This review examines human vulnerabilities in cybersecurity within Microfinance Institutions, analyzing their impact on organizational resilience. Focusing on social engineering, inadequate security training, and weak internal protocols, the study identifies key vulnerabilities exacerbating cyber threats to MFIs. A literature review using databases like IEEE Xplore and Google scholar focused on studies from 2019 to 2023 addressing human factors in cybersecurity specific to MFIs. Analysis of 57 studies reveals that phishing and insider threats are predominant, with a 20% annual increase in phishing attempts. Employee susceptibility to these attacks is heightened by insufficient training, with entry-level employees showing the highest vulnerability rates. Further, only 35% of MFIs offer regular cybersecurity training, significantly impacting incident reduction. This paper recommends enhanced training frequency, robust internal controls, and a cybersecurity-aware culture to mitigate human-induced cyber risks in MFIs.

The study aimed to develop a customized Data Governance Maturity Model (DGMM) for the Ministry of Defence (MoD) in Kenya to address data governance challenges in military settings. Current frameworks lack specific requirements for the defence industry. The model uses Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to enhance data governance procedures. Design Science Research guided the study, using qualitative and quantitative methods to gather data from MoD personnel. Major deficiencies were found in data integration, quality control, and adherence to data security regulations. The DGMM helps the MOD improve personnel, procedures, technology, and organizational elements related to data management. The model was tested against ISO/IEC 38500 and recommended for use in other government sectors with similar data governance issues. The DGMM has the potential to enhance data management efficiency, security, and compliance in the MOD and guide further research in military data governance.

Exploration of the Seaweed Resources in Nigeria: A Case Study of Lagos Coastal Waters

This study provides an in-depth exploration of seaweed biodiversity in Nigeria’s coastal waters, a largely unexplored area for marine resources. There is a dearth of sufficient data on seaweed biodiversity in Nigeria. The research aimed to assess the diversity and distribution of seaweeds in this region. Seaweed samples were collected by hand, using scrapers, at low tide from four stations identified by local fisherfolk and commercial divers. These samples were analyzed in the laboratory for species identification. A total of 39 seaweed taxa were identified, with Rhodophyta (red algae) being the most abundant (74%), followed by Chlorophyta (green algae) (21%) and Heterokontophyta (brown algae) (5%). The highest biomass species included Grateloupia sp., Chaetomorpha antennina, Gracilaria sp., Ceratodictyon variabile, Cladophora sp., Gelidium pusillum, Ulva sp., Blidingia minima, and Caloglossa leprieurii. Species abundance was highest on breakwater rocks and on the bodies of anchored or sunken vessels, while sandy beaches exhibited lower abundance. The findings reveal significant potential for Nigeria’s seaweed in aquaculture, climate change mitigation, and biotechnology. The study recommends further molecular research, expansion of sampling areas, and the development of sustainable seaweed cultivation practices to support Nigeria’s blue economy.

In times of increasing global warming,enormous efforts are required to rapidly reduce greenhouse gas(GHG)*** to the EU’s target of climate neutrality by 2050 and the even more ambitious goal of becoming climate-neutral in Germany by 2045,it is necessary to systematically increase energy efficiency and decarbonize the industrial heat *** methods of heat integration can be used to exploit existing potentials for waste heat utilization and to integrate renewable technologies for heating and *** using a non-stationary,multiperiod approach,additional energy savings can be achieved by integrating a thermal energy storage(TES)that enables heat transportation over *** paper presents a simultaneous approach for thermal energy storage integration into multiperiod heat integration *** approach can be used to minimize energy demand,costs and CO 2 emissions and is demonstrated in two case *** case study 1,it is shown that the presented approach is capable of integrating a TES properly into a simple multiperiod heat integration problem with two *** case study 2,a simplified example from a cosmetics manufactory is *** total utility demand can be reduced by up to 44.3%due to TES integration and the energetic optimal storage size can be determined as 125 m *** savings are strongly dependent on the constellation of heat flows between the periods,on the temperature levels and on the storage *** reductions of energy demand,costs and CO 2 emissions can be achieved with TES being properly integrated into a suitable operating environment.

The aim of this study is to define optimal tooth modifications, introduced by appropriately chosen head-cutter geometry and machine tool setting, to simultaneously minimize tooth contact pressure and angular displacement error of the driven gear （transmission error） of face-hobbed spiral bevel gears. As a result of these modifications, the gear pair becomes mismatched, and a point contact replaces the theoretical line contact. In the applied loaded tooth contact analysis it is assumed that the point contact under load is spreading over a surface along the whole or part of the ‘‘potential’’ contact line. A computer program was developed to implement the formulation provided above. By using this program the influence of tooth modifications introduced by the variation in machine tool settings and in head cutter data on load and pressure distributions, transmission errors, and fillet stresses is investigated and discussed. The correlation between the ease-off obtained by pinion tooth modifications and the corresponding tooth contact pressure distribution is investigated and the obtained results are presented.
