Phase change materials(PcMs) designate materials able to store latent heat.PcMs change state from solid to liquid over a defined temperature range.This process is reversible and can be used for thermo-technical purposes.The present paper aims to study the thermal performance of an inorganic eutectic PcM integrated into the rooftop slab of a test room and analyze its potential for building thermal management.The experiment is conducted in two test rooms in Antofagasta(chile) during summer,fall,and winter.The PcM is integrated into the rooftop of the first test room,while the roof panel of the second room is a sealed air cavity.The work introduces a numerical model,which is built using the finite difference method and used to simulate the rooms' thermal behavior.Several thermal simulations of the PcM room are performed for other chilean locations to evaluate and compare the capability of the PcM panel to store latent heat thermal energy in different climates.Results show that the indoor temperature of the PcM room in Antofagasta varies only 21.1℃±10.6℃,while the one of the air-panel room varies 28.3℃±18.5℃.Under the experiment's conditions,the PcM room's indoor temperature observes smoother diurnal fluctuations,with lower maximum and higher minimum indoor temperatures than that of the air-panel room.Thermal simulations in other cities show that the PcM panel has a better thermal performance during winter,as it helps to maintain or increase the room temperature by some degrees to reach comfort temperatures.This demonstrates that the implementation of such PcM in the building envelope can effectively reduce space heating and cooling needs,and improve indoor thermal comfort in different climates of chile.

The fitting of lifetime distribution in real-life data has been studied in various fields of research. With the theory of evolution still applicable, more complex data from real-world scenarios will continue to emerge. Despite this, many researchers have made commendable efforts to develop new lifetime distributions that can fit this complex data. In this paper, we utilized the KM-transformation technique to increase the flexibility of the power Lindley distribution, resulting in the Kavya-Manoharan Power Lindley (KMPL) distribution. We study the mathematical treatments of the KMPL distribution in detail and adapt the widely used method of maximum likelihood to estimate the unknown parameters of the KMPL distribution. We carry out a Monte carlo simulation study to investigate the performance of the Maximum Likelihood Estimates (MLEs) of the parameters of the KMPL distribution. To demonstrate the effectiveness of the KMPL distribution for data fitting, we use a real dataset comprising the waiting time of 100 bank customers. We compare the KMPL distribution with other models that are extensions of the power Lindley distribution. Based on some statistical model selection criteria, the summary results of the analysis were in favor of the KMPL distribution. We further investigate the density fit and probability-probability (p-p) plots to validate the superiority of the KMPL distribution over the competing distributions for fitting the waiting time dataset.

Radio-frequency interference is a growing concern as wireless technology advances,with potentially life-threatening consequences like interference between radar altimeters and 5 G cellular networks.Mobile transceivers mix signals with varying ratios over time,posing challenges for conventional digital signal processing(DSP)due to its high latency.These challenges will worsen as future wireless technologies adopt higher carrier frequencies and data rates.However,conventional DSPs,already on the brink of their clock frequency limit,are expected to offer only marginal speed advancements.This paper introduces a photonic processor to address dynamic interference through blind source separation(BSS).Our system-on-chip processor employs a fully integrated photonic signal pathway in the analogue domain,enabling rapid demixing of received mixtures and recovering the signal-of-interest in under 15 picoseconds.This reduction in latency surpasses electronic counterparts by more than three orders of magnitude.To complement the photonic processor,electronic peripherals based on field-programmable gate array(FPGA)assess the effectiveness of demixing and continuously update demixing weights at a rate of up to 305 Hz.This compact setup features precise dithering weight control,impedance-controlled circuit board and optical fibre packaging,suitable for handheld and mobile scenarios.We experimentally demonstrate the processor’s ability to suppress transmission errors and maintain signal-to-noise ratios in two scenarios,radar altimeters and mobile communications.This work pioneers the real-time adaptability of integrated silicon photonics,enabling online learning and weight adjustments,and showcasing practical operational applications for photonic processing.

The availability of groundwater of acceptable quality has become a difficult challenge to meet in many countries, particularly côte d’Ivoire. The State of côte d’Ivoire and rural populations are building hydraulic infrastructure for this purpose. However, the quality of water coming from these infrastructures remains to be determined. This study therefore aims to analyze certain physicochemical parameters of the groundwater of Gloazra, Kouezra and Trahonfla. These are temperature, pH, electrical conductivity, TDS, salinity level, hardness, alkalinity, chloride content and bicarbonate. To determine the pH, electrical conductivity, temperature, TDS, and salinity rate, an electrochemical analysis was carried out. The titrimetric analysis made it possible to determine the chloride and bicarbonate content, alkalinity, and hardness. The results indicate that the studied groundwater is soft and acidic with good mineralization. This water does not present a health hazard to consumers but can affect hydraulic equipment and household containers.

This study was aimed to investigate the effects of hydrothermal aging, propene and SO2 poisoning on the ammonia-selective catalytic reduction (NH3-ScR) performance of both cu-SAPO-34 and cu-ZSM-5. The catalytic activities of fresh, aged and poisoned samples were tested in ammonia-selective catalytic reduction (NH3-ScR) of NOx conditions. The XRD, TG and N2-desorption results showed that the structures of the cu-SAPO-34 and cu-ZSM-5 remained intact after 750˚c hydrothermally aged, SO2 and propene poisoned. After hydrothermal aging at 750˚c for 12 h, the NO reduction performance of cu-ZSM-5 was significantly reduced at lower temperatures, while that of cu-SAPO-34 was less affected. Moreover, cu-SAPO-34 catalyst showed high NO conversion with SO2 or propene compared to cu-ZSM-5. However, cu-ZSM-5 showed a larger drop in catalytic activity with SO2 or propene compared to cu-SAPO-34 catalyst. The H2-TPR results showed that cu2 ions could be reduced to cu and cu0 for cu-ZSM-5, while no significant transformation of copper species was observed for cu-SAPO-34. Meanwhile, the UV-vis DRS results showed that cuO species were formed in cu-ZSM-5, while little changes were observed for the cu-SAPO-34. cu-SAPO-34 showed high sulfur and hydrocarbon poison resistance compared to cu-ZSM-5. In summary, cu-SAPO-34 with small-pore zeolite showed higher hydrothermal stability and better hydrocarbon and sulfur poison resistant than cu-ZSM-5 with medium-pore.

The aim of this study is to produce large quantities of yam tubers in the field from seed tubers derived from vitroplants regenerated from aerial stem cuttings and farmers’ tuber seeds. Seed tubers from ten yam cultivars, including five from Dioscorea alata (cDa083, cDa053, cDa115, cDa150 and cDa266) and five from Dioscorea cayenensis-rotundata (cDr015, cDr027, cDr150, cDr206 and cDr148) with distinct agro-morphological characteristics, were used as material. A completely randomized block design with 3 replications was used. In each block, all cultivars and seed types were represented. When put into cultivation, the tubers produced by the vitroplants all germinated and gave 100% healthy plants, compared with 86% to 100% healthy plants for the seed tubers produced by the farmers. Yields per hectare ranged from 10 to 25 tonnes for seed tubers produced by in vitro plants, and from 4 to 9 tons for seed tubers produced by farmers. Seed tubers from vitroplants can therefore be recommended to farmers as a solution to the problem of seed tuber unavailability.

目的分析经皮冠状动脉介入(PcI)治疗的急性冠状动脉综合征(AcS)患者早期不同联合降血脂策略的疗效。方法选取2018年1月至2022年6月大连医科大学附属第一医院诊断为AcS并行PcI治疗的患者,根据患者出院时降血脂方案,分为A组(他汀类药物+依折麦布)、B组(他汀类药物+依洛尤单抗)和c组(他汀类药物+依折麦布+依洛尤单抗),各73例。比较3组患者基线及1、6个月随访时低密度脂蛋白胆固醇(LDL-c)和其他血脂指标水平变化。结果在1、6个月随访时,B、c组LDL-c较基线下降幅度显著大于A组,LDL-cc组间比较差异均无统计学意义(均P>0.05);3组间三酰甘油、载脂蛋白A1水平比较差异均无统计学意义(均P>0.05)。结论他汀类药物联合应用依洛尤单抗可快速降低AcS行PcI患者血脂,增加LDL-c达标率,但是在他汀类药物联合依洛尤单抗基础上再联合依折麦布降低LDL-c的效果并不优于他汀类药物联合依洛尤单抗。

Introduction: The epidemiology of both hepatitis B virus (HBV) and hepatitis c virus (HcV) infections among drug users (DUs) is little known in West Africa. The study aimed to assess the prevalence of hepatitis B and c viruses among drug users in Burkina Faso. Methodology: This was a cross-sectional biological and behavioral survey conducted between June and August 2022, among drug users in Ouagadougou and Bobo Dioulasso, the two main cities of Burkina Faso. A respondent-driven sampling (RDS) was used to recruit drug users. Hepatitis B surface antigen was determined using lateral flow rapid test kits and antibodies to hepatitis c virus in serum determined using an Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay. Data were entered and analyzed using Stata 17 software. Weighted binary logistic regression was used to identify the associated factors of hepatitis B and c infections and a p-value Results: A total of 323 drug users were recruited with 97.5% males. The mean age was 32.7 years old. The inhaled or smoked mode was the most used by drug users. The adjusted hepatitis B and hepatitis c prevalence among study participants were 11.1% and 2.3% respectively. The marital status (p = 0.001), and the nationality (p = 0.011) were significantly associated with hepatitis B infection. The type of drug used was not significantly associated with hepatitis B infection or hepatitis c infection. conclusion: The prevalence of HBsAg and anti-HcV antibodies among DUs are comparable to those reported in the general population in Burkina Faso. This result suggests that the main routes of contamination by HBV and HcV among DUs are similar to those in the population, and could be explained by the low use of the injectable route by DUs in Burkina Faso.
