The Impact of Social Med.a on d.etary Behaviors and.Bod. Image of College Stud.nts: A Qualitative Approach

Background. The use of social med.a platforms for health and.nutrition information has become popular among college stud.nts. Although social med.a mad. information read.ly accessible in d.fferent formats, nutritional misinformation promoted.by influencers and.non-experts caused.negative impact on d.et behavior and.perception of bod. image. Previous research ind.cated.that extensive use of social med.a was positively linked.to d.sord.red.eating behaviors. Social med.a platforms like Facebook and.Instagram that allow users to follow celebrities intensified.exposure to influencers’ messages and.images and.resulted.in negative mood. and.bod. d.ssatisfaction. Objective: This paper aims to explore the impact of social med.a on college stud.nts’ d.etary behaviors and.bod. image. Participants: 18 und.rgrad.ate stud.nts from a public university in the Southern United.States were recruited.through a mass email. Method.: A cross-sectional qualitative stud. of three focus groups was cond.cted. The focus groups were based.on guid.ng open-end.d.questions. *** was used.to cod. and.analyze the d.ta using ind.ctive and.d.d.ctive cod.s. Results: Three main themes were id.ntified. The cond.tions theme includ.d.elements that explain why and.how social med.a influences the participants’ actions. The actions theme includ.d.eating behavior, physical activity, and.d.etary supplement intake. The consequences theme d.scribes anticipated.or actual outcomes of actions such as bod. image and.id.al weight. Conclusions: Social med.a has had.a negative influence on d.et behaviors and.a positive influence on physical activity. Evid.nce-based.nutrition and.weight management information is need.d.to thwart potential misinformation.

Spinal cord.injuries have profound.d.trimental effects on ind.vid.als, regard.ess of whether they are caused.by trauma or non-traumatic events. The compromised.regeneration of the spinal cord.is primarily attributed.to d.maged.neurons, inhibitory molecules, d.sfunctional immune response, and.glial scarring. Unfortunately, currently, there are no effective treatments available that can fully repair the spinal cord.and.improve functional outcomes. Nevertheless, numerous pre-clinical approaches have been stud.ed.for spinal cord.injury recovery, includ.ng using biomaterials, cells, d.ugs, or technological-based.strategies. Combinatorial treatments, which target various aspects of spinal cord.injury pathophysiology, have been extensively tested.in the last d.cad.. These approaches aim to synergistically enhance repair processes by ad.ressing various obstacles faced.d.ring spinal cord.regeneration. Thus, this review intend. to provid. scientists and.clinicians with an overview of pre-clinical combinatorial approaches that have been d.veloped.toward.the solution of spinal cord.regeneration as well as upd.te the current knowled.e about spinal cord.injury pathophysiology with an emphasis on the current clinical management.

Registrations based.on the manual placement of spherical targets are still being employed.by many professionals in the ***,the placement of those targets usually relies solely on personal experience without scientific evid.nce supported.by numerical *** paper presents a comprehensive investigation,based.on Monte Carlo simulation,into d.termining the optimal number and.positions for efficient target placement in typical scenes consisting of a pair of *** d.monstrates new check-up statistical rules and.geometrical constraints that can effectively extract and.analyze massive simulations of unregistered.point cloud. and.their correspond.ng *** than 6×10^(7) sets of the registrations were simulated.whereas more than IOO registrations with real d.ta were used.to verify the results of *** results ind.cated.that using five spherical targets is the best choice for the registration of a large typical registration site consisting of two vertical facad.s and.a ground.when there is only a box set of spherical targets *** a result,the users can avoid.placing extra targets to achieve insignificant improvements in registration *** results also suggest that the higher registration accuracy can be obtained.when the ratio between the facad.-to-target d.stance and.target-to-scanner d.stance is approximately 3:***,the targets should.be placed.closer to the scanner rather than in the mid.le between the facad.s and.the scanner,contrad.cting to the trad.tional thought. Besid.s,the results reveal that the accuracy can be increased.by setting the largest projected.triangular area of the targets to be large.

Chitin powd.r and.chitin-aerogel were prepared.from shrimp wastes and.used.to uptake Y^(3+)from aqueous solutions and.concentrate this rare earth element from phosphogypsum(PG).Chitin aerogel d.splays a specific surface area of 945 m^(2)/g,while chitin powd.r is 3.6 m^(2)/g,which largely influences its ad.orption *** the ad.orption in synthetic solutions,the effect of pH on Y^(3+)removal is strong for chitin powd.r *** contrast,no big pH influence was d.tected.for chitin *** interactions and.chelation can highlight the proposed.mechanism of Y^(3+)on chitin ad.orbents for the powd.r and.***,in ad.ition to these interactions,pore filling/pore d.ffusion is the main mechanism of Y^(3+)removal in the chitin *** aerogel is efficient in concentrating 8 times the Y^(3+)from PG,a very complex *** complex chitin aerogel-Y^(3+)can be a second.ry source of rare earth elements for other applications.

The partial d.fferential equation(Pd.)solution of the telegrapher is a promising fault location method.among time-d.main and.mod.l-based.*** research works have shown that the leap-frog process is superior to other explicit method. for the Pd. ***,its implementation is challenged.by d.termining the initial cond.tions in time and.the bound.ry cond.tions in *** letter proposes two implicit solution method. for d.termining the initial cond.tions and.an analytical way to obtain the bound.ry cond.tions found.d.on the signal *** results show that the proposal gives fault location accuracy superior to the existing leap-frog scheme,particularly in the presence of harmonics.

The Effect of External Magnetic Field.on Electron Scale Kelvin–Helmholtz Instability

We use particle-in-cell,fully electromagnetic,plasma kinetic simulation to stud. the effect of external magnetic field.on electron scale Kelvin–Helmholtz instability(ESKHI).The results are applicable to collisionless plasmas when,e.g.,solar wind.interacts with planetary magnetospheres or a magnetic field.is generated.in AGN *** find.that as in the case of magnetohyd.od.namic(MHd.KHI,in the kinetic regime,the presence of an external magnetic field.red.ces the growth rate of the *** the MHd.case,there is a known threshold.magnetic field.for KHI stabilization,while for ESKHI this is to be analytically *** a kinetic analytical expression,we use several numerical simulation runs to establish an empirical d.pend.nce of ESKHI growth rate,Γ(B_(0))ω_(pe),on the strength of the applied.external magnetic *** find.the best fit is hyperbolic,Γ(B_(0))ω_(pe)=Γ_(0)ω_(pe)/(A+BB_(0)),where Γ_(0) is the ESKHI growth rate without an external magnetic field.and.B_(0)=B_(0)/B_(MHd.is the ratio of external and.two-fluid.MHd.stability threshold.magnetic field.d.rived.*** analytical theory to back up this growth rate d.pend.nce on the external magnetic field.is *** results suggest that in astrophysical settings where a strong magnetic field.pre-exists,the generation of an ad.itional magnetic field.by the ESKHI is suppressed.which implies that nature provid.s a“safety valve”—natural protection not to“over-generate”magnetic field.by the ESKHI ***,we find.that our two-fluid.MHd.threshold.magnetic field.is the same(up to a factor √γ_(0))as the d. saturation magnetic field.previously pred.cted.by fully kinetic theory.
