AIM:To investigate a novel phacoemulsification system“EVA nEXUS”(D.O.R.C.,Dutch Opthalmic Research Center)in comparison to the existing system“EVA”in clinical *** to compare both phacoemulsification systems in terms of efficiency,safety and postoperative inflammatory ***:In this study standardized cataract surgery was performed on both eyes of the study participant,using the“EVA system”(control group,n=20)on one eye and the“EVA nEXUS system”(intervention group,n=20)on the other *** patients with cataract LOCS Grading 1-3 and no accompanying eye diseases were included in this study.A total of 20 patients were included in this study,with each treatment arm including 20 *** surgery a 0.1 mL aqueous humor sample was collected 1min after phacoemulsification to measure the total prostaglanin E2 concentrations using an enzyme-linked immunosorbent *** endothelial cell count,visual and refractive outcomes,and anterior chamber flare were evaluated preoperatively,and 1d,1wk,and 3mo ***:There were no statistically significant differences between both groups regarding intraoperative safety parameters including effective phacoemulsification time(P=0.904),balanced saline solution flow(P=0.701)and total surgery time(P=0.565).Postoperative prostaglandin E2 levels,anterior chamber flare as well as endothelial cell loss tended to be lower in the nEXUS-Group,however not being statistically significant(P=0.718;0.164;0.486).Both systems provided similar clinical outcomes,regarding best corrected visual acuity and refractive parameters,showing no statistically significant differences between both ***:Both systems show a high level of safety and efficency with similar results in terms of safety parameters including postoperative inflammatory activity and endothelial cell loss as well as visual and refractive *** statistically not significant,the EVA nEXUS system tends to cause less postoperative inflammatio

Determining the dynamics of adsorbed liquids on nanoporous materials is crucial for a detailed understanding of interactions and processes on the solid-liquid interface in many materials and porous *** of the influence of the presence of paramagnetic species on the surface or within the porous matrices is essential for fundamental studies and industrial processes such as *** resonance methods,such as electron paramagnetic resonance(EPR),nuclear magnetic resonance(nMR)and dynamic nuclear polarization(DnP),are powerful tools to address these questions and to quantify dy-namics,electron-nuclear interaction features and their relation to the physical-chemical parameters of the *** paper presents an nMR study of the dynamics of polar and nonpolar adsorbed liquids,represented by water,n-decane,deuterated water and nonane-d20,on the native silica surface as well as silica modified with vanadyl *** analysis of the frequency dependence of the nuclear spin-lattice relaxation time is carried out by separating the intra-and intermolecular contributions,which were analyzed using reorientations mediated by translational displacements(RMTD)and force-free-hard-sphere(FFHS)models,respectively.

Having a Partner and Having Children:Comparisons of Adults with Congenital Heart Disease and the General Population:A 15-Year Case-Control Study

Contemporaneous assembly of Western Gondwana and final Rodinia break-up:Implications for the supercontinent cycle

nAT10 promotes cell proliferation by acetylating CEP170 mRnA to enhance translation efficiency in multiple myeloma

Multiple myeloma(MM) is still an incurable hematologic malignancy, which is eagerly to the discovery of novel therapeutic targets and methods. n-acetyltransferase 10(nAT10) is the first reported regulator of mRnA acetylation that is activated in many cancers. However, the function of nAT10 in MM remains unclear. We found significant upregulation of nAT10 in MM patients compared to normal plasma cells, which was also highly correlated with MM poor outcome. Further enforced nAT10 expression promoted MM growth in vitro and in vivo, while knockdown of nAT10 reversed those effects. The correlation analysis of acetylated RnA immunoprecipitation sequencing(ac RIP-seq) and ribosome profiling sequencing(Ribo-seq) combined with RIP-PCR tests identified centrosomal protein 170(CEP170) as an important downstream target of nAT10. Interfering CEP170 expression in nAT10-OE cells attenuated the acceleration of cellular growth caused by elevated nAT10. Moreover,CEP170 overexpression promoted cellular proliferation and chromosomal instability(CIn) in ***, remodelin, a selective nAT10 inhibitor, suppressed MM cellular growth, induced cellular apoptosis in vitro and prolonged the survival of 5TMM3VT mice in vivo. Collectively, our data indicate that nAT10 acetylates CEP170 mRnA to enhance CEP170 translation efficiency, which suggests that nAT10 may serve as a promising therapeutic target in MM.

Early Paleozoic accretionary orogens dominated the Western Gondwana margin and were characterized by nearly continuous subduction associated with crustal extension and back-arc basin *** southwestern margin is represented by Famatinian and Pampean basement realms exposed in South America,both related to the protracted Paleozoic evolution of the Terra Australis Orogen,whereas the northwestern margin is mainly recorded in Cadomian domains of Europe and adjacent ***,no clear relationships between these regions were so far *** on a compilation and reevaluation of geological,paleomagnetic,petrological,geochronological and isotopic evidence,this contribution focuses on crustal-scale tectonic and geodynamic processes occurring in Western Gondwana accretionary orogens,aiming at disentangling their common Early Paleozoic *** show that accretionary orogens were dominated by high-temperature/lowpressure metamorphism and relatively high geothermal gradients,resulting from the development of extended/hyperextended margins and bulk transtensional *** this sense,retreating-mode accretionary orogens characterized the Early Paleozoic Gondwana margin,though short-lived pulses of compression/transpression also *** existence of retreating subduction zones favoured mantle-derived magmatism and mixing with relatively young(meta)sedimentary sources in a thin continental *** reworking of previous forearc sequences due to trenchward arc migration thus took place through assimilation and anatexis in the arc/back-arc ***,retreating-mode accretionary orogens were the locus of Early Paleozoic crustal growth in Western Gondwana,intimately associated with major flare-up events,such as those related to the Cadomian and Famatian *** roll back,probably resulting from decreasing convergence rates and plate velocities after Gondwana assembly,was a key factor for orogen-scale geodynamic ***

The Chinese Grouse(Tetrastes sewerzowi) and Hazel Grouse(T. bonasia) are sibling species that are well-adapted to harsh high-altitude and latitude habitats. In the current study, we sampled and sequenced 29 Chinese Grouse(n=16) and Hazel Grouse(n=13) from eight locations in China, Sweden,Germany, and northeast Poland to analyze population genetic diversity and structure, introgression, and local adaptation.

A route of synthesis of a novel macrocyclic sulfonamide peptidomimetics \%via\% ring closing metathesis(RCM) has been designed. Allyl glutaric anhydride has been synthesized from commercially available diethyl allylmanolate and \%tert\% butyl acrylate by the Michael reaction and hydrolysis followed by decarboxylation and dehydration. Then, allyl hydrogen 2\|allylglutarate, a precursor for RCM, has been prepared. The synthesis of n \|allyl\|2\|ethoxycarbonyl\|2\|aminoethylsulfonyl amide, another precursor, has been accomplished from cystine.
