Despite the promising prospects of nanoparticles in oral drug delivery,the process of oral administration involves a complex transportation pathway that includes cellular uptake,intracellular trafficking,and exocytosis by intestinal epithelial cells,which are necessary steps for nanoparticles to enter the bloodstream and exert therapeutic *** researchers have identified several crucial factors that regulate the interaction between nanoparticles and intestinal epithelial cells,including surface properties such as ligand modification,surface charge,hydrophilicity/hydrophobicity,intestinal protein corona formation,as well as holistic properties like particle size,shape,and *** these properties is essential for enhancing transepithelial transport efficiency and designing effective oral drug delivery ***,this review provides a comprehensive overview of the surface and holistic properties that influence the transepithelial transport of nanoparticles,elucidating the underlying principles governing their impact on transepithelial *** review also outlines the chosen of parameters to be considered for the subsequent design of oral drug delivery systems.

Distinct from"rockingchair"lithium-ion batteries(LIBs),the unique anionic intercalation chemistry on the cathode side of dual-ion batteries(DIBs)endows them with intrinsic advantages of low cost,high voltage,and ecofriendly,which is attracting widespread attention,and is expected to achieve the next generation of large-scale energy storage *** the electrochemical reactions on the anode side of DIBs are similar to that of LIBs,in fact,to match the rapid insertion kinetics of anions on the cathode side and consider the compatibility with electrolyte system which also serves as an active material,the anode materials play a very important role,and there is an urgent demand for rational structural design and performance optimization.A review and summarization of previous studies will facilitate the exploration and optimization of DIBs in the ***,we summarize the development process and working mechanism of DIBs and exhaustively categorize the latest research of DIBs anode materials and their applications in different battery ***,the structural design,reaction mechanism and electrochemical performance of anode materials are briefly ***,the fundamental challenges,potential strategies and perspectives are also put *** is hoped that this review could shed some light for researchers to explore more superior anode materials and advanced systems to further promote the development of DIBs.

Lipid and sugar homeostasis is critical for insect development and *** this study,we characterized an acetyl coenzyme A carboxylase gene in Blattella germanica(BgACC)that is involved in both lipogenesis and sugar *** found that BgACC was dominantly expressed in the fat body and integument,and was significantly upregulated after *** of BgACC in 5th-instar nymphs did not affect their normal molting to the next nymphal stage,but it caused a lethal phenotype during adult ***-RNA interference(RNAi)significantly downregulated total free fatty acid(FFA)and triacylglycerol(TAG)levels,and also caused a significant decrease of cuticular hydrocarbons(CHCs).Repression of BgACC in adult females affected the development of oocytes and resulted in sterile females,but BgACC-RNAi did not affect the reproductive ability of ***,knockdown of BgACC also changed the expression of insulin-like peptide genes(BglLPs),which mimicked a physiological state of high sugar *** addition,BgACC was upregulated when *** were fed on a high sucrose diet,and repression of BgACC upregulated the expression of the glycogen synthase gene(BgGlyS).Moreover,BgACC-RNAi increased the circulating sugar levels and glycogen storage,and a longevity assay suggested that BgACC was important for the survival of *** under conditions of high sucrose *** results confirm that BgACC is involved in multiple lipid biogenesis and sugar homeostasis processes,which further modulates insect reproduction and sugar *** study benefits our understanding of the crosstalk between lipid and sugar metabolism.

The process of entrainment-mixing between cumulus clouds and the ambient air is important for the development of cumulus *** obtaining the entrainment rate(λ)is particularly important for its parameterization within the overall cumulus parameterization *** this study,an improved bulk-plume method is proposed by solving the equations of two conserved variables simultaneously to calculateλof cumulus clouds in a large-eddy *** results demonstrate that the improved bulk-plume method is more reliable than the traditional bulk-plume method,becauseλ,as calculated from the improved method,falls within the range ofλvalues obtained from the traditional method using different conserved *** probability density functions ofλfor all data,different times,and different heights can be well-fitted by a log-normal distribution,which supports the assumed stochastic entrainment process in previous *** analysis demonstrate that the relationship betweenλand the vertical velocity is better than other thermodynamic/dynamical properties;thus,the vertical velocity is recommended as the primary influencing factor for the parameterization ofλin the *** results of this study enhance the theoretical understanding ofλand its influencing factors and shed new light on the development ofλparameterization.

Background Intestinal barrier is a dynamic interface between the body and the ingested food components, however, dietary components or xenobiotics could compromise intestinal integrity, causing health risks to the host. Gossypol, a toxic component in cottonseed meal(CSM), caused intestinal injury in fish or other monogastric animals. It has been demonstrated that probiotics administration benefits the intestinal barrier integrity, but the efficacy of probiotics in maintaining intestinal health when the host is exposed to gossypol remains unclear. Here, a strain(YC) affiliated to Pediococcus pentosaceus was isolated from the gut of Nile tilapia(Oreochromis niloticus) and its potential to repair gossypol-induced intestinal damage was *** A total of 270 Nile tilapia(2.20 ± 0.02 g) were allotted in 3 groups with 3 tanks each and fed with 3 diets including CON(control diet), GOS(control diet containing 300 mg/kg gossypol) and GP(control diet containing 300 mg/kg gossypol and 10^(8) colony-forming unit(CFU)/g P. pentosaceus YC), respectively. After 10 weeks, addition of P. pentosaceus YC restored growth retardation and intestinal injury induced by gossypol in Nile tilapia. Transcriptome analysis and si RNA interference experiments demonstrated that NOD-like receptors(NLR) family caspase recruitment domain(CARD) domain containing 3(Nlrc3) inhibition might promote intestinal stem cell(ISC) proliferation, as well as maintaining gut barrier integrity. 16S r RNA sequencing and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry(GC-MS) revealed that addition of P. pentosaceus YC altered the composition of gut microbiota and increased the content of propionate in fish gut.
