AIM: To investigate the hepatoprotective effects and mechanisms of hydrogen-rich water(HRW) in acetaminophen(APAP)-induced liver injury in ***: Male mice were randomly divided into the following four groups: normal saline(NS) control group, mice received equivalent volumes of NS intraperitoneally(ip); HRW control group, mice were given HRW(same volume as the NS group); APAP + NS group, mice received NS ip for 3 d(5 mL /kg body weight, twice a day at 8 am and 5 pm) after APAP injection; APAP + HRW group, mice received HRW for 3 d(same as NS treatment) after APAP *** the first experiment, mice were injected ip with a lethal dose of 750 mg/kg APAP to determine the 5-d survival *** the second experiment, mice were injected ip with a sub-lethal dose of 500 mg/*** and liver samples were collected at 24, 48, and 72 h after APAP injection to determine the degree of liver *** :Treatment with HRW resulted ina significant increase in the 5-d survival rate compared with the APAP + NS treatment group(60% vs 26.67%, P significantly decrease the serum alanine aminotransferase level(24 h: 4442 ± 714.3 U/L vs 6909 ± 304.8 U/L, P sis area(27.73% ± 0.58% vs 36.87% ± 0.49%, P significantly lower in the HRW-treated *** m

AIM: To investigate the prognostic significance of estrogen receptor 1(ER1) and vascular endothelial growth factor A(VEGF-A) expression in primary gallbladder carcinoma(GBC) to identify new prognostic markers for this ***: Using immunohistochemistry, we investigated ER1 and VEGF-A expression in 78 GBC and 78 cholelithiasis(CS) tissues. The results were correlated with clinicopathological features. Univariate and multivariate analyses were performed to evaluate the relationship between ER1 and VEGF-A expression and patients' prognosis. Further Kaplan-Meier survival analysis was also performed. RESULTS: ER1 and VEGF-A expression was significantly higher in GBC compared with CS(47/78 vs 28/78, P sion was correlated with gender(P sion was correlated with tumor differentiation in GBC patients(P sis, age and tumor node metastasis(TNM) stage were factors associated with GBC prognosis(P sion of ER1 or VEGF-A and overall survival, the high expression of ER1 combined with VEGF-A predicted a poor prognosis for GBC patients(16.30 ± 1.87 vs 24.97 ± 2.09, log-rank P sis, combined expression of ER1 and VEGF-A and TNM stage were independent prognostic factors for GBC patients(P siON: Combined expression of ER1 and VEGF-A is a potential prognostic marker for GBC patients. Clinical detection of ER1 and VEGF-A in surgically resected GBC tissues would provide animportant reference for decision-making of postoperative treatment programs.

Boron nanoparticles,with their remarkably high gravimetric and volumetric calorific values,emerge as the most promising fuel in energetic ***,challenges such as susceptibility to oxidation,high ignition temperature,and low combustion efficiency have constrained their further *** this study,we fabricated high explosives based nano-boron microspheres with uniform size using the electrostatic spray method,in which the boron nanoparticles and high explosives(CL-20 or PETN)are closely bonded together by fluorinated polymer(F2602)and evenly *** results indicated that the microspheres exhibited high sphericity and showed an enhanced antioxidant *** addition of high-energy explosives not only reduced the thermal oxidation temperature of nano-boron powder within the microspheres but also significantly enhanced the pressurization ***,the microspheres with added high-energy explosives released more energy during the combustion *** to physically mixed samples,electrostatically sprayed microspheres with a uniform microstructure still exhibited higher ***,the design and synthesis of microspheres with controllable structures using the electrostatic spray method show promising application prospects.
