Natural mechanical materials,such as bamboo and bone,often exhibit superior specific mechanical properties due to their hierarchical porous *** the principle of hierarchy as inspiration can facilitate the development of hierarchical mechanical metamaterials(HMMs)across multiple length scales via 3D *** this work,we propose self-similar HMMs that combine octet-truss(OCT)architecture as the first and second orders,with cubic architecture as the third or more *** HMMs were fabricated using stereolithography 3D printing,with the length sizes ranging from approximately 200µm to the centimeter *** compressive stress–strain behaviors of HMMs exhibit a zigzag characteristic,and the toughness and energy absorption can be significantly enhanced by the hierarchical *** compressive moduli are comparable to that of natural materials,and the strengths are superior to that of most polymer/metal foams,alumina hollow/carbon lattices,and other natural ***,the flexural stress–strain curves exhibit a nonlinear behavior,which can be attributed to the hierarchical architecture and local damage *** relatively high mechanical properties can be attributed to the synergistic effect of the stretch-dominated OCT architecture and the bending-dominated cube ***,an ultralight HMM-integrated unmanned aerial vehicle(HMM-UAV)was successfully designed and *** HMM-UAV is~85%lighter than its bulk counterpart,remarkably extending the flight duration time(~53%).This work not only provides an effective design strategy for HMMs but also further expands the application benchmark of HMMs.

In this review,we delve into the intricate regulation of the tumor microenvironment(TME)under malignant conditions and explore the transformative potential of nanoscale metal-organic frameworks(nMOFs)in the realm of sonodynamic therapy(SDT).The TME serves as a dynamic milieu influencing tumor progression and therapeutic response,presenting formidable challenges,such as hypoxia,acidity,excess hydrogen peroxide,high expression of glutathione,and *** the exceptional attributes of nMOFs,including their tunable structures and biocompatibility,holds immense promise for enhancing SDT efficacy and reshaping the TME *** integrating nMOFs with SDT,researchers aim to assemble multiple functionalities in a single platform that enhance tumor cell eradication while counteracting unfavorable TME conditions and immune *** potential of nMOFs to revolutionize tumor therapies by precisely targeting TME and overcoming therapeutic barriers is underscored by an in-depth analysis of recent breakthroughs in the use of nMOFs-based sonosensitizers to remodulate TME to amplify the efficacy of SDT.

Zeolites have been widely used as catalysts,ion-exchangers,and adsorbents in chemical industries,detergent industry,steel industry,glass industry,ceramic industry,medical and healthﬁeld,and environmentalﬁeld,and recently applied in energy ***-assisted synthesis is a very effective approach in promoting the crystallization of *** some cases,the target zeolite cannot be formed in the absence of seed *** homologous seed-assisted synthesis,the structure of the seed zeolite is the same to that of the target zeolite,while the structure of the seed zeolite is different to that of the target zeolite in the heterologous seed-assisted *** this review,we brieﬂy summarized the heterologous seed-assisted syntheses of zeolites and analyzed the structure-directing effect of heterologous seeds and surveyed the“common composite building units(CBUs)hypothesis”and the“common secondary building units(SBUs)hypothesis”.However,both hypotheses cannot explain all observations on the heterologous seed-assisted ***,we proposed that the formation of the target zeolite does need nuclei with the structure of target zeolite and the formation of the nuclei of the target zeolite can be promoted by either the undissolved seed crystals with the same CBUs or SBUs to the target zeolite or by the facilitated appropriate distribution of the speciﬁc building units due to the presence of the heterologous seed that does not have any common CBUs and SBUs with the target zeolite.

Creating a multi-gene alignment matrix for phylogenetic analysis using organelle genomes involves aligning single-gene datasets manually,a process that can be time-consuming and prone to *** HomBlocks pipeline has been created to eliminate the inaccuracies arising from manual *** processing of a large number of sequences,however,remains a time-consuming *** conquer this challenge,we develop a speedy and efficient method called Organelle Genomes for Phylogenetic Analysis(ORPA).ORPA can quickly generate multiple sequence alignments for whole-genome comparisons by parsing the result files of NCBI BLAST,completing the task just in 1 *** increasing data volume,the efficiency of ORPA is even more pronounced,over 300 times faster than HomBlocks in aligning 60 high-plant chloroplast *** phylogenetic tree outputs from ORPA are equivalent to HomBlocks,indicating its outstanding *** to its speed and accuracy,ORPA can identify species-level evolutionary conflicts,providing valuable insights into evolutionary cognition.

Background Transvaginal oocyte retrieval is frequently followed by adverse events related to anesthesia and the *** research showed that transcutaneous electrical acupoint stimulation(TEAS)can relieve intraoperative pain and postoperative *** This study examined whether TEAS can alleviate pain and relieve adverse symptoms after oocyte ***,setting,participants and interventions Altogether 128 patients were randomly divided into the TEAS group and the mock TEAS *** two groups received a 30-minute-long TEAS or mock TEAS treatment that began 30 min after oocyte *** outcome measures The primary outcome was the visual analog scale(VAS)pain *** outcomes were pressure pain threshold,McGill score,pain rating index(PRI),present pain intensity(PPI),VAS stress score,VAS anxiety score,and postoperative adverse *** The baseline characteristics of the two groups were comparable(P>0.05).The VAS pain scores of the TEAS group were lower than those of the mock TEAS group at 60 and 90 min after oocyte retrieval(Psignificantly lower than those in the control group at 60 min after oocyte retrieval(P0.05).The TEAS group was superior to the mock TEAS group for relieving postoperative adverse symptoms(Psion TEAS treatment can relieve postoperative pain and postoperative adverse symptoms for patients undergoing oocyte retrieval.

Lipid-coated perfluorocarbon nanodroplets(lp-NDs)hold great promise in bio-medicine as vehicles for drug delivery,molecular imaging and vaccine ***,their clinical utility is restricted by limited targeted accumulation,attributed to the innate immune system(IIS),which acts as the initial defense mechanism in *** study aimed to optimize lp-ND formulations to mini-mize non-specific clearance by the ***(Gs),the principal components of Panax ginseng,possessing complement inhibition ability,structural similarity to cholesterol,and comparable fat solubi-lity to phospholipids,were used as promising candidate IIS *** different types of ginsenoside-based Ip-NDs(Gs Ip-NDs)were created,and their efficacy in reducing IS recognition was *** Gs p-NDs were observed to inhibit the adsorption of C3 in the protein corona(PC)and the generation of *** Gs to Ip-NDs reduced complement adsorption and phagocytosis,resulting in a longer blood circulation time in vivo compared to lp-NDs that did not contain *** results suggest that Gs can act as anti-complement and anti-phagocytosis adjuvants,potentially reducing non-specific clear-ance by the IS and improving lifespan.

In this editorial,we comment on the article by Wang et al published in the recent issue of the World Journal of Gastroenterology in *** focused on identifying risk factors for lymph node metastasis(LNM)in superficial esophageal squamous cell carcinoma(SESCC)patients and how to construct a simple and reliable clinical prediction model to assess the risk of LNM in SESCC patients,thereby helping to guide the selection of an appropriate treatment *** current standard treatment for SESCC is radical esophagectomy with lymph node ***,esophagectomy is associated with considerable morbidity and *** resection(ER)offers a safer and less invasive alternative to surgical resection and can enable the patient's quality of life to be maintained while providing a satisfactory ***,since ER is a localized treatment that does not allow for lymph node dissection,the risk of LNM in SESCC limits the effectiveness of *** LNM status can aid in determining whether patients with SESCC can be cured by ER without the need for additional *** studies have shown that tumor size,macroscopic type of tumor,degree of differentiation,depth of tumor invasion,and lymphovascular invasion are factors associated with LNM in patients with *** addition,tumor budding is commonly associated with LNM,recurrence,and distant metastasis,but this topic has been less covered in previous *** comprehensively evaluating the above risk factors for LNM,useful evidence can be obtained for doctors to select appropriate treatments for SESCC patients.

Diamond has an ultrawide bandgap with excellent physical properties, such as high critical electric field, excellent thermal conductivity, high carrier mobility, etc. Diamond with a hydrogen-terminated (H-terminated) surface has a negative electron affinity (NEA) and can easily produce surface electrons from valence or trapped electrons via optical absorption, thermal heating energy or carrier transport in a PN junction. The NEA of the H-terminated surface enables surface electrons to emit with high efficiency into the vacuum without encountering additional barriers and promotes further development and application of diamond-based emitting devices. This article reviews the electron emission properties of H-terminated diamond surfaces exhibiting NEA characteristics. The electron emission is induced by different physical mechanisms. Recent advancements in electron-emitting devices based on diamond are also summarized. Finally, the current challenges and future development opportunities are discussed to further develop the relevant applications of diamond-based electron-emitting devices.
