Robust textile-based spoof plasmonic frequency scanning antenna for on-body IoT applications

Securing a comfortable, wearable compact frequency beam scanning antenna(FBSA) with robustness to deformation, low specific absorption rate(SAR), and good coverage of the surrounding environment for Internet of Things(IoT) applications, such as on-body navigation and wireless communication is an emerging challenge. In this work, a robust textile-based spoof plasmonic frequency scanning antenna utilizing higher-order modes is presented, which is also robust to deformation caused by the activities of the human body. The innovative design of the element ensures the high-efficiency transmission of the fundamental mode of spoof surface plasmon polaritons(SSPP) structure, providing the potential of being a multifunctional composite device in the compact on-body network. Besides, an artificial magnetic conductor(AMC) is designed underneath the SSPP structure, obtaining a low SAR value(0.113 W/kg), which ensures the safety of users. As a practical realization of this concept, a textile-based spoof plasmonic antenna was fabricated in the microwave regime and the performed experimental results show the proposed antenna has a single-beam radiation characteristic with a 70° beam scanning angle range when the frequency is 4.7–6.0 GHz with a high average realized gain of 13.15 dBi. And it still maintains a steady performance when faced with structure deformation, which proves its robustness. Wireless communication quality experiments are performed to demonstrate the proposed antenna can measure the angles of targets and realize wireless signal transmission to specific targets as the frequency varies, it may find great potential in the field of on-body IoT applications.

Metamorphic P-T conditions and ages of garnet-biotite schists in the Dahongshan Group from the southwestern Yangtze Block

Background: Primary non-function(PNF) and early allograft failure(EAF) after liver transplantation(LT) seriously affect patient outcomes. In clinical practice, effective prognostic tools for early identifying recipients at high risk of PNF and EAF were urgently needed. Recently, the Model for Early Allograft Function(MEAF), PNF score by King's College(King-PNF) and Balance-and-Risk-Lactate(BAR-Lac) score were developed to assess the risks of PNF and EAF. This study aimed to externally validate and compare the prognostic performance of these three scores for predicting PNF and EAF. Methods: A retrospective study included 720 patients with primary LT between January 2015 and December 2020. MEAF, King-PNF and BAR-Lac scores were compared using receiver operating characteristic(ROC) and the net reclassification improvement(NRI) and integrated discrimination improvement(IDI) analyses. Results: Of all 720 patients, 28(3.9%) developed PNF and 67(9.3%) developed EAF in 3 months. The overall early allograft dysfunction(EAD) rate was 39.0%. The 3-month patient mortality was 8.6% while 1-year graft-failure-free survival was 89.2%. The median MEAF, King-PNF and BAR-Lac scores were 5.0(3.5–6.3),-2.1(-2.6 to-1.2), and 5.0(2.0–11.0), respectively. For predicting PNF, MEAF and King-PNF scores had excellent area under curves(AUCs) of 0.872 and 0.891, superior to BAR-Lac(AUC = 0.830). The NRI and IDI analyses confirmed that King-PNF score had the best performance in predicting PNF while MEAF served as a better predictor of EAD. The EAF risk curve and 1-year graft-failure-free survival curve showed that King-PNF was superior to MEAF and BAR-Lac scores for stratifying the risk of EAF. Conclusions: MEAF, King-PNF and BAR-Lac were validated as practical and effective risk assessment tools of PNF. King-PNF score outperformed MEAF and BAR-Lac in predicting PNF and EAF within 6 months. BAR-Lac score had a huge advantage in the prediction for PNF without post-transplant variables. Proper use

BACKGROUND: Liver biopsy plays an important role inaccurate diagnosis of various liver diseases in children andliver damages caused by systemic illnesses. This study wasdesigned to evaluate the value of liver biopsy in diagnosis ofliver diseases in children and explore the relationship be-tween their pathological changes and clinical ***: One-second liver biopsy was performed in1023 pediatric patients with liver diseases at our departmentfrom 1983 to 2000. Diagnosis of viral hepatitis was based onthe diagnostic criteria formulated by the Chinese Society ofInfectious and Parasitic Diseases in 1995. Since the Cenozoic,the Tibetan Plateau has experienced large-scale uplift and outgrowth due to the India-Asia ***,the mechanism and timing of these tectonic processes still remain ***,using apatite fission track dating and inverse thermal modeling,we explore the mechanism of different phases of rapid cooling for different batholiths and intrusions in the southeastern Tibetan *** contrast to previous views,we find that the coeval granitic batholith exposed in the same tectonic zone experienced differential fast uplift in different sites,indicating that the present Tibetan Plateau was the result of differential uplift rather than the entire lithosphere uplift related to lithospheric collapse during Cenozoic *** addition,we also suggest that the 5-2 Ma mantle-related magmatism should be regarded as the critical trigger for the widely coeval cooling event in the southeastern Tibetan Plateau,because it led to the increase in atmospheric CO_(2)level and a hotter upper crust than before,which are efficient for suddenly fast rock weathering and ***,we propose that the current landform of the southeastern Tibetan Plateau was the combined influences of tectonic and climate.

Altered oceanic crust source for the alkaline rocks with superchondritic Nb/Ta ratios due to the steep subduction

The cause resulting in alkaline rocks with superchondritic Nb/Ta ratios remains a geochemical enigma. This paper present zircon and apatite geochronology， mineralogy， geochemistry， and Nd-Hf-Zn isotope investigation on the Ejinao nepheline syenite from South China to constrain the petrogenesis of alkaline rocks. The occurrence of alkaline minerals， including alkaline feldspar， arfvedsonite， and nepheline， indicate an alkaline feature of the Ejinao nepheline syenite. Zircon and apatite from the rock show U-Pb concordia age of 135.4±0.9 Ma and 137.5±5.8Ma， respectively， suggesting generation in the Early Cretaceous. The rock is characterized by low MgO （0.17 wt.%–0.26 wt.%） contents， but high Fe2O3T（4.66 wt.%–6.16 wt.%） and total alkalis (Na2O + K2O = 12.1 wt.%–13.1 wt.%) contents， consistent with the melts from subducting oceanic crust rather than mantle peridotite. The rock has low TiO2（0.13 wt.%–0.21 wt.%） contents and superchondritic Nb/Ta and Zr/Hf ratios， resulting from rutile residue in the source area. The εNd（t）（-1.35 to -1.09）， εHf（t）（-3.03 to -1.52）， and δ66Zn （0.32‰ to 0.34‰） values of the nepheline syenite manifest the involvement of 15%–20% carbonate-bearing sediments in the altered oceanic crust. Geochemical modeling further reveals that the nepheline syenite was sourced from 10%–20% melting of such a source. This superchondritic Nb/Ta nepheline syenite was generated during the steep subduction of the Paleo-Pacific Ocean， which is needed to bring oceanic slab to a hot mantle and resulted in the altered oceanic crust melting. Our study highlights that the altered oceanic crust represents a novel source for superchondritic Nb/Ta alkaline rocks.

The urgent demand of extreme(ultra-high/low)thermal conductivity materials is triggered by the high-power device,where exploring the theories and mechanisms of regulating thermal transport properties plays a key ***,we elaborately investigate the effect of vertical(out-of-plane)piezoelectric characteristics on thermal transport,which is historically *** different stacking-order(AA and AB)bilayer boron nitride(Bi-BN)in two-dimensional(2D)materials are selected as study *** performing state-of-the-art first-principles calculations,it is found that the polarization charge along the out-of-plane orientation ascends significantly with the increasing piezoelectric response in AB stacked Bi-BN(Bi-BN-AB)followed by the enhanced interlayer B–N atomic ***,the amplitude of phonon anharmonicity in Bi-BN-AB increases larger than that in the AA stacked Bi-BN(Bi-BN-AA),resulting in the dramatic weakening of the thermal conductivity by 20.34%under 18%*** research reveals the significant role of the vertical(out-of-plane)piezoelectric characteristic in regulating thermal transport and provides new insight into accurately exploring the thermal transport performance of 2D van der Waals materials.
