Zn release from fluid inclusions in a natural sphalerite

The type, size, and compositions of fluid inclusions in a natural sphalerite were investigated and the total concentration of Zn released from the fluid inclusions was measured. To compare the total concentration of Zn released from the fluid inclusions with that dissolved from the sphalerite itself, dissolution experiments and theoretical calculations for the dissolution equilibrium of the sphalerite were also performed. The results indicate that large numbers of fluid inclusions with various sizes exist in the sphalerite, which can be divided into four types, i.e., pure gaseous inclusions, pure liquid inclusions, gas-liquid inclusions, and gas-liquid inclusions containing solid minerals. These inclusions were broken open during the grinding process, and their compositions were released to the solution. The total concentration of Zn released from these inclusions reaches 18.35×10^-6 mol/L, which is much higher than that of Zn dissolved from the sphalerite itself （1.93×10^-6 mol/L） and the theoretical calculation value （2.73×10^-8 mol/L）.

Ni-P-SiC composite coatings were prepared under a given bath composition and operation parameters of electroless plating. The tribological properties of the Ni-P-SiC composite coatings after annealing at 400℃ for 1 h were tested in rolling/sliding contact under boundary lubrication condition using a two-roller tribometer. The measurement contained friction coefficient, contact surface temperature, contact electrical resistance, and wear rate of the Ni-P-SiC composite coatings under various slide to roll ratios, loads, and rolling speeds. For the simultaneous examination of the effect of the chosen parameters on the tribological properties of the Ni-P-SiC composite coatings, an orthogonal regression experimental design method was used.

The Taguchi method was used to obtain the optimum electrodeposition parameters for the synthesis of the CuInSe2 thin film for solar cells. The parameters consist of annealing temperature, current density, CuCl2 concentration, FeCl3 concentration, H2SeO3 concentration, TEA amount, pH value, and deposition time. The experiments were carried out according to an L18（2^13^7） table An X-ray diffractometer （XRD） and a scanning electron microscope （SEM） were respectively used to analyze the phases and observe the microstructure and the grain size of the CuInSe2 film before and after annealing treatment. The results showed that the CuInSe2 phase was deposited with a preferred plane （112） parallel to the substrate surface. The optimum parameters are as follows： current density, 7 mA/cm^2; CuCl2 concentration, 10 mM; FeCl3 concentration, 50 mM; H2SeO3 concentration, 15 mM; TEA amount, 0 mL; pH value, 1.65; deposition time, 10 min; and annealing temperature, 500℃.

A series of isomorphic lanthanide coordination polymers [Ln（Ⅲ）（MBP）2（NO3）2（Br）- 2C3H60] [Ln=Eu, Tb, Er, Yb, and Gd; MBP=N,N＇-methylene-bis（pyridin-4-0ne）] featuring polycatenated sql cationic network and incorporated bromide counter ion were prepared. Their visible and near-infrared （NIR） luminescence properties were characterized by steady-state excitation and emission spectra, as well as luminescence lifetimes and quantum yields. The D2d dodecahedron coordination geometry causes visible light excitations and strongly monochromatic emissions. The external heavy-atom environment induces remarkable en- hancement on the NIR emissions. The sensitization processes are revealed by analyzing the electronic properties of MBP ligand.

Lithium argyrodites with high ionic conductivity and low cost are considered as one of the most prospective solid electrolytes for all-solid-state lithium ***,the poor chemical stability and compatibility with lithium metal limit their ***,Li5.4PS4.4Cl1.4I0.2solid electrolyte with high ionic conductivity of 11.49 m S cm-1and improved chemical stability is synthesized by iodine *** ultra-thin Li5.4PS4.4Cl1.4I0.2membrane with thickness of 10μm can be obtained by wet coating process,exhibiting a high ionic conductivity of 2.09 mS cm-1and low areal resistance of 1.17Ω***,iodine doping could in-situ form LiI at the lithium/electrolyte interface and improve the critical current density of Li5.4PS4.4Cl1.6from 0.8 to 1.35 mA *** resultant LiCoO2/Li5.4PS4.4Cl1.4I0.2/Li battery shows excellent cycling stability at 1 C,with a reversible specific capacity of 110.1 mA h g-1and a retention of 80.5% after 1000 *** addition,the assembled LiCoO2/Li5.4PS4.4Cl1.4I0.2membrane/Li pouch cell delivers an initial discharge capacity of 110.4 mA h g-1and 80.5% capacity retention after 100 cycles.

We present an overview of our recent theoretical studies on the quantum phenomena of the spin-1 Bose Einstein condensates, including the phase diagram, soliton solutions and the formation of the topological spin textures. A brief exploration of the effects of spin-orbit coupling on the ground-state properties is given. We put forward proposals by using the transmission spectra of an optical cavity to probe the quantum ground states： the ferromagnetic and polar phases. Quasi-one-dimension solitons and ring dark solitons are studied. It is predicted that characteristics of the magnetic solitons in optical lattice can be tuned by controlling the long-range light-induced and static magnetic dipole- dipole interactions; solutions of single-component magnetic and single-, two-, three-components polar solitons are found; ring dark solitons in spin-1 condensates are predicted to live longer lifetimes than that in their scalar counterparts. In the formation of spin textures, we have considered the theoretical model of a rapidly quenched and fast rotating trapped spin-1 Bose Einstein condensate, whose dynamics can be studied by solving the stochastic projected Gross-Pitaevskii equations. Spontaneous generation of nontrivial topological defects, such as the hexagonal lattice skyrmions and square lattice of half-quantized vortices was predicted. In particular, crystallization of merons （half skyrmions） can be generated in the presence of spin-orbit coupling.

Synthesis of Mesoporous Carbon Monolith by Direct Carbonization of Compressed Sucrose/Silica Composite

Mesoporous carbon monolith was synthesized by the direct carbonization of compressed sucrose/silica composite, which was prepared by using sol-gel method. The structural and textural properties of the materials were investigated by XRD, DRIFT, N2-adsorption and SEM. The characterization study shows that the resultant carbon monolith possesses a relatively high surface area, large pore volume and well interconnected pore system. Addition of a certain amount of citric acid or aluminum nitrate into the sol-gel precursor of sucrose/silica composite could considerably change the structure parameters of the carbon monolith.
