A comparative study of the effects of ventilation-purification strategies on air quality and energy consumption in Beijing,China

In countries suffering from heavy ambient air pollution,ventilation is a problem,as ventilation intakes outdoor air pollutants,such as particulate matter with an aerodynamic diameter less than 2.5 μm(PM_(2.5)),while removing indoor air ***,it is important to identify appropriate ventilation-purification strategies to build healthy indoor environments with low energy *** study reports the comparison of two sets of strategies,i.e.,mechanical ventilation with filters and natural ventilation with indoor air cleaners,in respect to energy consumption and the PMzs and carbon dioxide(CO_(2))exposure of occupants in a typical apartment in Beijing,China.A dynamic mass balance model was employed to calculate the PM2.5 and CO_(2) exposure concentrations,while the energy consumption of heating and cooling was simulated with the Designer's Simulation *** was found that natural ventilation with air cleaners provided lower PIVhs exposure compared with that of mechanical ventilation with filters;however,mechanical ventilation achieved a lower CO_(2) exposure *** annual cooling,heating,and fan energy consumption of natural ventilation strategies are lower than those of mechanical ventilation *** respect to natural ventilation,an infiltration rate of 0.3-0.4 h^(-1)was the preferred setting,which led to low PM23 and CO_(2) exposure with lower energy *** basic requirements for controlling indoor PM2.5 could be met if the threshold is set at 25 pg/*** results provide guidelines on how to combine multiple ventilation purification strategies to improve indoor air quality with lower energy usage.

Air pollution is one of the most challenging environmental issues in the *** has achieved remarkable success in improving air quality in last decade as a result of aggressive air pollution control ***,the average fine particulate matter(PM2.5)concentration in China is still about six times of the World Health Organization(WHO)Global Air Quality Guidelines(AQG)and causing significant human health *** emission reductions of multiple air pollutants are required for China to achieve the *** we identify the major challenges in future air quality improvement and propose corresponding control *** main challenges include the persistently high health risk attributed to PM2.5 pollution,the excessively loose air quality standards,and coordinated control of air pollution,greenhouse gases(GHGs)emissions and emerging *** further improve air quality and protect human health,a health-oriented air pollution control strategy shall be implemented by tightening the air quality standards as well as optimizing emission reduction pathways based on the health risks of various *** the meantime,an“oneatmosphere”concept shall be adopted to strengthen the synergistic control of air pollutants and GHGs and the control of non-combustion sources and emerging pollutants shall be enhanced.

Hyperspectral Image Classification Based on A Multi-Scale Weighted Kernel Network

Recently, many deep learning models have shown excellent performance in hyperspectral image(HSI) classification. Among them, networks with multiple convolution kernels of different sizes have been proved to achieve richer receptive fields and extract more representative features than those with a single convolution kernel. However, in most networks, different-sized convolution kernels are usually used directly on multibranch structures, and the image features extracted from them are fused directly and simply. In this paper, to fully and adaptively explore the multiscale information in both spectral and spatial domains of HSI, a novel multi-scale weighted kernel network(MSWKNet) based on an adaptive receptive field is proposed. First, the original HSI cubic patches are transformed to the input features by combining the principal component analysis and one-dimensional spectral convolution. Then, a three-branch network with different convolution kernels is designed to convolve the input features, and adaptively adjust the size of the receptive field through the attention mechanism of each branch. Finally, the features extracted from each branch are fused together for the task of *** on three well-known hyperspectral data sets show that MSWKNet outperforms many deep learning networks in HSI classification.

Screening and identifkation of proteins interacting with nudeostemin

AIM： To identify the proteins interacting with nucleostemin （NS）, thereby gaining an insight into the function of NS. METHODS： Yeast two-hybrid assay was performed to screen a human placenta cDNA library with the full length of NS as a bait. X-Gal assay and β-galactosidase filter assay were subsequently conducted to check the positive clones and the gene was identified by DNA sequencing. To further confirm the interaction of two proteins, the DNA fragment coding NS and the DNA fragment isolated from the positive clone were inserted into the mammalian expression vector pcDNA3 and pcDNA3-myc, respectively. Then, two plasmids were cotransfected into the COS-7 cells by DEAE-dextron. The total protein from the cotransfected cells was extracted and coimmunoprecipitation and Western blot were performed with suitable antibodies sequentially. RESULTS： Two positive clones that interacted with NS were obtained from human placenta cDNA library. One was an alpha isoform of human protein phosphatase 2 regulatory subunit B （B56）（PPP2RSA） and the other was a novel gene being highly homologous to the gene associated with spondylo paralysis. The co-immunoprecipitation also showed that NS specifically interacted with PPP2R5A. CONCLUSION： NS and PPP2R5A interact in yeast and mammalian cells, respectively, which is helpful for addressing the function of NS in cancer development and progression.

Tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC) is a dominantly inherited disorder which characterized by the growth of harmatomatous in multiple organs. Unlike the common development of renal angiomyolipoma, hepatic angiomyolipoma rarely occur in patients with TSC. We report here a patient with hepatic angiomyolipomas and concurrent hepatocellular carcinoma in TSC. This represents the first reported case in English literature. In this patient, multiple hepatic angiomyolipomas were diagnosed with recognition of their fat components and typical clinical settings. Hepatocellular carcinoma in the left liver lobe was definitely diagnosed by US guided biopsy. In such clinical settings, fat containing lesions in liver can be reasonably treated as angiomyolipomas, but non fat containing lesions must be differentiated from hepatocellular carcinoma, imaging guided biopsy can be adopted to confirm the diagnosis.

Active event-driven reliable defense control for interconnected nonlinear systems under actuator faults and denial-of-service attacks

This study investigates the reliable control design for a class of interconnected nonlinear systems subjected to actuator faults, disturbances, and denial-of-service(DoS) attacks. DoS attacks are carried out in both sensor and controller channels. An integrated event-observer-based security sliding mode fault-tolerant control approach is presented to defend against DoS attacks and compensate for faults and *** be more specific, the fuzzy logic system(FLS) theory is used to approximate the unknown nonlinear component first. Using the output measurement and sensor channel triggered output information, an FLS aided nonlinear estimator is put forward, in which the faults and disturbances are reconstructed. Then, to achieve the trajectory tracking purpose in the presence of DoS attacks, actuator faults, and disturbances, an adaptive sliding mode manifold is established, based on which an event-driven mechanism is established and a reliable controller is designed. In the controller scheme, the fault compensation and disturbance rejection mechanisms are also included synchronously. The tracking ability is analyzed using the Lyapunov method and the FLS theory, followed by applications to an interconnected power network system and an interconnected inverted pendulum system to demonstrate the applicability of the proposed method.

We theoretically study the four-wave mixing(FWM)response in a quantum dot-cavity coupling system,where a two-level quantum dot(QD)is placed in an optical cavity while the cavity mode is coupled to the nanomechanical resonator via radiation *** influences of the QD-cavity coupling strength,the Rabi coupling strength of the QD,and the power of the pump light on the FWM intensity are mainly *** numerical results show that the FWM intensity in this hybrid system can be significantly enhanced by increasing the QD-cavity coupling *** addition,the FWM intensity can be effectively modulated by the Rabi coupling strength and the pump ***,the effects of the cavity decay rate and the cavitypump detuning on the FWM signal are also *** obtained results may have potential applications in the fields of quantum optics and quantum information science.

Pre-expanded Muscle-sparing Latissimus Dorsi Flaps for Reconstruction of Severe Scar Contractures on the Anterior Chest

Evasion guidance algorithms for air-breathing hypersonic vehicles in three-player pursuit-evasion games
