Provenance variations in proximate principles,mineral matter,total phenols and phytochemicals of Melia dubia drupes:an unexplored alternate livestock feed stock

This research was carried out on nine provenances from the north Western Ghats to quantify proximate principles,mineral matter,total phenols and other phytochemicals in Melia dubia drupe *** biometric,biomass attributes,proximate principles,mineral matter and total phenols diff ered signifi cantly among the *** average drupe length and width was 26.5 and 22.3 mm,*** drupe and pulp fresh weight,pulp dry weight and stone weight were 783.1,552.1,165.1,and 179.8 g/100 drupes,***,dry matter and moisture per cent were 70.5%,29.9%and 70.0%,*** crude fi bre,protein,ether extract,total ash and nitrogen-free extract were 8.3%,7.6%,5.1%,6.3%,and 72.6%,*** Ca,Mg,P and K levels were 0.5%,0.2%,0.2%,and 2.0%,*** phenols were 0.4%.Cluster analysis showed that the study area may be divided into three distinct provenances,each having diff erent drupe traits and proximate composition,including mineral ***-chromatography mass-spectrometry analysis revealed 27 phytochemicals,many of which possess benefi cial biological *** implications of this provenance variation study should be useful for future improvement in terms of better drupe pulp nutrition for livestock *** study suggests that *** pulp could be categorized as a good feed source with low fi bre,energy,fat and mineral *** proximate parameters,mineral matter content and total phenols are within prescribed limits.

Renin-angiotensin system blockers-SGLT2 inhibitorsmineralocorticoid receptor antagonists in diabetic kidney disease:A tale of the past two decades!

Several pharmacological agents to prevent the progression of diabetic kidney disease(DKD)have been tested in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM)in the past two *** the exception of renin-angiotensin system blockers that have shown a significant reduction in the progression of DKD in 2001,no other pharmacological agent tested in the past two decades have shown any clinically meaningful ***,the sodium-glucose cotransporter-2 inhibitor(SGLT-2i),canagliflozin,has shown a significant reduction in the composite of hard renal and cardiovascular(Cv)endpoints including progression of end-stage kidney disease in patients with DKD with T2DM at the top of reninangiotensin system blocker *** SGLT-2i,dapagliflozin,has also shown a significant reduction in the composite of renal and Cv endpoints including death in patients with chronic kidney disease(CKD),regardless of T2DM *** positive findings on renal outcomes were recently reported as a top-line result of the empagliflozin trial in patients with CKD regardless of ***,the full results of this trial have not yet been *** the use of older steroidal mineralocorticoid receptor antagonists(MRAs)such as spironolactone in DKD is associated with a significant reduction in albuminuria outcomes,a novel non-steroidal MRA finerenone has additionally shown a significant reduction in the composite of hard renal and Cv endpoints in patients with DKD and T2DM,with reasonably acceptable side effects.

Image processing based real-time variable-rate chemical spraying system for disease control in paddy crop

The agrochemical applicationwith conventional sprayers results inwastage of applied chemicals,which not only increases the economic losses but also pollutes the *** order to overcome these drawbacks,an image processing based real-time variable-rate chemical spraying systemwas developed for the precise application of agrochemicals in diseased paddy crop based on crop disease severity *** developed system comprised ofweb cameras for image acquisition,laptop for image processing,microcontroller for controlling the system functioning,and solenoid valve assisted spraying *** chromatic aberration(CA)based image segmentation method was used to detect the diseased region of paddy *** system further calculated the disease severity level of paddy plants,based onwhich the solenoid valves remained on for a specific timeduration so that the required amount of agrochemical could be sprayed on the diseased paddy *** performance of developed sprayer prototype was evaluated in the variable-rate application(vRA)and constant-rate application(CRA)*** field testing results showed a minimum 33.88%reduction in applied chemical while operating in the vRA mode as compared with the CRA ***,the developed systemappears promising and could be used extensively to reduce the cost of pest management as well as to control environmental pollution due to such agrochemicals.

Hot-corrosion behavior of Cr_2O_3–CNT-coated ASTM-SA213-T22 steel in a molten salt environment at 700°C

The present work investigates the hot-corrosion behavior of carbon nanotube(CNT)-reinforced chromium oxide coatings on boiler steel in a molten salt(Na_2SO_4–60 wt%v_2O_5) environment at 700°C under cyclic conditions. The coatings were deposited via the high-velocity oxygen fuel process. The uncoated and coated steel samples were subjected to hot corrosion in a silicon tube furnace at 700°C for 50 cycles. The kinetics of the corrosion behavior was analyzed through mass-gain measurements after each cycle. The corrosion products were analyzed by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, and energy-dispersive X-ray analysis techniques. The results revealed that uncoated steel suffered spallation of scale because of the formation of nonprotective Fe_2O_3 scale. The coated steel samples exhibited lower mass gains with better adhesiveness of oxide scale with the steel alloy until the end of exposure. The CNT-reinforced coatings were concluded to provide better corrosion resistance in the hot-corrosion environment because of the uniform dispersion of CNTs in the coating matrix and the formation of protective chromium oxides in the scale.

Surface ozone scenario and air quality in the north-central part of India

Tropospheric pollutants including surface ozone（O3）, nitrogen dioxide（NO2）, carbon monoxide（CO） and meteorological parameters were measured at a traffic junction（78°2′ E and 27°11′ N） in Agra, India from January 2012 to December 2012. Temporal analysis of pollutants suggests that annual average mixing ratios of tropospheric pollutants were： O3— 22.97 ± 23.36 ppbv,NO2— 19.84 ± 16.71 ppb v and CO — 0.91 ± 0.86 ppm v, with seasonal variations of O3 having maximum mixing ratio during summer season（32.41 ± 19.31 ppbv）, whereas lowest was found in post-monsoon season（8.74 ± 3.8 ppbv）. O3 precursors： NO2 and CO, showed inverse relationship with O3. Seasonal variation and high O3 episodes during summer are associated with meteorological parameters such as high solar radiation, atmospheric temperature and transboundary transport. The interdependence of these variables showed a link between the daytime mixing ratios of O3 with the nighttime level of NO2. The mixing ratios of CO and NO2 showed tight correlations, which confirms the influence of vehicular emissions combined with other anthropogenic activities due to office/working hours, shallowing, and widening of boundary layer. FLEXTRA backward trajectories for the O3 episode days clearly indicate the transport from the NW and W to S/SE and SW direction at Agra in different seasons.

Shielding effectiveness of boron-containing ores in Liaoning province of China against gamma rays and thermal neutrons

In this study, the mass attenuation coefficient of boron-containing ores in the Liaoning province of China was calculated using Win XCOM software to investigate the shielding effectiveness of these ores against gamma rays. The mass attenuation coefficients were also calculated using MCNP-4 B code and compared with Win XCOM results; consequently, a good consistency between the results of Win XCOM and MCNP-4 B was observed. Furthermore, the G-P fitting method was used to evaluate the values of exposure buildup factor(EBF) in the energy range of 0.015–15 Me v up to 40 mean free paths. Among the selected ores, boron-bearing iron concentrate ore(M3)was determined to be the best gamma ray shielding ore owing to its higher values of mass attenuation coefficient and equivalent atomic number and lower value of ***, American Evaluated Nuclear Data File(ENDF/B-vII) was used to analyze the shielding effectivenessagainst thermal neutrons. It was determined that Szaibelyite(M2) is the best thermal neutron shielding *** study would be useful for demonstrating the potential of boron-containing ores for applications in the field of nuclear engineering and technology.
