This paper deals with the theoretic.l investigation of a fundamental problem of magne- tohydrodynamic.（MHD） flow of blood in a c.pillary in the presenc. of thermal radiation and c.emic.l reac.ion. The unsteadiness in the flow and temperature fields is c.used by the time-dependenc. of the stretc.ing veloc.ty and the surfac. temperature. The fluid is c.nsidered to be non-Newtonian, whose flow is governed by the equation of a third-order fluid. The problem is first reduc.d to solving a system of c.upled nonlinear differential equations involving several parameters. c.nsidering blood as an elec.ric.lly c.nduc.ing fluid and using the present analysis, an attempt is made to c.mpute some parameters of the blood flow by developing a suitable numeric.l method and by devising an appropri- ate finite differenc. sc.eme. The c.mputational results are presented in graphic.l form, and thereby some theoretic.l predic.ions are made with respec. to the hemodynamic.l flow of the blood in a hyperthermal state under the ac.ion of a magnetic.field. c.m- putational results for the variation in veloc.ty, temperature, c.nc.ntration, skin-fric.ion c.efi^ic.ent, Nusselt number and Sherwood number are presented in graphic.l/tabular form. Sinc. the study takes c.re of thermal radiation in blood flow, the results reported here are likely to have an important bearing on the therapeutic.proc.dure of hyperthermia, partic.larly in understanding blood flow and heat transfer in c.pillaries.

The magnetohydrodynamic.(MHD) graphene-polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) nanofluid flow between two squeezing parallel plates in the presenc. of thermal radiation effec.s is investigated. The energy effic.enc. of the system via the Bejan number is studied extensively. The governing partial differential equations are c.nverted by using the similarity transformations into a set of c.upled ordinary differential equations. The set of these c.nverted equations is solved by using the differential transform method (DTM). The entropy generation in terms of the Bejan number, the c.effic.ent of skin-fric.ion, and the heat transfer rate is furthermore investigated under the effec.s of various physic.l parameters of interest. The present study shows that the Bejan number, the veloc.ty and thermal profiles, and the rate of heat transfer dec.ease with a rise in the Deborah number De while the skin-fric.ion c.effic.ent inc.eases. It is also observed that the entropy generation due to fric.ional forc.s is higher than that due to thermal effec.s. Thus, the study bears the potential applic.tion in powder tec.nology as well as in biomedic.l engineering.

This paper investigates the effec.s of thermal radiation on the magnetohy- drodynamic.（MHD） flow and heat transfer over a nonlinear shrinking porous sheet. The surfac. veloc.ty of the shrinking sheet and the transverse magnetic.field are assumed to vary as a power func.ion of the distanc. from the origin. The temperature dependent visc.sity and the thermal c.nduc.ivity are also assumed to vary as an inverse func.ion and a linear func.ion of the temperature, respec.ively. A generalized similarity transfor- mation is used to reduc. the governing partial differential equations to their nonlinear c.upled ordinary differential equations, and is solved numeric.lly by using a finite differenc. sc.eme. The numeric.l results c.nc.rn with the veloc.ty and temperature profiles as well as the loc.l skin-fric.ion c.effic.ent and the rate of the heat transfer at the porous sheet for different values of several physic.l parameters of interest.

The paper deals with the theoretic.l investigation of a fundamental problem of biomaguetic.fluid flow through a porous medium subjec. to a magnetic.field by using the princ.ples of biomagnetic.fluid dynamic. （BFD）. The study pertains to a situation where magnetization of the fluid varies with temperature. The fluid is c.nsidered to be non-Newtonian, whose flow is governed by the equation of a sec.nd-grade visc.elastic.fluid. The walls of the c.annel are assumed to be stretc.able, where the surfac. veloc.ty is proportional to the longitudinal distanc. from the origin of c.ordinates. The problem is first reduc.d to solving a system of c.upled nonlinear differential equations involving seven parameters. c.nsidering blood as a biomagnetic.fluid and using the present analysis, an attempt is made to c.mpute some parameters of the blood flow by developing a suitable numeric.l method and by devising an appropriate finite differenc. sc.eme. The c.mputational results are presented in graphic.l form, and thereby some theoretic.l predic.ions are made with respec. to the hemodynamic.l flow of the blood in a hyperthermal state under the ac.ion of a magnetic.field. The results c.early indic.te that the presenc. of a magnetic.dipole bears the potential so as to affec. the c.arac.eristic. of the blood flow in arteries to a signific.nt extent during the therapeutic.proc.dure of elec.romagnetic.hyperthermia. The study will attrac. the attention of c.inic.ans, to whom the results would be useful in the treatment of c.nc.r patients by the method of elec.romagnetic.hyperthermia.

The elec.roosmotic.flow of a mic.opolar fluid in a mic.oc.annel bounded by two parallel porous plates undergoing periodic.vibration is studied. The equations for c.nservation of linear and angular momentums and Gauss＇s law of c.arge distribution are solved within the framework of the Debye-Hüc.el approximation. The fluid veloc.ty and mic.orotation are assumed to depend linearly on the Reynolds number. The study shows that the amplitude of mic.orotation is highly sensitive to the c.anges in the magnitude of the suc.ion veloc.ty and the width of the mic.oc.annel. An inc.ease in the mic.opolar parameter gives rise to a dec.ease in the amplitude of mic.orotation. Numeric.l estimates reveal that the mic.orotation of the suspended mic.oelements in blood also plays an important role in c.ntrolling the elec.ro-osmotic.lly ac.uated flow dynamic. in mic.obio-fluidic.devic.s.

The boundary layer flow of a steady inc.mpressible and visc.-elastic.fluid with short memory (obeying Walters’ B fluid model) passing over a hot vertic.l porous plate has been investigated in the presenc. of transverse magnetic.field. The momentum and energy equations are reduc.d to c.uple non-linear partial differential equations along with the boundary c.nditions by using a suitable similarity transformation. These partial differential equations are transformed to a system of c.upled non-linear ordinary differential equations by employing a perturbation tec.nique. The system is solved by developing a suitable numeric.l proc.dure suc. as implic.t finite differenc. sc.eme along with Newton’s linearization method. The c.mputational results for the flow quantities have presented graphic.lly for the effec.s of thermal radiation, visc.us dissipation, heat generation/absorption, visc.-elastic.ty, Hartmann number and the permeability parameter. Results demonstrated that Prandtl number has more pronounc.ng effec. on the temperature distribution rather than the visc.sity parameter as well as the thermal radiation parameter. Further the veloc.ty gradient c.anges signific.ntly due to the presenc. of temperature dependent variable visc.sity.
