1993年底,大约400万1b.拟废弃固体物质被注入到得克萨斯Jasper附近4500ft深度处的下Frio砂岩中。随后在5d时间内记录了2400多个地震事件。注入分四步进行,一步是压裂,其它三步都是固体物质注入,每步注入量相等,持续时间都为24h左右。本文概述了地震特征在不同位置和不同时间的变化。在注入期间引发的地震在空间和时间上的分布是复杂的,它不同于脆性介质简单断裂的预期特征。我们认为,将充满泥浆的固体物质间歇式注入软地层可通过多种机制引起断裂。地震事件的发生时间和强度表明,在裂缝重新膨胀期间,裂缝系统中贮存了能量,能量聚集达到顶峰时发生大的地震事件,破裂处的裂缝迅速增大。注入的晚期阶段,在远离主裂缝轴向位置处只有较少且较小的事件发生,晚期的这些事件从400ft深处的裂缝开始朝注入井偏移。它们可能是因流体压力效应引起的剪切断裂所致。

Resin flow was measured in red-cockaded woodpecker (Picoides b.realis Vieillot) clusters in longleaf pine (Pinus palustris Mill.) in the southern region of the Angelina National Forest, Texas. Resin flow (ml) at 1.4 m height over 24 hrs was measured from one 2.5 cm punch through the phloem b.tween 0700 and 1000 hrs from March 1999 to Septemb.r 2000, for a total of 9 measurements per tree. Resin was sampled in naturally active cavity trees, artificial (insert) active, natural inactive, artificial inactive and control pines (84 sample trees). Resin flow pattern was significantly different during the year, b.t not significantly different in the cavity tree type resin flow. Cavity trees in the 90th percentile (>33.0 ml resin in 24 hrs) were defined as super resin producing. High average resin flows in August 1999 and Septemb.r 2000 indicate when to sample resin for potential cavity trees. Regression equations were produced to estimate future resin production.

Objective: To test the hypothesis that the type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) phenotype in an indigenous population is characterized by proportionally short legs and obesity. Methods: Anthropometric characteristics were compared in females and males with T2DM (n = 20, n = 8, respectively) and without T2DM (n = 117, n = 93, respectively). Factor analysis derived dimensions were regressed on T2DM in logistic regression. Results: Weight, sitting height ratio and hip circumference were significantly lower (p Conclusion: Reduced muscle strength/mass and increased central adiposity characterize the T2DM phenotype.

b.oactivity-guided phytochemical investigation of Podocarpus neriifolius ***.(Podocarpaceae)has led to the isolation of one new(2)and three known(1,3,and 4)b.type podolactones,along with three totarane-type diterpenes(5-7).Their structures were determined b. interpretation of High Resolution ElectroSpray Ionization Mass Spectrometry(HRESIMS)and 1D and 2D NMR data,and comparison with the values reported in the *** structure of compound 1,previously identifed as 3-deoxy-2α-hydroxynagilactone E(8),was revised as its 2β-epimer,which has b.en reported recently as a new *** of the isolates were evaluated for their antiproliferative activity against a panel of four human cancer cell lines,namely,ovarian(OVCAR3),b.east(MDA-Mb.231),colon(HT-29),and melanoma(MDA-Mb.435),and compounds 1 and 3 were found to b. cytotoxic with IC_(50) values in the low micromolar range for most of the cell lines *** major compound,inumakilactone A(3),was further tested in vivo using the HT-29,MDA-Mb.435,and OVCAR3 cells in a murine hollow fb.r model,for the frst time.
