AIM: To assist in the selection of suitable nomograms for obtaining desired predictions in daily ***: We conducted electronic searches for journal articles on colorectal cancer(CRC)-associated nomograms using the search terms colon/rectal/colorectal/nomogram. Of 174 articles initially found, we retrieved 28 studies in which a nomogram for CRC was ***: We discuss the currently available CRCassociated nomograms, including those that predict the oncological prognosis, the short-term outcome of treatments, such as surgery or neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy, and the future development of CRC. Developing nomograms always presents a dilemma. On the one hand, the desire to cover as wide a patient range as possible tends to produce nomograms that are too complex and yet have C-indexes that are not sufficiently high. Conversely, confining the target patients might impair the clinical applicability of constructed ***: The information provided in this review should be of use in selecting a nomogram suitable for obtaining desired predictions in daily clinical practice.

日立研发的真空断路器采用了免润滑油永磁复合式操作机构,有效地减少了维护保养的作业时间。这种操作机构的特点是结构简单,主要由复合式永磁机构、电容器和控制回路组成。在不使用线圈电流的情况下,永久磁铁的吸引力使真空断路器保持合闸状态。操作机构的机械零部件数量大幅降低,是传统弹簧操作机构零部件数量的14%。几乎所有连接部位均采用了固态润滑剂而非润滑油,有效减少定期润滑维护的工作。

The scattering and resonance reactions of ^22Mg＋p and ^22Mg＋α play crucial roles for studying deeply not only in the structure of proton-rich nuclei of ^23A1 and ^26Si but also for the interest of astrophysics. It is believed that ^22Mg nucleus is a waiting point in the αp-process of nucleosynthesis in novae. We supposed to perform direct measurement the ^22Mg＋α system in invert kinematics using radioactive ion （RI） beam. An 86-year-old man, diagnosed as having mycosis fungoides in May 2008 and treated with repeated radiation therapy, was admitted to our hospital for initiation of hemodialysis due to end-stage renal disease(ESRD) in April 2012. On admission, his corrected serum calcium level was 9.3 mg/d L, and his intact parathyroid hormone level was 121.9 pg/mL(normal range 13.9-78.5pg/mL), indicating secondary hyperparathyroidism due to ESRD. After starting hemodialysis, urinary volume diminished rapidly. The serum calcium level increased(12.7 mg/dL), and the intact parathyroid hormone level was suppressed(< 5 pg/m L), while the 1,25-dihy-droxyvitamin D3(calcitriol) level increased(114 pg/mL, normal range: 20.0-60.0 pg/m L) in June 2012. The possibilities of sarcoidosis and tuberculosis were ruled out. Skin biopsies from tumorous lesions revealed a diagnosis of granulomatous mycosis fungoides. The serum soluble interleukin-2 receptor levels and the degrees of skin lesions went in parallel with the increased serum calcium and calcitriol levels. Therefore, the patient was diagnosed as having calcitriol-induced hypercalcemia possibly associated with granulomatous mycosis fungoides. Granulomatous mycosis fungoides is rare, and its association with calcitriol-induced hypercalcemia has not been reported. Careful attention to calcium metabolism is needed in patients with granulomatous mycosis fungoides, especially in patients with ESRD.

The effect of chemotherapy on peritoneal carcinomatosis(PC) of gastric cancer remains ***,the intraperitoneal(IP) administration of taxanes [e.g.,paclitaxel(PTX) and docetaxel(DOC)] during the perioperative period has shown promising ***,we summarized the rationale and methodology for using IP chemotherapy with taxanes and reviewed the clinical *** administered taxanes remain in the IP space at an extremely high concentration for 48-72 *** drug directly infiltrates peritoneal metastatic nodules from the surface and then produces antitumor effects,making it ideal for IP *** are two types of perioperative IP chemotherapy with taxanes: neoadjuvant intraperitoneal and systemic chemotherapy and sequential perioperative intraperitoneal chemotherapy(SPIC).In SPIC,patients receive neoadjuvant IP chemotherapy and the same regimen of IP chemotherapy after cytoreductive surgery(CRS) until disease ***,a taxane dissolved in 500-1000 m L of saline at ordinary temperature is administered through an IP access port on an outpatient *** to phase Ⅰ?studies,the recommended doses(RD) are as follows: IP DOC,45-60 mg/m2; IP PTX [without intravenous(IV) PTX],80 mg/m2; and IP PTX(with IV PTX),20 mg/*** Ⅱ studies have reported a median survival time of 14.4-24.6 mo with a 1-year overall survival of 67%-78%.A phase Ⅲ study comparing S-1 in combination with IP and IV PTX to S-1 with IV cisplatin started in *** prognosis of patients who underwent CRS was better than that of those who did not; however,this was partly due to selection *** several phase Ⅱ studies have shown promising results,a randomized controlled study is needed to validate the effectiveness of IP chemotherapy with taxanes for PC of gastric cancer.

Introduction: We report the results of a prospective study of long-tern treatment with single-agent thalidomide in patients who had responded in a preceding trial of the use of thalidomide for relapsed/refractory myeloma. Patients and Methods: Nineteen patients were enrolled: 11 patients (57.9%) treated at a dosage of 100 mg/day;2 patients (10.5%) at a dosage of 200 mg/day;2 patients (10.5%) at a dosage of 300 mg/day;and 4 patients (21.1%) at a dosage of 400 mg/day. The median follow-up from the start of the preceding study was 3.0 years. At the time of entry to this study, 5 patients (26.3%) had partial response (PR), another 5 patients (26.3%) had a minimal response (MR), and the remaining 9 patients (47.4%) had shown no change (NC). Results: The cumulative MR rate was 78.9% (at the 32nd week) and the cumulative PR rate was 47.4% (at the 112th week). The median progression-free survival was 104 weeks and the median time to next treatment was 144 weeks. No patients experienced grade 4 or greater hematologic toxicity or grade 3 or greater non-hematologic toxicity. Conclusion: Long-term thalidomide maintenance therapy induced an increase in response rate, suppressed the progression to active myeloma without severe adverse events, and contributed to long survival with good activities of daily living.
