Recently the alternating twisted trilayer graphene is discovered to exhibit unconventional superconductivity,which motivates us to study the electronic structures and possible correlation effects for this class of alternating twisted multilayer graphene(ATMG)*** this work we consider generic ATMG systems with M-L-N stacking configurations,in which the M(L)graphene layers and the L(N)layers are twisted by an angleθ(−θ).Based on analysis from a simplified k⋅p model approach,we derive generic partition rules for the low-energy electronic structures,which exhibit various band dispersions including two pairs of flat bands and flat bands co-existing with various gapless Fermionic *** a mirror-symmetric ATMG system with doubled flat bands,we further find that Coulomb interactions may drive the system into a state with intertwined electric polarization and orbital magnetization orders,which can exhibit an interaction-driven orbital magnetoelectric effect.

Niobium oxide nanowire-deposited carbon fiber（CF） samples were prepared using a hydrothermal method with amorphous Nb2O5·nH2O as precursor. The physical properties of the samples were characterized by means of numerous techniques, including X-ray diffraction（XRD）, energy-dispersive spectroscopy（EDS）, scanning electron microscopy（SEM）, transmission electron microscopy（TEM）, selected-area electron diffraction（SAED）, UV–visible spectroscopy（UV–vis）, N2 adsorption–desorption, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy（FT-IR）, and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. The efficiency for the removal of Cr（VI） was *** such as pH value and initial Cr（VI） concentration could influence the Cr（VI） removal efficiency or adsorption capacity of the Nb2O5/carbon fiber sample obtained after hydrothermal treatment at 160°C for 14 hr. The maximal Cr（VI） adsorption capacity of the Nb2O5 nanowire/CF sample was 115 mg/g. This Nb2O5/CF sample also showed excellent photocatalytic activity and stability for the reduction of Cr（Ⅵ） under UV-light irradiation： the Cr（VI） removal efficiency reached 99.9% after UV-light irradiation for 1 hr and there was no significant decrease in photocatalytic performance after the use of the sample for 10 repeated cycles. Such excellent Cr（VI） adsorption capacity and photocatalytic performance was related to its high surface area,abundant surface hydroxyl groups, and good UV-light absorption ability.

Diamond, cubic boron nitride(c-BN), silicon(Si), and germanium(Ge), as examples of typical strong covalent materials, have been extensively investigated in recent decades, owing to their fundamental importance in material science and industry. However, an in-depth analysis of the character of these materials' mechanical behaviors under harsh service environments, such as high pressure, has yet to be conducted. Based on several mechanical criteria, the effect of pressure on the mechanical properties of these materials is comprehensively *** is demonstrated that, with respect to their intrinsic brittleness/ductile nature, all these materials exhibit ubiquitous pressure-enhanced ductility. By analyzing the strength variation under uniform deformation, together with the corresponding electronic structures, we reveal for the first time that the pressure-induced mechanical softening/weakening exhibits distinct characteristics between diamond and c-BN, owing to the differences in their abnormal charge-depletion evolution under applied strain, whereas a monotonous weakening phenomenon is observed in Si and Ge. Further investigation into dislocation-mediated plastic resistance indicates that the pressure-induced shuffle-set plane softening in diamond(c-BN), and weakening in Si(Ge), can be attributed to the reduction of antibonding states below the Fermi level, and an enhanced metallization, corresponding to the weakening of the bonds around the slipped plane with increasing pressure, respectively. These findings not only reveal the physical mechanism of pressure-induced softening/weakening in covalent materials, but also highlights the necessity of exploring strain-tunable electronic structures to emphasize the mechanical response in such covalent materials.

Oxygen evolution reaction (OER) still suffers from the bottleneck in electrocatalytic water splitting. Herein, in virtue of volcano plots drawn by theoretical calculation, the (001) facet was screened as the superb facet of orthorhombic CoSe_(2) for OER. Afterwards, CoSe_(2)(001) nanosheets were synthesized and the exposure ratio of (001) facet is controllable with thermodynamics methods effectively. The single-facet CoSe2(001) delivered an overpotential as low as 240 mV at 10 mA·cm^(−2) in 1 M KOH, which outperformed the bulk (380 mV) as well as other CoSe_(2)-base OER catalysts reported before. Especially, a shorter Co-Co path was observed in CoSe_(2)(001) by X-ray absorption spectroscopy. Further density functional theory (DFT) studies revealed that the reversible compression on the shorter Co-Co path could regulate the electronic structure of active sites during the OER process, and thus the energy barrier of the rate-determining step was reduced by 0.15 eV. This work could inspire more insights on the modification of electronic structure for OER electrocatalysts.

Measurement and correlation of solubility of 9-fluorenone in 11 pure organic solvents from T = 283.15 to 323.15 K

In this work, the solubility data of 9-fluorenone in 11 pure solvents(methanol, ethanol, n-propanol, isopropanol, n-butanol, iso-butanol, acetonitrile, ethyl formate, ethyl acetate, dimethyl sulfoxide, n-hexane)were measured by the gravimetric method from 278.15 K to 318.15 K under atmospheric pressure. The results showed that the solubility of 9-fluorenone in all tested solvents increased with the raised temperature. The solubility data were correlated by the modified Apelblat equation, λh model and NRTL(nonradom two fluid) model. The average relative deviation(ARD) correlated by three thermodynamic models in different solvents was all below 5%, which indicated that the three thermodynamic models fit the solubility data well. Furthermore, the mixing thermodynamic properties of 9-fluorenone in pure solvent systems were calculated via NRTL model. The results indicated the dissolution process of 9-fluorenone is spontaneous and entropically favorable. The solubility and the mixing thermodynamic properties provided in this paper would play an important role in industrial manufacture and follow-up operation of 9-fluorenone.

Vitamin C(VC)can greatly enhance the quality properties of dough and steamed bread in the food ***,there are few studies on the interaction between VC and gluten,and the mechanism of VC influencing the foaming capacity,emulsifiablity,and dynamic viscosity of gluten is not *** this study,different content of VC(0,1%,2%,3%,4%and 5%)was added to gluten to obtain VC-gluten dough samples(CK,GV1,GV2,GV3,GV4 and GV5),and the properties of the VC-gluten dough were *** showed that the increasing VC content lead to increase in the content of high-,medium-and low-molecular weight gluten,suggesting that VC improved the protein solubility of *** G'and G"values of dough containing VC were higher than those of the control with the increase of scanning *** foaming ability of gluten increased with the increase of VC *** of the dough of GV1 to GV 5 were significantly lower than that of the ***,VC could reduce the number of bubbles in gluten protein,when the VC content was less than 3%.In conclusion,VC might reduce the emulsifying characteristic and emulsifying stability of gluten,increase the solubility of gluten,and improve the dynamic viscosity of gluten dough by changing the content of disulfide bond in *** study hopes to not only improve the functional characteristics of gluten protein,but also provide the basis for future development and improvement of VC-enriched health foods.

As a surface functional material,super-hydrophobic coating has great application potential in wind turbine blade anti-icing,self-cleaning and drag *** this study,ZnO and SiO2 multi-scale superhydrophobic coatings with mechanical flexibility were prepared by embedding modified ZnO and SiO2 nanoparticles in *** prepared coating has a higher static water contact angle(CA is 153°)and a lower rolling angle(SA is 3.3°),showing excellent *** of its excellent superhydrophobic ability and micro-nano structure,the coating has good anti-icing *** the conditions of−10C and 60%relative humidity,the coating can delay the freezing time by 1511S,which is 10.7 times slower than the normal freezing *** importantly,due to the mechanical properties provided by SiO2 and the synergistic effect of micro-nano particles,the coating has excellent mechanical *** 10 wear tests,the contact angle of the coating is still as high as 141°and the rolling angle is 6.8°.This research provides a theoretical reference for the preparation of a mechanically stable coating with a simple preparation process,as well as a basic research on the anti-icing behavior of the coating.
