Non-adiabatic holonomic quantum operations in continuous variable systems

Quantum operations by utilizing the underlying geometric phases produced in physical systems are favoured due to their potential *** a system in a non-degenerate eigenstate undergoes an adiabatically cyclic evolution dominated by its Hamiltonian,it will get a geometric phase,referred to as the Berry *** a non-adiabatically cyclic evolution produces an Aharonov-Anandan geometric *** two types of Abelian geometric phases are extended to the non-Abelian cases,where the phase factors become matrix-valued and the transformations associated with different loops are *** and non-Abelian(holonomic)operations are prevalent in discrete variable systems,whose limited(say,two)energy levels,form the *** their developments in continuous systems have also been investigated,mainly due to that,bosonic modes(in,such as,cat states)with large Hilbert spaces,provide potential advantages in fault-tolerant quantum *** we propose a feasible scheme to realize non-adiabatic holonomic quantum logic operations in continuous variable systems with cat *** construct arbitrary single-qubit(two-qubit)gates with the combination of single-and two-photon drivings applied to a Kerr Parametric Oscillator(KPO)(the coupled KPOs).Our scheme relaxes the requirements of the previously proposed quantum geometric operation strategies in continuous variable systems,providing an effective way for quantum control.

Quantum systems that undergo quantum phase transitions exhibit divergent susceptibility and can be exploited as probes to estimate physical *** generalize the dynamic framework for criticality-enhanced quantum sensing by the quantum Rabi model(QRM)to its anisotropic counterpart and derive the correspondingly analytical expressions for the quantum Fisher information(QFI).We find that the contributions of the rotating-wave and counterrotating-wave interaction terms are symmetric at the limit of the infinite ratio of qubit frequency to field frequency,with the QFI reaching a maximum for the isotropic *** finite frequency scaling,we analytically derive the inverted variance of higher-order correction and find that it is more affected by the rotating-wave coupling than by the counterrotating-wave coupling.

We present an experiment of observing the geometric phase in a superconducting circuit where the resonator and the qutrit energy levels are dispersively coupled. The drive applied to the resonator displaces its state components associated with the qutrit＇s ground state and first-excited state along different circular trajectories in phase space. We identify the resonator＇s phase-space trajectories by Wigner tomography using an ancilla qubit, following which we observe the difference between the geometric phases associated with these trajectories using Ramsey interferometry. This geometric phase is further used to construct the single-qubit It-phase gate with a process fidelity of 0.851± 0.001.

We propose a Rydberg molecule dressing scheme to create strong and long-ranged interactions at selective distances. This is achieved through laser coupling ground-state atoms off-resonantly to an attractive molecular curve of two interacting Rydberg atoms. Although dephasing due to Rydberg state decay occurs in all dressing schemes, an advantage of the molecule dressing is that a large ratio of dressed interaction to dephasing rate can be realized at large atomic separations. In an optical lattice or tweezer setting, we show that the strong interaction permits the fast generation of spin squeezing for several tens of dressed *** proposed setting offers a new route to study complex many-body dynamics and to realize quantum information processing with non-convex long-range interactions.

In this paper,we propose a scheme to achieve a multiphonon-resonance quantum Rabi model and adiabatic passage in a strong-coupling cavity optomechanical *** the scheme,when the driving bichromatic laser beam is adjusted to the off-resonant j-order red-and blue-sideband,the interaction between the cavity and mechanical oscillator leads to a j-phonon resonance quantum Rabi ***,we show that there exists a resonant multi-phonon coupling via intermediate states connected by counter-rotating processes when the frequency of the simulated bosonic mode is near a fraction of the transition frequency of the simulated two-level *** a typical example,we theoretically analyze the two-phonon resonance quantum Rabi model,and derive an effective Hamiltonian of the six-phonon ***,we present a method of six-phonon generation based on adiabatic passage across the *** simulations confirm the validity of the proposed ***,the proposed scheme can be extended to the realization of 3j-phonon state.

Multi boron-doping effects in hard carbon toward enhanced sodium ion storage

As a result of the quantum nature of the physical world, a mechanical oscillator in the quantum ground state will always have position and momentum fluctuations, which satisfy the Heisenberg uncertainty. Although the fluctuations are unavoidable, they can be manipulated such that one of the motional quadratures is squeezed below the zero-point level. The kind of quadrature-squeezed states have potential applications in the study of the quantum-to-classical transition, the quantum engineering of states of matter at the macroscopic level, and ultrahigh-precision measurement of force and motion. Recently, it has been experimentally demonstrated that the well-known 3-dB limit of steady-state mechanical squeezing can be overcome by combining reservoir engineering and backaction evading measurement in a microwave optomechanical system. In this talk, we focus on the cooperative effect of different physical processes for realizing a stronger mechanical squeezing without the requirement of classical feedback and of the input of squeezed light. By considering an optomechanical cavity that contains a degenerate OPA driven by an amplitude-modulated laser, we find that both the parametric pump driving and periodically modulated cavity driving contribute to the reduction of the mechanical fluctuation. The resulting two-fold squeezing（far beyond the 3-dB limit） exceeds the squeezing that can be achieved solely by either of these two processes. The idea may be generalized to realize cooperation-based enhancement of other quantum effects in complex optomechanical systems, e.g., entanglement between two macroscopic mechanical oscillators, which are useful for ultra-sensitive detection, quantum information processing, as well as fundamental study of quantum decoherence.

Hard carbon (HC) has been considered as promising anode material for sodium-ion batteries (SIBs).The optimization of hard carbon’s microstructure and solid electrolyte interface (SEI) property are demonstrated effective in enhancing the Na+storage capability,however,a one-step regulation strategy to achieve simultaneous multi-scale structures optimization is highly ***,we have systematically investigated the effects of boron doping on hard carbon’s microstructure and interface chemistry.A variety of structure characterizations show that appropriate amount of boron doping can increase the size of closed pores via rearrangement of carbon layers with improved graphitization degree,which provides more Na+storage ***-situ Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy/electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (FTIR/EIS) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) analysis demonstrate the presence of more BC3and less B–C–O structures that result in enhanced ion diffusion kinetics and the formation of inorganic rich and robust SEI,which leads to facilitated charge transfer and excellent rate *** a result,the hard carbon anode with optimized boron doping content exhibits enhanced rate and cycling *** general,this work unravels the critical role of boron doping in optimizing the pore structure,interface chemistry and diffusion kinetics of hard carbon,which enables rational design of sodium-ion battery anode with enhanced Na+storage performance.
