Post-traumatic osteoarthritis(PTOA)is a complex and painful problem in the foot and *** percent of osteoarthritis cases in the foot and ankle can be classified as *** can affect any of the 33 joints in the foot and the *** arthroplasty is a method for treatment of early arthritic joints without fusing or replacing them and its effectiveness has been well *** purpose of this case series is to present our successful experiences and positive results using distraction arthroplasty to treat PTOA in the ankle,subtalar,first metatarsophalangeal,and second tarsometatarsal joints,and to present distraction arthroplasty as a viable alternative to invasive joint sacrificing procedures such as arthrodesis or *** Arthroplasty effectively and safely treats PTOA and improves the stability of joints in the Foot and ***,the use of bone marrow aspirate concentrate as an adjuvant can improve the long-term functional and structural outcomes of the joint,and can prolong the need for further,more aggressive surgical interventions such as fusion or arthroplasty.

An autonomous microgrid that runs on renewable energy sources is presented in this *** has a supercon-ducting magnetic energy storage(smEs)device,wind energy-producing devices,and an energy storage ***,because such microgrids are nonlinear and the energy they create varies with time,controlling and managing the energy inside them is a difficult ***-order proportional integral(FOPI)controller is recommended for the current research to enhance a standalone microgrid’s energy management and *** suggested dedicated control for the smEs comprises two loops:the outer loop,which uses the FOPI to regulate the DC-link voltage,and the inner loop,responsible for regulating the smEs current,is constructed using the intelligent FOPI(iFOPI).The FOPI+iFOPI parameters are best developed using the dandelion optimizer(DO)approach to achieve the optimum *** suggested FOPI+iFOPI controller’s performance is contrasted with a conventional PI controller for variations in wind speed and microgrid *** optimal FOPI+iFOPI controller manages the voltage and frequency of the *** behavior of the microgrid as a reaction to step changes in load and wind speed was measured using the proposed *** simulations were used to evaluate the recommended system’s *** results of the simulations showed that throughout all interruptions,the recommended microgrid provided the load with AC power with a constant amplitude and *** addition,the required load demand was accurately ***,the microgrid functioned incredibly well despite smEs and varying wind *** obtained under identical conditions were compared with and without the best FOPI+iFOPI *** utilizing the optimal FOPI+iFOPI controller with smEs,it was found that the microgrid performed better than the microgrid without smEs.

Bioactive packaging materials are developed responding to the considerable environmental and human health risks caused by plastic packaging. In this study, a new generation of ternary composite films based on aluminum chloride (AlCl3)/chitosan (Cs)/cellulose (Cel) was fabricated for use as bioactive packaging. FTIR, XRD, sEm and TGA results confirmed AlCl3/Cs incorporation with Cel and homogeneous distribution in the composites. UV-Vis spectrometry of the ternary composite films showed a lack of light transmission in the UVA and UVB regions, indicating the highest protective efficiency of the composite film. The AlCl3/Cs/Cel composite films manifested higher water uptake in comparison with Cs/Cel film, thus AlCl3 improved the hydrophilicity and mechanical properties of AlCl3/Cs/Cel composite films. moreover, the AlCl3/Cs/Cel composite exhibited better antimicrobial activity against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria than the pristine film. These results suggested that the bioactive AlCl3/Cs/Cel film utilized in this study might be a promising material in food packaging to prolong the shelf life and improve food safety.

seismic hazard assessment is carried out by utilizing deterministic approach to evaluate the maximum expected earthquake ground motions along the Western Coastal Province of saudi Arabia. The analysis is accomplished by incorporating seismotectonic source model, determination of earthquake magnitude （mmax）, set of appropriate ground motion predictive equations （GmPE）, and logic tree sequence. The logic tree sequence is built up to assign weight to ground motion scaling relationships. Contour maps of ground acceleration are generated at different spectral periods. These maps show that the largest ground motion values are emerged in northern and southern regions of the western coastal province in saudi Arabia in comparison with the central region.

Thrust characteristics of nano-carbon/Al/oxygenated salt nanothermites for micro-energetic applications

Combustion within small motors is key in the application-specific development of nanothermite-based micro-energetic systems. This study evaluates the performance of nanothermite mixtures in a converging-diverging nozzle and an open tube. mixtures were prepared using nano-aluminum(n-Al),potassium perchlorate(KClO_(4)), and different carbon nanomaterials(CNms) including graphene-oxide(GO), reduced GO, carbon nanotubes(CNTs) and nanofibers(CNFs). The mixtures were packed at different densities and ignited by laser beam. Performance was measured using thrust measurement,high-speed imaging, and computational fluid dynamics modeling, respectively. Thrust, specific impulse(IsP), volumetric impulse(IsV), as well as normalized energy were found to increase notably with CNm content. Two distinctive reaction regimes(fast and slow) were observed in combustion of low and high packing densities(20% and 55%TmD), respectively. Total impulse(IFT) and IsPwere maximized in the 5%GO/Al/KClO_4 mixture, producing 7.95 m N·s and 135.20 s respectively at 20%TmD, an improvement of 57%compared to a GO-free sample(5.05 m N·s and 85.88 s). CFD analysis of the motors over predicts the thrust generated but trends in nozzle layout and packing density agree with those observed experimentally;peak force was maximized by reducing packing density and using an open tube. The numerical force profiles fit better for the nozzle cases than the open tube scenarios due to the rapid nature of combustion. This study reveals the potential of GO in improving oxygenated salt-based nanothermites,and further demonstrates their applicability for micro-propulsion and micro-energetic applications.

To date,very few researchers employed the Least square support Vector machine(LssVm)in predicting the resilient modulus(mr)of Unbound Granular materials(UGms).This paper focused on the development of a LssVm model to predict the mT of recycled materials for pavement applications and comparison with other different models such as Regression,and Artificial Neural Network(ANN).Blends of Recycled Concrete Aggregate(RCA)with Recycled Clay masonry(RCm)with proportions of 100/0,90/10,80/20,70/30,55/45,40/60,20/80,and 0/100 by the total aggregate mass were evaluated for use as ***/RCm materials were collected from dumps on the sides of roads around mansoura city,*** investigated blends were evaluated experimentally by routine and advanced tests and the mr values were detennined by Repeated Load Triaxial Test(RLTT).Regression,ANN,and LssVm models were utilized and compared in predicting the mr of the investigated blends optimizing the best design *** showed that the mx values of the investigated RCA/RCm blends were generally increased with the decrease in RCm *** analyses were utilized for evaluating the performance of the developed models and the inputs sensitivity ***,the results approved that the LssVm model can be used as a novel tool to estimate the mx of the investigated RCA/RCm blends.

male-killing is 1 of 4 known strategies that inherited parasitic endosymbionts have evolved to manipulate their host＇s reproduction. In early male-killing, infected male offspring are killed early in embryogenesis. Within the Insecta, male-killing bacteria have been found in a wide range of hosts. The Coccinellidae families of beetles, better known as ladybirds, are particularly prone to male-killer invasion. In samples of the coccinellid, Coc- cinula crotchi, from Japan, a new male-killing bacterium was revealed by phenotypic assay. molecular genetic analysis revealed the identity to be a tetracycline-sensitive Flavobac- terium that causes female-biased offspring sex ratio. Furthermore, that Flavobacterium strain was found to be closely related to the Flavobacterium causing male-killing in the congeneric Japanese coccinellid, Coccinula sinensis, which was collected from the same region. However, we found slightly different Flavobacterium strains infecting C. sinen- sis from regions with different environmental conditions. This may be an indication of horizontal transmission of male-killing Flavobacterium between these 2 ladybird spices. Finally, environmental conditions may affect the spread of male-killing bacteria among their hosts.

Three new metal complexes derived from Er（Ⅲ）, Dy（Ⅲ） and Zr（Ⅳ） with 2-aminobenzohydrazide （ABH） were synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses, IR, ^1H-NmR, Es-ms and transmission electron microscopy （TEm）. The morphology and the particle size were determined by TEm. The results showed that the ligand acted as neutral bi-dentate coordinating to the metal ions through the carbonyl oxygen and amidic amino nitrogen. The aromatic amine group remained inert towards coordination. The optical band gap was measured and found to be 3.3, 3.5 and 4.3 eV for Er（Ⅲ）, Dy（Ⅲ） and Zr（Ⅳ）, respectively. The optical band gap values indicated a semi-conducting nature of the investigated complexes. The anti-inflammatory and analgesic activities of the tested compounds were determined and compared with standard meloxicam.

The reaction of cyanoacetylhydrazine 1 with furan-2-aldehyde 2 gives the hydrazide-hydrazone derivative 3. The latter compound undergoes a series of heterocyclization reactions to give new heterocyclic compounds. The antitumor evaluation of the newly synthesized products against three cancer cell lines, namely breast adenocarcinoma (mCF-7), non-small cell lung cancer (NCI-H460) and CNs cancer (sF-268) were recorded. some of the synthesized compounds show high inhibitory effects.
