Background： Cerebral arteriovenous malformation （cAVM） is a type of vascular malformation associated with vascular remodeling, hemodynamic imbalance, and inflammation. We detected four angioarchitecture-related cytokines to make a better understanding of the potential aberrant signaling in the pathogenesis of cAVM and found useful proteins in predicting the risk of cerebral hemorrhage. Methods： lmmunohistochemical analysis was conducted on specimens from twenty patients with cAVM diagnosed via magnetic resonance imaging and digital subtraction angiography and twenty primary epilepsy controls using antibodies against vascular endothelial growth factor receptor-2 （VEGFR-2）, matrix metalloproteinase-9 （MMP-9）, vascular cell adhesion molecule （VCAM- 1 ）, and endothelial nitric oxide synthase （eNOS）. Western blotting and real-time fluorescent quantitative polymerase chain reaction （PCR） were performed to determine protein and mRNA expression levels. Student＇s t-test was used for statistical analysis. Results： VEGFR-2, MMP-9, VCAM-1, and eNOS expression levels increased in patients with cAVM compared with those in normal cerebral vascular tissue, as determined by immunohistochemical analysis. In addition, Western blotting and real-time PCR showed that the protein and mRNA expression levels ofVEGFR-2, MMP-9, VCAM-1, and eNOS were higher in the cAVM group than in the control group, all the differences mentioned were statistically significant （P 〈 0,05）. Conclusions： VEGFR-2, MMP-9, VCAM-1, and eNOS are upregulated in patients with cAVM and might play important roles in angiogenesis, vascular remodeling, and migration in patients with cAVM. MMP-9, VEGFR-2, VCAM-1, and eNOS might be potential excellent group proteins in predicting the risk of cerebral hemorrhage at arteriovenous malformation.

As an optimization method that has experienced rapid development over the past 20 years, the genetic algorithm has been successfully applied in many fields, but it requires repeated searches based on the characteristics of high-speed computer calculation and conditions of the known relationship between the objective function and independent variables. There are several hundred generations of evolvement, but the functional relationship is unknown in pollution source searches. Therefore, the genetic algorithm cannot be used directly. Certain improvements need to be made based on the actual situation, so that the genetic algorithm can adapt to the actual conditions of environmental problems, and can be used in environmental monitoring and environmental quality assessment. Therefore, a series of methods are proposed for the improvement of the genetic algorithm：（1） the initial generation of individual groups should be artificially set and move from lightly polluted areas to heavily polluted areas; （2） intervention measures should be introduced in the competition between individuals; （3） guide individuals should be added; and （4） specific improvement programs should be put forward. Finally, the scientific rigor and rationality of the improved genetic algorithm are proven through an example.

The formation of highly coherent double-shelled L1_(2) nano-precipitates in dilute Al–Er–Sc–Zr alloys was investigated with the combined use of Cs-corrected transmission electron microscopy characterization and first-principles energetics calculations. The double-shelled nano-precipitates are primarily featured with an Er-rich core surrounded by a Sc-rich inner shell and a Zr-rich outer shell. First-principles energetics analyses based on the classic homogenous nucleation theory suggested that once forms, this double-shell structure can be thermally stable. The predominant formation of this double-shell structure has thus both profound kinetic and thermodynamic origins. Its formation and stability preference to all other possible L1_(2) nano-structures would become more pronounced as its size increases, no matter what the solute ratio and aging temperature of interest.

Hydrogen evolution reaction(HER) is crucial for achieving sustainable development and carbon neutrality, and thus demands efficient catalysts, which necessitates fundamental theory to relieve trial-and-error experiment. To fast screen HER candidates, most studies focus on d-band center(ε)associated with the Gibbs energy of H* adsorption(ΔG). Unfortunately, εrule is not applicable to Pt single atoms on transition metal disulfides(Pt_(1)/TMDs) because of the additional contributions from p states of S atom. Here, we propose a new HER descriptor — d-band frontier(d) by defining the weight of d-band in the energy range of [-1.0 eV, 1.0 eV] of Pt single atoms. This dis exactly correlated with the ΔGof Pt_(1)/TMDs, and thus perfectly describes the structure–activity relationship, as validated by systematical experimental evidences. Moreover, this ddescriptor can be extended to Pt single atoms anchored on other supports(e.g., CN, C, MoO, and CoO), indicating its promising generality.

The mixing morphology control plays a crucial role in photovoltaic power generation,yet this specific effect on device performances remains ***,we employed computational approaches to delineate the photovoltaic properties of layered heterojunction polymer solar cells with tunable mixing ***-step quench and two-step quench strategies were proposed to adjust the mixing morphology by thermodynamic and kinetic *** computation for the one-step quench revealed that modulating interfacial widths and interfacial roughness could significantly promote the photovoltaic performance of layered heterojunction polymer solar *** two-step quench can provide a buffer at a lower temperature before the kinetic quenching,leading to the formation of small-length-scale islands connected to the interface and a further increase in photovoltaic *** discoveries are supported by recent experimental evidence and are anticipated to guide the design of photovoltaic materials with optimal performance.

The efficiency of water electrolysis is significantly affected by the bubbles on the surface and inside the *** enhance the gas-liquid transfer within the porous electrodes,we developed an innovative design termed dual-aligned porous electrode(D-APE),achieved by integrating magnetic alignment with freeze casting *** paper investigates the hydrogen evolution performance of porous electrodes prepared using four different methods:evaporation,magnetic-aligned evaporation,freeze casting,and dual-aligned *** findings demonstrate that the magnetic-aligned process effectively alters the electrode structure,resulting in improved hydrogen evolution ***,among all the examined electrodes,the D-APE exhibits the highest hydrogen evolution performance,with further enhancements observed with prolonged the time of magnetic ***,a comparison is made between electrodes prepared using the freeze casting method and the dual-aligned method at various *** results show that the thinner D-APE exhibits excellent hydrogen evolution performance at high current ***,the D-APE demonstrates significantly improved material utilization rates compared to the conventional freeze casting method,offering promising prospects for enhancing the efficiency of water electrolysis.

Carbon Dioxide Sequestration via Steelmaking Slag Carbonation in Alkali Solutions: Experimental Investigation and Process Evaluation

Carbon dioxide mineral sequestration with steelmaking slag is a promising method for reducing carbon dioxide in a large- scale setting. Existing calcium oxide or calcium hydroxide in steelmaking slag can be easily leached by water, and the formed calcium carbonate can be easily wrapped on the surface of unreacted steelmaking slag particles. Thus, further increase in the carbonation reaction rate can be prevented. Enhanced carbon dioxide mineral sequestration with steel- making slag in dilute alkali solution was analysed in this study through experiments and process evaluation. Operating conditions, namely alkali concentration, reaction temperature and time, and liquid-to-solid ratio, were initially investigated. Then, the material and energy balance of the entire process was calculated, and the net carbon dioxide sequestration efficiency at different reaction times was evaluated. Results showed that dilute alkali solution participated in slowing down the leaching of active calcium in the steelmaking slag and in significantly improving carbonation conversion rate. The highest carbonation conversion rate of approximately 50% can be obtained at the optimal conditions of 20 g/L alkali concentration, 2 mL/L liquid-to-solid ratio, and 70 ℃ reaction temperature. Carbonation reaction time significantly influences the net carbon dioxide sequestration efficiency. According to calculation, carbon dioxide emission of 52.6 kg/t- slag was avoided at a relatively long time of 120 min.

Prolonged milk provisioning and extended parental care for nutritionally independent offspring, previously considered to only co-occur in long-lived mammals (Clutton-Brock, 1991;Royle et al., 2012), were recently reported in the reproduction of the milking spider, Toxeus magnus (Chen et al. 2018). Newly hatched T. magnus spiderlings require 53 days to develop to maturity, with an average adult body length of 6.6 mm.
