Vacuum therapy prevents corporeal veno-occlusive dysfunction and penile shrinkage in a cavernosal nerve injured rat model

Erectile dysf un ction and penile shri nkage are the comm on complications after radical *** rehabilitati on is widely applied after the *** therapy is one of the three penile rehabilitation methods used in the clinical setting,but its mechanism is not well *** study was designed to investigate whether vacuum erectile device(VED)can prevent corporeal veno-occlusive dysfunction and penile shrinkage in the bilateral cavernous nerve crush(BCNC)rat *** male Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly assigned into three groups:sham group,BCNC group,and BCNC+VED *** 4 weeks,penile length and intracavernosal pressure(ICP)were measured,and then the middle part of the penis was harvested after dynamic inf usion caver no sometry to complete the followi ng items:smooth muscle/collage n ratios and collagenⅠ/Ⅲratios;ultramicrostructure of the tunica albuginea,endothelial cell,and smooth muscle cell;and the expression of calponin・l and *** penile shortening,peak ICP and ICP drop rate after alprostadil injection were significantly improved with vacuum therapy after 4-week treatme *** with BCNC group,VED sign ifica ntly in creased smooth muscle/collagen ratios,decreased collagenⅠ/Ⅲratios,and preserved the ultramicrostructure of the tunica albuginea,endothelial cell,and smooth muscle *** data also showed that an imals exposed to VED could partially reverse the expression of calp onin・l and osteop ontin induced by *** conclusion,vacuum therapy is effective to prevent penile shrinkage and veno-occlusive dysfunction in penile rehabilitation,which may be associated with well-preserved structure and function of the tunica albuginea,endothelial cell,and smooth muscle cell.

Conyza sumatrensis (Retz.) E. Walker, a member of Asteraceae, is a highly invasive species. However, its reproduction biology remains poorly known. To understand the role of reproductive traits in successful invasion of the species, we studied several traits of its reproductive system: the miniature capitulum and gynomonoecious sexual system, the biology and phenology of capitula and florets, pollen/ovule ratio, the mating system (self-compatibility), flower visitors, physical traits and dispersal potential of achenes, germination potential of achenes from manually pollinated capitula, and the association of these traits with invasiveness. Our study showed that the reproductive traits of autonomous seed production, versatile mating system of self- and cross-pollination, and generalized pollination system might contribute to the species’ successful invasive capability. The invasiveness was further enhanced by the high and rapid production of achenes, as well as the high percentage, rapid germination rate and high dispersal capability of achenes. It was concluded that in annual or winter-annual weeds, autonomous seed production contributed significantly to the invasiveness of the species.

为模拟岩石在循环加、卸载作用下的变形特性,结合Drucker-Prager(简称D-P)屈服准则与次加载面理论,建立了能考虑岩石材料实际抗拉强度和应力角效应的循环加、卸载模型。首先考虑岩石在三轴压缩和在三轴拉伸状态下不同的强度特性,在传统的D-P屈服准则中引入角隅模型,并借鉴殷有泉提出的D-P-Y准则,形成了修正的D-P屈服准则;进一步结合修正屈服准则和次加载面理论,提出了适用于岩石循环加、卸载的次加载面模型,并通过自编程序,实现了循环加、卸载模型的数值表达与岩石循环加、卸载试验数值仿真。计算结果表明,基于修正D-P屈服准则的次加载面模型能较好地描述岩石的曼辛效应和棘轮效应;通过改变抗拉强度的大小,可以发现随着抗拉强度的减小,岩石的变形量相应增加,且增加的幅度逐渐提高,说明修正模型可准确反映抗拉强度对岩石的循环加、卸载变形的影响。

Flexible electrodes have significant potential in fields such as healthcare and neuroscience, as they enable comprehensive recording and analysis of human electrical signals, providing deeper insights into physiological conditions and the state of internal organs and tissues [1, 2]. However, commercial Ag/AgCl wet electrodes face issues such as dehydration,poor comfort, and insufficient mechanical strength, while other types of electrodes, like dry and semi-dry electrodes,also have their own limitations, including the higher contact impedance. In contrast, ionically conductive electrodes offer potential advantages such as transparency, stability, and low impedance, making them a promising alternative to existing electrically conductive electrodes [3]. Acrylic acid (AA)and 2-acrylamido-2-methylpropanesulfonic acid (AMPS) are commonly used in the synthesis of ionic gels, as they ionize in water to produce a large number of ions, helping to maintain moisture balance and reduce impedance caused by dehydration [4]. However, the presence of freely moving ions in the gel network can interfere with conductivity, highlighting the need to introduce new conductive networks to enhance performance [5].

Computing the weighted girth, which is the sum of weights of edges in the minimum weight cycle,is an important problem in network analysis. The problem for distributively computing girth in unweighted graphs has garnered lots of attention, but there are few studies in weighted graphs. In this paper, we propose a distributed randomized algorithm for computing the weighted girth in weighted graphs with integral edge weights in the range [1, nc], where n is the number of vertices and c is a constant. The algorithm is devised under the standard synchronous CON GE S T model, which limits each vertex can only transfer O（log n） bits information along each incident edge in a round. The upper bound of the algorithm is O（n log;n） rounds. We also prove the lower bound for computing the weighted girth is ?（D + n/log n） where D is the hop diameter of the weighted graph. This means our distributed algorithm is optimal within a factor of O（log;n）.

During the conventional continuous casting process of high-aluminum steels(w([Al])>0.5 wt.%),some components of slag,such as SiO_(2),B_(2)O_(3),and TiO_(2),could be reduced by aluminum in molten ***,the CaO-BaO-Al_(2)O_(3)-CaF2-Li2O non-reactive mold fluxes were designed using the simplex grid method and molecular dynamics to mitigate the slag-metal interface reaction and stabilize the performance of mold *** results show that the components of nonreactive quinary system are 20-40 wt.% CaO,14-34 wt.% BaO,14-34 wt.% Al_(2)O_(3),4-12 wt.% F,and 4-8 wt.% Li_(2)*** dynamics simulation results show that[AlO_(4)]-tetrahedron acts as network formers and melt network structure is mainly chain and lamellar in the low-viscosity *** cross sections of w(F)=8 wt.%,w(Li_(2)O)=8 wt.%and w(F)=12 wt.%,w(Li2O)=8 wt.% are important reference sections for the design of mold flux,with the compositions of 22-40 wt.%CaO,14-34 wt.% BaO,20-34 wt.%Al_(2)O_(3) and 23-40 wt.%CaO,14-34 wt.%BaO,20-28 wt.% Al_(2)O_(3),respectively.

We address the problem of metric learning for multi-view data. Many metric learning algorithms have been proposed, most of them focus just on single view circumstances, and only a few deal with multi-view data. In this paper, motivated by the co-training framework, we propose an algorithm-independent framework, named co-metric, to learn Mahalanobis metrics in multi-view settings. In its implementation, an off-the-shelf single-view metric learning algorithm is used to learn metrics in individual views of a few labeled examples. Then the most confidently-labeled examples chosen from the unlabeled set are used to guide the metric learning in the next loop. This procedure is repeated until some stop criteria are met. The framework can accommodate most existing metric learning algorithms whether types-of- side-information or example-labels are used. In addition it can naturally deal with semi-supervised circumstances under more than two views. Our comparative experiments demon- strate its competiveness and effectiveness.

In this study, the degradation efficiencies of zero-valent iron （ZVI） powders with different structures and components wereevaluated for methyl orange （MO）. The results show that the structure is an essential factor that affects degradation, andadded non-metallic elements help optimize the structure. The amorphous and balled-milled crystalline Fe7oSiloB2o hascomparative degradation efficiencies to MO with tl/2 values of 6.9 and 7.0 min, respectively. Increasing the boron contentcan create a favorable structure and promote degradation. The ball-milled crystalline Fe70B30 and Fe43.64B56.36 powdershave relatively short tl/2 values of 5.2 and 3.3 rain, respectively. The excellent properties are mainly attributed to theirheterogeneous structure with boron-doped active sites in ZVI. Composition segregation in the nanoscale range in anamorphous FeSiB alloy and small boron particles in the microscale range embedded in large iron particles prepared by ball-milling, both constitute effective galvanic cells that promote iron electron loss and therefore decompose organic *** findings may provide a new, highly efficient, low-cost commercial method for azo dye wastewater treatment usingZVI.
