Overview of in-situ oxygen production technologies for lunar resources

The rich resources and unique environment of the Moon make it an ideal location for human expansion and the utilization of extraterrestrial ***,crucial for supporting human life on the Moon,can be extracted from lunar regolith,which is highly rich in oxygen and contains polymetallic *** oxygen and metal extraction can be achieved using existing metallurgical ***,the ample reserves of water ice on the Moon offer another means for oxygen *** paper offers a detailed overview of the leading technologies for achieving oxygen production on the Moon,drawing from an analysis of lunar resources and environmental *** delves into the principles,processes,advantages,and drawbacks of water-ice electrolysis,two-step oxygen production from lunar regolith,and one-step oxygen production from lunar *** two-step methods involve hydrogen reduction,carbothermal reduction,and hydrometallurgy,while the one-step methods encompass fluorination/chlorination,high-temperature decomposition,molten salt electrolysis,and molten regolith electrolysis(MOE).Following a thorough comparison of raw materials,equipment,technology,and economic viability,MOE is identified as the most promising approach for future in-situ oxygen production on the *** the corrosion characteristics of molten lunar regolith at high temperatures,along with the Moon's low-gravity environment,the development of inexpensive and stable inert anodes and electrolysis devices that can easily collect oxygen is critical for promoting MOE technology on the *** review significantly contributes to our understanding of in-situ oxygen production technologies on the Moon and supports upcoming lunar exploration initiatives.

Design of a submerged entry nozzle for optimizing continuous casting of stainless steel slab

To solve slag entrapment and casting slab defects in the process of stainless steel continuous casting,submerged entry nozzle(SEN)for slab casters operating at casting speed of 1 m/min was developed based on 3D numerical simulation and water modeling experiments by controlling the outlet shape and angle of original SEN with oval and 15°angle outlet under current industrial *** simulations of fluid velocity at outlets with different shapes and angles of SENs have been carried *** results showed that oval outlet with 5°and 15°angle led to asymmetric rotating flow pattern at outlet,as well as square outlet with 15°angle,but symmetric flow pattern formed at square outlet with 5°*** effect of these SENs on meniscus stability,flow field and slag entrapment behavior of stainless steel slab casting mold was further studied by water modeling *** results showed that difficult floating fine droplets formed when the angle of outlet was 15°under the dual effect of vortex convection and shear force due to the strong swirling flow from outlet and rotating flow of ***,outlet with 5°angle could lead to the formation of larger slag droplets,while the oval outlet with 5°angle could result in the scour to the mold ***,the square outlet with 5°angle was a relatively ideal solution for the submerged entry nozzle from the aspects of the stability of the mold and the slag entrapment *** the design of a new SEN according to the experimental result,the solidification structure of continuous casting slab was obviously improved by industrial test.

Hot Corrosion behaviors of Super 304H austenitic stainless steel precoated in Na2SO4-25%NaCI mixture salt film

Hot corrosion rates of Super 304H austenitic stainless steel pre-coated in Na2SO4-25%NaCl mixture salt film in air at 650 ℃ and 750 ℃ have been investigated by corrosion kinetics *** corrosion products are examined by means of X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy coupled with energy-dispersive spectrometer,and electron probe micro-analyzer to analyze the scale structure and element distribution of the cross *** results indicate that the kinetics curves are similar and display parabolic growth,and the mass gain obviously increases with the increasing temperature.A two-layer oxide scale composed of Fe oxides containing CuFe2O4 and Cr2O3 forms on the surface of the alloy and easily exfoliates with extending corrosion time or with improving corrosion ***,a corrosion-affected zone with micropores and micro-cracks appears beneath the oxide *** is concluded that the selective oxidation occurs and a protective oxide scale forms at the early corrosion *** melt salts destroy the integrity of the oxide scale and accelerate hot corrosion of the alloy by the cyclical oxidation-chlorination during the further corrosion *** addition,internal sulfidation also contributes to the corrosion of the alloy.

Improve titanate reduction by electro-deoxidation of Ca_(3)Ti_(2)O_(7) precursor in molten CaCl_(2)

The low O^(2-)diffusion rate in the electro-deoxidation of titanium containing compounds by either the OS process or the FFC process leads to a low reaction speed and a low current *** this study,Ca_(3)Ti_(2)O_(7) was used as a precursor to improve the reduction speed of *** of the greater number of"diffusion channels"created in cathode as Ca^(2+) liberates from Ca_(3)Ti_(2)O_(7) precursor in the electrodeoxidation process,the O^(2-)diffusion rate was improved significantly by using Ca_(3)Ti_(2)O_(7) instead of CaTiO3 as *** constant voltage electrolysis(3.2 V)confirms that Ca_(3)Ti_(2)O_(7) and CaTiO3 are reduced simultaneously because of their similar crystal ***,the reduction area of Ca_(3)Ti_(2)O_(7) spreads much faster than that of CaTiO3,indicating a difference in the O^(2-) diffusion *** voltage cyclic voltammetry(CV)and theoretical analysis of the crystal structure were also conducted to compare the differences between Ca_(3)Ti_(2)O_(7) and *** results indicate that using a precursor with a greater number of soluble cations,titanium reduction speed can be greatly improved in the electro-deoxidation ***,a new electrolysis method for converting and recycling excess CaO from the Ca_(3)Ti_(2)O_(7) precursor was proposed.

Last year, the first attempt to genetically modify human embryos in the United States was reported and sparked a huge debate (Ma et al., 2017). Although the first human germline modification was only performed two years ago, the study showed that rapid adva nces in tech no logy has allowed the rate of off-target effects and mosaicism to be reduced considerably (Liang et al., 2015). Recently, Vertex and CRISPR therapeutics collaborated and developed CTX001, the first CRISPR/Cas9-based therapy, targeting patients with P-thalassemia and have begun phase 1/2 clinical trials. With policies and technologies regarding genome editing both developing rapidly, explorations into the possibility of clinical gene editing for hundreds of hereditary diseases are starting to become achievable. Here, we address the progress of huma n embryo editi ng tech no logies so far and its promise and risks in advancing therapy for hereditary diseases.

Gualou Guizhi decoction promotes neurological functional recovery and neurogenesis following focal cerebral ischemia/reperfusion

Recovery following stroke involves neurogenesis and axonal remodeling within the ischemic brain. Gualou Guizhi decoction （GLGZD） is a Chinese traditional medicine used for the treatment of post-stroke limb spasm. GLGZD has been reported to have neuroprotective effects in cerebral ischemic injury. However, the effects of GLGZD on neurogenesis and axonal remodeling following cerebral ischemia remain unknown. In this study, a rat model of focal cerebral ischemia/reperfusion was established by middle cerebral artery occlusion. Neurologi- cal function was assessed immediately after reperfusion using Longa＇s 5-point scoring system. The rats were randomly divided into vehicle and GLGZD groups. Rats in the sham group were given sham operation. The rats in the GLGZD group were intragastrically administered GLGZD, once daily, for 14 consecutive days. The rats in the vehicle and sham groups were intragastrically administered distilled water. Modified neurological severity score test, balance beam test and foot fault test were used to assess motor functional changes. Nissl staining was performed to evaluate histopathological changes in the brain. Immunofluorescence staining was used to examine cell proliferation using the marker 5-bromo-2＇-deoxyuridine （BrdU） as well as expression of the neural precursor marker doublecortin （DCX）, the astrocyte marker glial fibrillary acidic protein （GFAP） and the axon regeneration marker growth associated protein-43 （GAP-43）. GLGZD substan- tially mitigated pathological injury, increased the number of BrdU, DCX and GFAP-immunoreactive cells in the subventricular zone of the ischemic hemisphere, increased GAP-43 expression in the cortical peri-infarct region, and improved motor function. These findings suggest that GLGZD promotes neurological functional recovery by increasing cell proliferation, enhancing axonal regeneration, and in- creasing the numbers of neuronal precursors and astrocytes in the peri-infarct area.

Community Analysis of Social Network in MMOG

Massive Multiplayer Online Games (MMOG) have attracted millions of players in recent years. In MMOG, players organize themselves voluntarily and fulfill collective tasks together. Because each player can join different activities, one player may show different social relationship with others in different activities. In the paper we proposed the incremental label propagation algorithm to search the cliques accurately and quickly. Then we analyzed community structure characteristics on multi-activities. It's shown that the existing guild organization cannot satisfy the requirements of multi-activities in MMOG, which motivates us to devise new community communication channels and platforms in future.

A mathematical model for describing the melting process in the medium-frequency induction furnace was *** difference method was applied to deal with coupling electromagnetic field and temperature field in the melting *** magnetic induction,temperature distribution and the phase interface moving characteristic during melting of the furnace burden were *** effects of the direct current and inductive heating frequency on the process were *** simulation results show that:In the direction of burden radius,magnetic induction decreases from the outside of the burden to the ***/liquid interface moves gradually from the outside of the burden to the *** movement speed increases when the burden begins to *** the direction of the burden height,the distribution of eddy current in the surface is accord with the edge effect of the ***/liquid interface moves gradually from the center to the two *** direct current has a greater effect on the electromagnetic field and temperature field than frequency.

Effect of Combined Acupuncture and Medication for Hypertension due to Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus and Plasma Neuropeptide Y

Objective： To observe the effect of combined acupuncture and medication for hypertension due to type 2 diabetes and plasma Neuropeptide Y （NPY）. Methods： Sixty cases with hypertension due to type 2 diabetes were randomized into two groups. Thirty cases in the treatment group were treated with acupuncture and oral extended release nifedipine tablets, while 30 cases in the control group were treated with oral extended release nifedipine tablets alone. After 15 d of treatment, the blood pressure and NPY contents in two groups were observed. Results： The blood pressure and NPY contents in the two groups were remarkably reduced （P〈0.01） and the effect in the treatment group was superior to the control group （P〈0.01）. Conclusion： Combined acupuncture and medication can significantly reduce blood pressure and the NPY contents.

Cytochrome P4502J2(CYP2J2)metabolizes arachidonic acid(AA)to cardioprotective epoxyeicosatrienoic acids(EETs).Dronedarone,an antiarrhythmic drug prescribed for treatment of atrial fibrillation(AF)induces cardiac adverse effects(AEs)with poorly understood *** previously demonstrated that dronedarone inactivates CYP2J2 potently and irreversibly,disrupts AA-EET pathway leading to cardiac mitochondrial toxicity rescuable via EET *** this study,we investigated if mitigation of CYP2J2 inhibition prevents dronedarone-induced cardiac *** first synthesized a deuterated analogue of dronedarone(termed poyendarone)and demonstrated that it neither inactivates CYP2J2,disrupts AA-EETs metabolism nor causes cardiac mitochondrial toxicity in *** patch-clamp experiments demonstrated that pharmacoelectrophysiology of dronedarone is unaffected by ***,we show that dronedarone treatment or CYP2J2 knockdown in spontaneously beating cardiomyocytes indicative of depleted CYP2J2 activity exacerbates beat-to-beat(BTB)variability reflective of proarrhythmic *** contrast,poyendarone treatment yields significantly lower BTB variability compared to dronedarone in cardiomyocytes indicative of preserved CYP2J2 ***,poyendarone and dronedarone display similar antiarrhythmic properties in the canine model of persistent AF,while poyendarone substantially reduces beat-to-beat variability of repolarization duration suggestive of diminished proarrhythmic *** findings prove that deuteration of dronedarone prevents CYP2J2 inactivation and mitigates dronedarone-induced cardiac AEs.
