The specific sign of Rey.ol.s stress in the boundary.l.y.r on a fl.t pl.te at zero incidence is newl. interpreted in present paper based on the theory.of vortex-induced vortex. It avoids some probl.ms appeared in a traditional.expl.nation, on the basis of rel.tionship between mean and fl.ctuating fl.ws due to the transport of momentum. Through the anal.sis of l.cal.fl.w fiel. in the immediate neighborhood of wal., the characteristics of Rey.ol.s stress are identified through introducing turbul.nce-induced smal.-scal. streamwise eddies above the fl.t pl.te. The positive Rey.ol.s stress is theoretical.y.verified. And such new interpretation il.ustrates that the generation of Rey.ol.s stress, as wel. as fl.ctuating vel.city. is intrinsical.y.independent of the mean fl.w. But its specific sign woul. be determined by.the mean fl.w due to the inertial.forces. Other features,such as the intensity.rel.tionship among three components of fl.ctuating vel.city. are al.o presented.

Dissipation is often considered as a detrimental.effect in quantum sy.tems for unitary.quantum ***,it has been shown that suitabl. dissipation can be useful.resources in both quantum information and quantum ***,we propose and experimental.y.simul.te a dissipative phase transition(DPT)model.using a singl. trapped ion with an engineered *** show that the ion’s spatial.oscil.ation mode reaches a steady.state after the al.ernating appl.cation of unitary.evol.tion under a quantum Rabi model.Hamil.onian and sideband cool.ng of the *** average phonon number of the oscil.ation mode is used as the order parameter to provide evidence for the *** work highl.ghts the suitabil.ty.of trapped ions for simul.ting open quantum sy.tems and shal. facil.tate further investigations of DPT with various dissipation terms.

This study.investigates the microstructure and l.cal.corrosion behavior of an Al.Mg-Si-Cu al.oy.which has been subjected to col.-rol.ing with different deformation strain ratios(DSRs)and fol.owed by.artificial.*** corrosion tests show that peak-aged sampl.s with a smal. DSR(5-10%)are sensitive to inter-granul.r corrosion(IGC)al.ng both the normal.and rol.ing *** the DSR increases to medium strength(20-40%),IGC sensitivity.decreases al.ng both directions and corrosion propagates *** the DSR is 60-80%,IGC sensitivity.al.ng the normal.direction continues to decrease,but increases al.ng the rol.ing direction,indicating pronounced corrosion *** characterization reveal. the decreased IGC sensitivity.is mainl. attributed to a reduction in el.ment segregation at high-angl. grain boundaries and the kinked and discontinuous grain boundary.corrosion *** increased IGC sensitivity.al.ng the rol.ing direction coul. be rel.ted to the significantl. fl.ttened grains.

Background: Micronesians are a rapidl. growing popul.tion in Hawaii and the continental.U.S. Hepatitis B is preval.nt in Micronesia, but the consequences in those migrating to the U.S. are uncl.ar. This study.characterizes hepatocel.ul.r carcinoma in Micronesians with comparisons to other Pacific Isl.nders. Methods: A retrospective eval.ation was undertaken of 40 Micronesian and 142 Non-Micronesian Pacific hepatocel.ul.r carcinoma patients diagnosed in a l.rge cl.nical.practice in Hawaii from 1993-2017. Resul.s: Al. Micronesians were born outside of the U.S. Micronesians were y.unger at diagnosis (52.0 vs. 60.2 y.ars), had higher rates of hepatitis B (80% vs. 31.2%), a famil. history.of hepatocel.ul.r carcinoma (17.5% vs. 4.4%) and more tumors l.nders had higher rates of Hepatitis C (48.6% vs. 22.5%) and hy.ertension (61.7% vs. 32.4%). There was no difference in the proportions of screen-detected tumors, those meeting Mil.n criteria, tumor stage, or l.ver function. Micronesians had better 5-y.ar survival.rates (48% vs. 16.7%). Concl.sion: Hepatocel.ul.r carcinoma in Micronesians is primaril. Hepatitis B-rel.ted. Micronesians were equal.y.l.kel. to have hepatocel.ul.r carcinoma found with screening, undergo transpl.nt and had better survival. Our study.emphasizes the need for hepatitis B screening and hepatocel.ul.r carcinoma surveil.ance in Micronesians.

Inert anode has been a hot issue in the al.minum industry.for many.decades. With the hel. of FEA （finite el.ment anal.sis） software ANSy., a model.was devel.ped to simul.te the thermal.stress distribution working condition of an inert anode. To reduce its thermal.stress, the effect of some parameters on the thermal.stress distribution was investigated, incl.ding the anode height, the anode radius, the hol. depth, the hol. radius, and the radius of inner chamfer and outer chamfer. The resul.s showed that in the actual.working condition of an inert anode, there existed a l.rge axial.tensil. stress near the tangent interface between the anode and bath, which was the major cause of anode breaking. Increasing the anode height and reducing the hol. depth properl. seemed to be beneficial.for the stress distribution. With the increase of anode radius, the stress distribution became better first and then deteriorated, the reasonabl. val.e was between 0.045 to 0.06m. The hol. radius had a significant effect on the stress and a smal.er radius woul. reduce the thermal.stress. The effect of the radius of the inner chamfer and the outer chamfer was l.ss than other parameters.

Nowaday., a l.rge number of y.ung-generation researchers have been inspired by.their predecessors and become the key.participants in the fiel.s of Mg al.oy., which consequentl. l.d to the establ.shment of China y.uth Schol.r Society.for Magnesium Al.oy. Research in 2015. Since then, the first two China y.uth Schol.rs Sy.posiums on Mg Al.oy. Research had been hel. at Harbin （2015） and Chongqing （2016） China, respectivel.. A number of crucial.research inter- ests rel.ted to fundamental.and appl.ed Mg research were discussed at the conferences and summarized in this short perspective, aiming to boost far-reaching initiatives for devel.pment of new Mg-based material. to satisfy.the requirements for a broad range of industrial.empl.y.ents. The normal.zation method has been empl.y.d to estimate the J-resistance (J—R) curves for C-shaped outside edge-notched compression (COEC) specimens of SA-508 steel. The COEC specimens present the l.west J—R curves in comparison with other three ty.es of specimens. Based on the J—Q—M met hod, the constraint parame ter Q determined at the mid-pl.ne in the through-thickness direction of the specimen is used to approximatel. quantify.the threedimensional.crack-tip constraint for COEC specimens. Combining with the previous experiments on J—R curves, the constraint-coirected J—R curves for SA-508 steel.specimens are given, which may.be used to predict the fracture toughness of actual.cracked components in structural.integrity.assessment.

An unusual.F_(3)basal.stacking faul. resul.ing from twin-disl.cation interaction in magnesium is observed in mol.cul.r dy.amics *** F_(3)faul. is produced in the twin l.ttice from the interaction between a migrating(1012)twin boundary.and a partial.disl.cation of either a prismaticedge,or a prismaticmixed disl.cation in the *** condition is that the partial.disl.cation needs to have a negative sign and l.e on a pl.ne intersecting a compression site of the twin *** F_(3)faul. can al.o be generated when a positive basal.a>mixed disl.cation in the twin l.ttice,with sl.p pl.ne intersecting a compression site of the twin boundary.interacts with a basal.prismatic twinning *** F_(3)faul. comprises two I_(1) faul.s that have the same character but are separated by.two basal.*** has one end connected to the twin boundary.and the other end bounded by.a l.ttice defect with a Burgers vector identical.to that of a 30°Shockl.y.partial.*** formation frequency.of the F_(3)faul. is higher at a l.wer shear stress(bel.w∼400 MPa)and/or a l.wer temperature(100 K and 200 K).The F_(3)faul. can decompose into a gl.ssil. 30°Shockl.y.and a T_(2) faul. at a temperature above∼400 *** rel.tionships between the F_(3)faul. and other ty.es of basal.stacking faul.s such as I_(2),T_(2) or paired I_(1) faul.s that are separated by.mul.ipl. basal.l.y.rs are discussed.
