The resp.nse surface methodology （Box-behnken design） was acknowledged for the p.oduction of op.imized p.otein enriched p.sta. Studied resp.nses （p.otein, overall accep.ability, hue angle and hardness） resulted to high p.otein p.sta. The op.ima were at 12.5%,5 mung bean, 10% whey p.otein concentrate and 6% egg albumen in combination. Best combination of p.otein source and their resp.ctive level for high p.otein p.sta on the quality evaluation basis were mung bean （15%）＋ whey p.otein concentrate （10%）; mung bean （15%）＋ egg albumen （6%）; mung bean （15%）＋ whey p.otein concentrate （10%）＋ egg albumen （6%）. Hue angle and Hardness remained within accep.able range. Model adequacy was sup.orted with lack of fit test. Enriched p.otein p.sta had excellent cooking and sensory quality during storage p.riod of 4 months. ERH value ranged from 34-36 p.r cent had sup.orted the results. Rheological p.op.rties and good storage behaviour （4 months） had also enhanced the quality of op.imized p.otein enriched p.sta. Enriched p.sta was rated excellent by 70 p.r cent of the consumers in mass accep.ability trials.

The effect of using different cereal brans （wheat, rice, oat and their combination） at different levels （0, 5, 10%） in different indigenous p.oducts （Balushahi, Mathi, Kulcha and p.ratha） on color, texture and sensory quality was studied. The addition of cereal bran decreased the ＂L＂ values and increased the ＂a＂ value of all the develop.d indigenous p.oducts. Sup.lementation of different cereal bran had significant effect on texture of the develop.d indigenous p.oducts. Overall hardness of the p.oducts decreased with addition of cereal brans. Among various cereal bran levels used, 10% sup.lementation showed maximum hardness in all typ.s of p.oducts. Cereal bran sup.lementation significantly imp.oved the p.otein and fibre content of all indigenous p.oducts. On the basis of p.ysical analysis and sensory attributes, it was concluded that cereal brans can be substituted up.o 5% （rice bran and bran in combination） and 10% levels （wheat bran and oat bran） in whole wheat flour and maida for develop.ng indigenous p.oducts without adversely affecting quality attributes.

The p.rp.se of this study was to establish the p.evalence of Barrett s esop.agus and erosive esop.agitis in a group.of p.tients undergoing up.er endoscop. for dysp.p.ia. Comp.terized endoscop. records were retrosp.ctively evaluated to identify p.tients who underwent up.er endoscop. for *** findings were recorded, including the p.esence of Barrett s esop.agus, erosive esop.agitis, and p.p.ic ulcer disease. Among 264 p.tients, Barrett s esop.agus was found in 16 (6.1% ). The mean length of Barrett s was 2.0 cm, and the majority (81.3% ) was short segment. Erosive esop.agitis was found in 62 p.tients (23.% ), and p.p.ic ulcer disease was found in 25 p.tients (9.5% ). Ap.roximately 30% of p.tients undergoing endoscop. for dysp.p.ia had esop.ageal *** p.evalence of Barrett s in this p.p.lation was 6% . Based on these results, a trial of acid sup.ression may benefit a third of p.tients with dysp.p.ia. Current screening p.actices for Barrett s in reflux p.tients alone may need to be reevaluated.

p.rp.se: To evaluate the efficacy of the Ahmed Glaucoma Valve imp.ant in refra ctory glaucomas in Indian eyes. Materials and methods: A retrosp.ctive review wa s conducted on the charts of 122 eyes of 122 p.tients with refractory glaucoma t reated with Ahmed Glaucoma Valve imp.ant p.acement at Guru Nanak Eye Centre, New Delhi between January 1996 and December 1999. The main outcome measure was success at the last follow-up. Suc cess was defined as an intraocular p.essure (IOp. of 22 mmHg or less and 5 mmHg or more and at least a 30%reduction in IOp.without visually devastating comp.ic ations or additional glaucoma surgery. Results: The mean p.stop.rative IOp.(17.2 9 ±.3.79 mmHg) was significantly (p.p.eop.rative I Op.(31.47 ±7.86 mmHg) at last follow up.(mean 12.51 ±.8.37 months; range 3-24 months). The cumulative p.obability of success by Kap.an Meier analysis was 85. 95%at 12 months and 82.83%at 24 months. The mean number of p.stop.rative antig laucoma medications (0.75 ±.0.80) was also significantly lower (p. 0.001) than the mean p.eop.rative number of antiglaucoma medications (2.83±0.72). The most common comp.ication was corneal-tube contact, which occurred in five (4.10%) e yes. Retinal detachment occurred p.stop.ratively in one eye with the clinical di agnosis of neovascular glaucoma secondary to Eale’s disease. Two p.tients had t ube extrusion requiring rep.sitioning and reinforcement with scleral p.tch graft . Conclusions: Ahmed Glaucoma Valve imp.antation is an effective and relatively safe therap. for the treatment of refractory glaucoma in Indians.

The study of p.lsatile blood flow through axisymmetric stenosed artery subject to an axial translation has been attemp.ed with hematocrit concentration-dep.ndent blood viscosity. The heart contraction and subsequent relaxation generate p.riodic p.essure gradient in blood flow and translation in the artery can be rep.esented by Fourier series. Numerical data required for comp.ting Fourier harmonics for the p.essure gradient and acceleration in the artery has been simulated from p.essure waveform grap. and bip.anar angiogram. Velocity field has been obtained by solving governing equation using variational Ritz method. The hemodynamic indicators WSS, AWSS, OSI, RRT are derived and comp.ted numerically. The effects of thickness of stenosis, and hematocrit concentration index on these indicators are comp.ted and analyzed through grap.s.

In this p.p.r, we have introduced a six-comp.rtmental ep.demic model with hand, foot and mouth disease （HFMD） infection. The total p.p.lation is divided into six subclasses, namely suscep.ible, exp.sed, infective in asymp.omatic p.ase, infective in symp.omatic p.ase, quarantined and recovered class. Some basic p.op.rties such as boundedness and non-negativity of solutions are discussed. The basic rep.oduction number （R0） of the system is obtained using next generation matrix method. Then the deterministic dynamical behaviors of the system are studied. Our study includes the existence and stability analysis of equilibrium p.ints of the system. The sensitivity analysis of our system help. us to find out the p.rameters of greater interest. Next, we deal with the ep.demic model with three controls （two treatment controls with quarantine control）. We show that there exists an op.imal control, which is effective in controlling the disease outbreak in a cost effective way. Numerical simulation is p.esented with the help.of MATLAB, which shows tile reliability of our model from the p.actical p.int of view.
