This work uses the molecular dynamics approach to study the effects of functionalization of carbon nanotubes(CNTs)on the mechanical properties of Cu64Zr36 metallic glass(MG).Three types of functional groups,carboxylic,vinyl and ester were *** effect of CNT volume fraction(Vf)and the number of functional groups attached to CNT,on the mechanical properties and thermal conductivity of CNT-MG composites was analysed using Biovia Materials *** lower values of Vf(from 0 to 5%),the percentage increase in Young’s modulus was approximately 66%.As the value of Vf was increased further(from 5 to 12%),the rate of increase in Young’s modulus was reduced to 16%.The thermal conductivity was found to increase from 1.52 W/mK at Vf?0%to 5.88 W/mK at Vf?12%,thus giving an increase of approximately 286%.Functionalization of SWCNT reduced the thermal conductivity of the SWCNT-MG composites.

The study investigates long-term changes in annual and seasonal rainfall patterns in the Indira sagar Region of Madhya Pradesh, India, from 1901 to 2010. Agriculture sustainability, food supply, natural resource development, and hydropower system reliability in the region rely heavily on monsoon rainfall. Monthly rainfall data from three stations (East Nimar, Barwani, and West Nimar) were analyzed. Initially, the pre-whitening method was applied to eliminate serial correlation effects from the rainfall data series. Subsequently, statistical trends in annual and seasonal rainfall were assessed using both parametric (student-t test) and non-parametric tests [Mann-Kendall, Sen’s slope estimator, and Cumulative Sum (CUSUM)]. The magnitude of the rainfall trend was determined using Theil-Sen’s slope estimator. Spatial analysis of the Mann-Kendall test on an annual basis revealed a statistically insignificant decreasing trend for Barwani and East Nimar and an increasing trend for West Nimar. On a seasonal basis, the monsoon season contributes a significant percentage (88.33%) to the total annual rainfall. The CUSUM test results indicated a shift change detection in annual rainfall data for Barwani in 1997, while shifts were observed in West and East Nimar stations in 1929. These findings offer valuable insights into regional rainfall behavior, aiding in the planning and management of water resources and ecological systems.

Evaluation of fundus autofluorescence patterns in age-related macular degeneration

AIM： To study the various morphological patterns of fundus autofluorescence （FAF） images in patients with age-related macular degeneration （AMD） in Indian ***： Totally 179 eyes of 104 patients with clinical diagnosis of AMD were recruited into the study. Autofluorescence images were captured using confocal scanning laser ophthalmoscope and the patterns of FAF were ***： Of 179 eyes, 27 （15.08%） were early AMD, 58 （32.41%） were intermediate AMD, 94 eyes （52.51%） were late AMD. Of 94 eyes with late AMD, 79 （84.04%） were neovascular AMD and 15 （15.96%） were central geographic atrophy. In eyes with early and intermediate AMD, 9 patterns of FAF were noted. Six patterns （normal, minimal change, focal increased, patchy increased, linear, reticular） were similar to that in the published classification. Two patterns （lacelike and speckled） described in the published classification were not found. Three new patterns （focal hypo-fluorescence, patchy hypo-fluorescence, mixed focal hypo-fluorescence and hyper-fluorescence） were detected. In eyes with neovascular AMD, 6 morphological patterns of FAF were noted. Two patterns （mixed hypo-fluorescence and hyper-fluorescence, central hypo-fluorescence with hyper-fluorescent rim） were similar to that in published classification. Two patterns （normal, near normal or normal background fluorescence in the centre of hypo-fluorescent area） described in the published classification were not found. Four new patterns （minimal change, hypo-fluorescent patch, central hypo-fluorescence with surrounding reticular, bull’s eye） were recognized. In eye with central geographic atrophy 5 morphological patterns were noted and these were similar to that in published ***： Phenotypic differences in the pattern of FAF exist in the study population compared to existing classification systems.

Climate change and land use change pose a threat to the world’s biodiversity and have significant impacts on the geographic distribution and composition of many bird species,but little is known about how they affect threatened large-sized waterbird species that rely on agricultural *** address this gap,we investigated how climate and land use changes influence the distribution and nesting habitats of the globally vulnerable Lesser Adjutant(Leptoptilos javanicus) in *** 2012 and 2023,we collected distribution data from 24 districts and nesting site information from 18 *** a nation-wide breeding survey conducted in 2020,we documented a total of 581 fledglings from 346 nests in 109 *** ensemble model predicted a current potential distribution of 15%(21,637 km2) and a potential nesting habitat of 13%(19,651 km2) for the species in *** highest predicted current suitable distribution and nesting habitat was in Madhesh Province,while none was predicted in Karnali *** majority of this predicted distributional and nesting habitat falls on agricultural landscapes(>70%).Our model showed a likely range expansion of up to 15%(21,573 km2) for the distribution and up to 12%(17,482 km2) for the nesting habitat under SSP5-8.5 scenarios for the *** range expansion is expected to occur mainly within the current distribution and breeding range(Tarai and some regions of Siwalk),particularly in Lumbini and Sudurpashchim provinces,and extend to the northern portions(Siwalik and Mid-hill regions) in other ***,the current Protected Areas and Important Bird and Biodiversity Areas are inadequate for providing optimal habitats for the *** the model suggests range expansion,the use of such novel habitats is primarily contingent on the availability and protection of large-sized trees(particularly Bombax ceiba,observed in 65% of colonies) in agricultural regions where nesting ***,our research sugges

Misoprostol has been used in obstetrics for a number of years in all trimesters of pregnancy. Apart from its side effect of causing congenital malformations in offsprings of users who have unsuccessfully used it as an abortifacient, it is considered a safe drug with few side effects. We here report a case of severe hypersensitivity reaction to misoprostol in a patient where it was used for first trimester abortion in a case of missed abortion.
