Antimicrobial resistance(AMR)has become a global health crisis in need of novel *** this end,antibiotic combination therapies,which combine multiple antibiotics for treatment,have at-tracted significant attention as a potential approach for combating *** facilitate advances in anti-biotic combination therapies,most notably in investigating antibiotic interactions and identifying synergistic antibiotic combinations however,there remains a need for automated high-throughput plat-forms that can create and examine antibiotic combinations on-demand,at scale,and with minimal reagent *** address these challenges,we have developed a Robotic-Printed Combinatorial Droplet(RoboDrop)platform by integrating a programmable droplet microfuidic device that generates antibiotic combinations in nanoliter droplets in automation,a robotic arm that arranges the droplets in an array,and a camera that images the array of thousands of droplets in *** further implement a resazurin-based bacterial viability assay to accelerate our antibiotic combination *** a demonstration,we use RoboDrop to corroborate two pairs of antibiotics with known interactions and subsequently identify a new synergistic combination of cefsulodin,penicillin,and oxacillin against a model *** *** therefore envision RoboDrop becoming a useful tool to efficiently identify new synergistic antibiotic combinations toward combating AMR.

Hybrid model for BOF oxygen blowing time prediction based on oxygen balance mechanism and deep neural network

The amount of oxygen blown into the converter is one of the key parameters for the control of the converter blowing process,which directly affects the tap-to-tap time of converter. In this study, a hybrid model based on oxygen balance mechanism (OBM) and deep neural network (DNN) was established for predicting oxygen blowing time in converter. A three-step method was utilized in the hybrid model. First, the oxygen consumption volume was predicted by the OBM model and DNN model, respectively. Second, a more accurate oxygen consumption volume was obtained by integrating the OBM model and DNN model. Finally, the converter oxygen blowing time was calculated according to the oxygen consumption volume and the oxygen supply intensity of each heat. The proposed hybrid model was verified using the actual data collected from an integrated steel plant in China, and compared with multiple linear regression model, OBM model, and neural network model including extreme learning machine, back propagation neural network, and DNN. The test results indicate that the hybrid model with a network structure of 3 hidden layer layers, 32-16-8 neurons per hidden layer, and 0.1 learning rate has the best prediction accuracy and stronger generalization ability compared with other models. The predicted hit ratio of oxygen consumption volume within the error±300 m^(3)is 96.67%;determination coefficient (R^(2)) and root mean square error (RMSE) are0.6984 and 150.03 m^(3), respectively. The oxygen blow time prediction hit ratio within the error±0.6 min is 89.50%;R2and RMSE are0.9486 and 0.3592 min, respectively. As a result, the proposed model can effectively predict the oxygen consumption volume and oxygen blowing time in the converter.

The failure cause of a tinned copper wire clamp in marine atmosphere was studied systematically by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy,scanning electron microscopy with energy dispersive spectroscopy and electrochemical *** main components of the green rust on the surface of the damaged wire clamp are SnO_(2),CuO,Cu_(2)Cl(OH)_(3) and CuCO(OH)_(2).Much of green rust distributes at the platform edge along the axial direction on the crimp connection,and severe corrosion and corrosion pits occur at the platform edge zone along the axial *** enriching Cl-at the marine atmosphere and the existing O_(2) in air collectively enhance the corrosion process of the tin coating and the copper *** element model results show that the residual stress and strain of the tin coating are the largest at the platform edge along the axial direction on the crimp connection,and the corresponding electrode potential of the tin coating at this zone drops *** above results indicate that the residual strain increases the driving force of the corrosion electrochemical reactions and accelerates the corrosion rate and the pit corrosion of the tin coating at this zone.

BACKGROUND Recent studies on dialysis anticoagulation therapy in patients with renal failure have shown that Nafamostat mesylate,a broad-spectrum potent serine protease inhibitor,has strong anticoagulation and anti-fiber *** To evaluate the efficacy and safety of Nafamostat mesylate in patients with end-stage renal *** Seventy-five patients with end-stage renal failure who received hemodialysis at our hospital between January 2020 and August 2021 were selected and divided into the observation group(Nafamostat mesylate for injection,n=33)and control group(heparin sodium injection,n=32).General patient data,indicators of clinical efficacy,dialyzer hemocoagulation parameters,coagulation function indices,and hemoglobin concentration and platelet count before and after treatment,and the occurrence of adverse reactions after treatment were compared between the two *** The two groups showed no significant differences in general patient data(P>0.05).The post-treatment effectiveness rate in the control group was lower than that in the observation group(P0.05),while the number of patients in grade 0 was lower in the control group,and the number of patients in grades II and III was higher in the control group(Plized ratio values in the control group were higher than those in the observation group,while the fibrinogen level in the control group was lower than that in the observation group(P0.05).The total number of post-treatment adverse reactions in the observation group was lower than that in the control group(P<0.05).CONCLUSION Treatment of patients showing end-stage renal failure with Nafamostat mesylate can s

Rectangular microchannel heat sinks(MCHS)are widely used to cool high-heat-flux electronic ***,previous studies focused mainly on MCHS with uniform channels(UCs).This study considers a microchannel heat sink with non-uniform channels(NUCs).A mathematical model is developed based on energy equations and the Darcy flow *** expressions for total thermal resistance and coolant pressure drop are derived using the thermoelectric *** and numerical simulations are performed to verify the mathematical *** non-uniformity increases,total coolant pressure drop decreases but at the cost of higher thermal *** overall performance of NUCs is better than that of UCs because of their lower ratio of pumping power to cooling *** transfer performance of NUCs changes little for more than 120 channels and depends mainly on channel arrangement.A multi-objective optimization is conducted to minimize the thermal resistance and pumping power of an *** optimal NUC saves 64%pumping power compared with a conventional UC for the total thermal resistance of 0.1℃/W,indicating that the use of non-uniform channels could be very helpful to reduce the flow resistance of MCHS.
