Evolution of plasticized MnO–Al2O3–SiO2-based nonmetallic inclusion in 18wt%Cr-8wt% Ni stainless steel and its properties during soaking process

The properties of MnO–Al2O3–SiO2-based plasticized inclusion are likely to change during soaking process due to its low melting point. In this study, the evolution of the MnO–Al2O3–SiO2-based inclusion of 18 wt%Cr-8 wt%Ni stainless steel under isothermal soaking process at 1250°C for different times was investigated by laboratory-scale experiments and thermodynamic analysis. The results showed that the inclusion population density increased at the first stage and then decreased while their average size first decreased and then increased. In addition, almost no Cr2O3-concentrated regions existed within the inclusion before soaking, but more and more Cr2O3 precipitates were formed during soaking. Furthermore, the plasticity of the inclusion deteriorated due to a decrease in the amount of liquid phase and an increase in the high-melting-pointphase MnO–Cr2O3 spinel after the soaking process. In-situ observations by high-temperature confocal laser scanning microscopy(CLSM) confirmed that liquid phases were produced in the inclusions and the inclusions grew rather quickly during the soaking process. Both the experimental results and thermodynamic analysis conclude that there are three routes for inclusion evolution during the soaking process. In particular, Ostwald ripening plays an important role in the inclusion evolution, i.e., MnO–Al2O3–SiO2-based inclusions grow by absorbing the newly precipitated smaller-size MnO–Cr2O3 inclusions.

Investigation of the kinetic mechanism of the demanganization reaction between carbon-saturated liquid iron and CaF2–CaO–SiO2-based slags

The demanganization reaction kinetics of carbon-saturated liquid iron with an eight-component slag consisting of CaO–SiO2–MgO–FeO–MnO–Al2O3–TiO2–CaF2 was investigated at 1553, 1623, and 1673 K in this study. The rate-controlling step（RCS） for the demanganization reaction with regard to the hot metal pretreatment conditions was studied via kinetics analysis based on the fundamental equation of heterogeneous reaction kinetics. From the temperature dependence of the mass transfer coefficient of a transition-metal oxide（MnO）, the apparent activation energy of the demanganization reaction was estimated to be 189.46 kJ·mol^–1 in the current study, which indicated that the mass transfer of MnO in the molten slag controlled the overall rate of the demanganization reaction. The calculated apparent activation energy was slightly lower than the values reported in the literature for mass transfer in a slag phase. This difference was attributed to an increase in the ＂specific reaction interface＂（SRI） value, either as a result of turbulence at the reaction interface or a decrease of the absolute amount of slag phase during sampling, and to the addition of calcium fluoride to the slag.

本文尝试在不规则框架结构中应用阻尼器,并通过ETABS结构分析软件建立三维有限元模型,采用权系数布置法和逐层逼近法对粘滞流体阻尼器进行优化布置,并提出结构整体反应量的两个评价指标,对各层均匀布置、权系数优化布置和逐层逼近优化布置的结构进行计算分析。粘滞流体阻尼器优化布置结果表明:对于结构地震反应的控制,逐层逼近法略优于权系数布置法,且两种方法均优于各层均布法,但权系数布置法较逐层逼近法计算简单,耗时短且控制效果接近,所以对实际工程来说,权系数布置法更为实用。

It assesses the current applications and challenges of peptide-based drugs in these diseases, illustrating the pharmaceutical areas where peptide-based drugs demonstrate significant potential. Use of forestry waste as an alternative raw material for generating metallurgical coke

Forestry waste(FW)is a significant renewable energy source in *** substitution of coal blends(BC)with forestry waste to produce metallurgical coke was investigated aiming at expanding alternative resources and reducing CO_(2)emissions in ironmaking *** BC with different ratios of FW were carbonized in a fixed bed reactor,and the physicochemical structure of the coke derived from FW/BC co-carbonization was characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy,X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy,solid-state^(13)C nuclear magnetic resonance,optical microscopy,and scanning electron *** results reveal that the suitable incorporation of FW in BC is 10 wt.%,and the index of coke quality exhibits a good correlation with the optical anisotropy index and the aromaticity of the as-obtained *** partial substitution of BC with FW exhibits potential benefits for colloid formation,owing to the higher hydrogen in ***,as the substitution ratio of BC with FW increases,it inhibits coke agglomeration due to more tortuous stacked structures formation during volatile releasing ***,it was identified that the substitution of higher BC ratios with FW results in the partial replacement of aromatic carbons by oxygenlinked carbons and aliphatic *** substitution leads to a reduction in the aromaticity of the as-obtained coke.

Uncovering the oxidation mechanism of sphalerite(ZnS)in the absence and presence of water:A first-principles investigation

Herein,a first-principles investigation was innovatively conducted to research the surface oxidation of ZnS-like sphalerite in the absence and presence of H_(2)O .The findings showed that single O_(2) was preferred to be dissociated adsorption on sphalerite surface by generating SAO and Zn AO bonds,and the S atom on the surface was the most energy-supported site for O_(2) adsorption,on which a≡Zn-O-S-O-Zn≡structure will be ***,dissociated adsorption of single H_(2)O will not *** was preferred to be adsorbed on the top Zn atom on sphalerite surface in molecular form through Zn-O ***,sphalerite oxidation can occur as if O_(2) was present regardless of the presence of H_(2)O ,and when H_(2)O and O_(2) coexisted,the formation of sulfur oxide(SO_(2) )needed a lower energy barrier and it was easier to form on sphalerite surface than that only O_(2) *** the absence of H_(2)O ,when SO_(2) was generated,further oxidation of which would form neutral zinc *** the presence of H_(2)O ,the formation of SO_(2) on sphalerite surface was easier and the rate of further oxidation to form sulfate was also ***,the occurrence of sphalerite oxidation was accelerated.

Self-assembly of two pairs of homochiral M2L4 coordination capsules with varied confined space using Tr?ger's base ligands

Chiral coordination molecular cages/capsules with discrete nanoconfined chiral cavities demonstrate significant potential applications across various fields. In this study, we utilized Tr?ger's base as the building block to design and synthesize two pairs of enantiopure ligands. These ligands were then self-assembled with Pd(II) ions through chiral self-sorting coordination, resulting in the formation of two pairs of homochiral M2L4-type coordination molecular capsules. Notably, due to differences in the substitution positions on the Tr?ger's base, these two pairs of enantiomeric coordination molecular capsules exhibited distinct levels of cavity closures, cavity sizes, and host-guest recognition properties. This research offers valuable insights into the construction of novel chiral molecular capsules and the regulation of confined cavities.

Total synthesis of(+)-taberdicatine B and(+)-tabernabovine B

The first total synthesis of(+)-taberdicatine B and(+)-tabernabovine B has been accomplished in 10steps with 26.9% overall yield and 15 steps with 7.3% overall yield, respectively. The prominent features of this efficient synthetic strategy include the following:(1)(+)-Taberdicatine B and(+)-tabernabovine B were accessed from common advanced intermediates by varying the substituents;(2) A one-pot asymmetric bromocyclization/hydrolysis was explored to assemble HPI skeleton;(3) Dieckmann condensation to form β-keto ester for the assembly of seven-membered ring;(4) An ester reduction/amide semireduction/cyclization sequence was applied to form the cage-like framework.
