BACKGROUND To compare the efficacy and safety of total neoadjuvant therapy(TNT)and neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy(nCRT)in the treatment of middle and low locally advanced rectal *** study will systematically collect and integrate studies to evaluate the ability of these two treatments to improve tumor shrinkage rates,surgical resection rates,tumor-free survival,and severe adverse *** To provide clinicians and patients with more reliable treatment options to optimize treatment outcomes and quality of life for patients with locally advanced rectal cancer by comparing the advantages and disadvantages of the two treatment *** A full search of all clinical studies on the effectiveness and safety of TNT and nCRT for treating locally advanced rectal cancer identified in Chinese(CNKI,Wanfang,China Biomedical Literature Database)and English(PubMed,Embase)databases was *** system assessors independently screened the studies according to the inclusion and exclusion *** evaluation and RESULTS Finally,14 studies were included,six of which were randomized controlled studies.A total of 3797 patients were included,including 1865 in the TNT group and 1932 in the nCRT *** two sets of baseline data were *** results of the meta-analysis showed that the pCR rate[odds ratio(OR)=1.57,95%confidence interval(CI):1.30-1.90,P<0.00001],T stage degradation rate(OR=2.16,95%CI:1.63-2.57,P<0.00001),and R0 resection rate(OR=1.42,95%CI:1.09-1.85,P=0.009)were significantly greater in the nCRT group than in the nCRT *** was no significant difference in the incidence of grade 3/4 acute toxicity or perioperative complications between the two *** 5-year OS[hazard ratio(HR)=0.84,95%CI:0.69-1.02,P=0.08]and DFS(HR=0.94,95%CI:0.03-1.39,P=0.74)of the TNT group were similar to those of the nCRT *** TNT has greater clinical efficacy and safety than nCRT in the treatment of locally advanced rectal cancer.

BACKGROUND To investigate the relationship between interstitial maturity and prognosis of colorectal *** To examine the correlation between interstitial maturity and the prognosis of colorectal *** The paper database PubMed,EMBASE,Cochranelibrary,Springerlink,CNKI,and Wanfang database were searched until December 2023."tumor stroma maturity""desmoplastic stroma reaction""desmoplastic reaction""stroma reaction""degree of stroma reaction""stroma classification""stroma density""colorectal cancer""colon cancer""rectal cancer""prognosis"were searched for the search *** system assessors independently screened the literature quality according to the inclusion exclusion criteria,Quality evaluation and data extraction were performed for the included literatures,and meta-analysis was performed for randomized control trials included at using Review Manager 5.2 *** Finally,data of 9849 patients with colorectal cancer from 19 cosets in 15 literatures were included,including 4339 patients with mature type(control group),3048 patients with intermediate type(intermediate group)and 2456 patients with immature type(immature group).The results of meta-analysis showed:Relapse-free survival[hazard ratio(HR)=2.66,95%confidence interval(CI):2.30-3.08;P<0.00001],disease-free survival(HR=3.68,95%CI:2.33-5.81;P<0.00001)and overall survival(HR=1.70,95%CI:1.53-1.87;P<0.00001)were significantly lower than those in mature group(control group);relapse-free survival(HR=1.36,95%CI:1.17-1.59;P<0.0001)and disease-free survival rate(HR=1.85,95%CI:1.53-2.24;P<0.0001)was significantly lower than the mature group(control group).CONCLUSION There is the correlation between tumor interstitial maturity and survival prognosis of colorectal cancer,and different degrees of tumor interstitial maturity have a certain impact on the quality of life of colorectal cancer patients.

Continuous Variable Entanglement of Two Mesoscopic Josephson Junctions Induced by a Thermal Radiation Field

The continuous-variable （CV） entanglement between two mesoscopic Josephson junctions is studied and the time-dependent characteristic function in Wigner representation for the Josephson junction subsystem driven by a singlemode thermal field is analytically obtained. It is found that an initial lowest energy state of the junction subsystem can evolve into a two-mode entangled Gaussian state through the interaction with the thermal radiation field. Furthermore, we investigate the influence of the temperature on the entanglement of the junctions and find that the CV entanglement of the two junctions shows the critical behavior with respect to the temperature.

Synthesis of KNiF_3 with Lower Oxygen Content by Refluxing Method

The complex fluoride, KNiF3, with perovskite structure was synthesized by refluxing KF and Ni（NO3）2·6H20 in ethanediol. The samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction（XRD）, transmission electron microscopy（TEM）, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy（XPS）, and ultraviolet-visible diffuse reflectance speetroseopy（UV-Vis DRS）. The results indicate that the mean diameter of KNiF3 particles is about 30-60 nm and the oxygen content in the samples is ≤5%. The prepared KNiF3 shows obvious absorption peaks at 400-830 nm.

Viscoelastic stress change from the 1931 M_(w)7.8 Fuyun earthquake and its impacts on seismic activity around the Altai mountains

The 1931 M_(w)7.8 Fuyun earthquake occurred around the Altai mountains, an intracontinental deformation belt with limited active strain-rate accumulation. To explore whether seismic activity in this deformation belt was affected by stress interaction among different active faults, we calculate the Coulomb failure stress change(ΔCFS) induced by the Fuyun earthquake due to coseismic deformation of the elastic crust and postseismic viscoelastic relaxation of the lower crust and upper mantle. Numerical results show that the total ΔCFS at a 10-km depth produced by the Fuyun earthquake attains approximately 0.015-0.134 bar near the epicenter, and just before the occurrence of the 2003 M_(w)7.2 Chuya earthquake, which distances about 400 km away from the Fuyun earthquake. Among the increased ΔCFS,viscoelastic relaxation from 1931 to 2003 contributes to approximately 0.014-0.131 bar, accounting for>90% of the total ΔCFS. More importantly, we find that for the recorded seismicity in the region with a radius of about 270 km to the Fuyun earthquake from 1970 to 2018, the percentage of earthquakes that fall in positive lobes of ΔCFS resolved on the NNW-SSE Fuyun strike-slip fault, on the NWW-SEE Irtysh strike-slip fault, and on the NW-SE Kurti reverse fault is up to 67.22%-91.36%. Therefore, the predictedΔCFS suggests that the impact of the 1931 M_(w)7.8 Fuyun earthquake on seismic activity around the Altai mountains is still significant as to hasten occurrence of the 2003 M_(w)7.2 Chuya earthquake at a relatively far distance and to trigger its aftershocks in the near-field even after several decades of the mainshock.

By virtue of the atom-and step-economy, utilization of simple arenes as a supplant of pre-prepared aryl metal species or aryl halides for the synthesis of arylated chiral molecules has attracted great attention from the synthetic community. While transition-metal-catalyzed enantioselective diarylation of tethered alkenes has been employed to prepare important chiral cyclic compounds, the direct use of simple arenes as aryl precursors is still underdeveloped, probably due to the difficulties in the effective control of the reactivity, site-selectivity and/or enantioselectivity. Herein we report an asymmetric Pd/Ag dual metal catalytic system for the non-directed, site-and enantioselective domino Heck/intermolecular C–H functionalization of *** studies showed that Pd and Ag act in cooperation in the catalysis and the chiral bisphosphine ligand plays a bifunctional role, i.e., assisting the silver species in the cleavage of the aryl C–H bond, while inducing the enantioselectivity on direct complexation with palladium. This method provides an efficient approach to the corresponding chiral oxindoles with good enantiomeric excesses from a broad scope of arenes, including fluoroarenes, heteroarenes and several complex products derived from medicines or natural products.

The trajectory tracking control performance of nonholonomic wheeled mobile robots(NWMRs)is subject to nonholonomic constraints,system uncertainties,and external *** paper proposes a barrier function-based adaptive sliding mode control(BFASMC)method to provide high-precision,fast-response performance and robustness for *** with the conventional adaptive sliding mode control,the proposed control strategy can guarantee that the sliding mode variables converge to a predefined neighborhood of origin with a predefined reaching time independent of the prior knowledge of the uncertainties and disturbances *** advantage of the proposed algorithm is that the control gains can be adaptively adjusted to follow the disturbances amplitudes thanks to the barrier *** benefit is that the overestimation of control gain can be eliminated,resulting in chattering ***,a modified barrier function-like control gain is employed to prevent the input saturation problem due to the physical limit of the *** stability analysis and comparative experiments demonstrate that the proposed BFASMC can ensure the prespecified convergence performance of the NWMR system output variables and strong robustness against uncertainties/disturbances.

Structural evolution and high-temperature sensing performance of polymer-derived SiAlBCN ceramics

In situ temperature monitoring has become extremely imperative in high-temperature harsh environments and polymer-derived ceramics(PDCs)as sensing materials have attracted great ***,the stability and oxidation/corrosion resistance of PDCs cannot be simultaneously achieved at the moment,limiting their practical ***,polymer-derived SiAlBCN ceramics were synthesized via polymer conversion method under different pyrolysis *** microstructure evolution,high temperature sensing properties,and stability were investigated in *** results show that the amorphous SiAlBCN phase grows more orderly and the size of the free carbon phase enlarges with the increasing *** defect concentration displays a decreasing ***,the SiAlBCN ceramics as sensing materials exhibit a good temperature-resistance property from roo temperature to 1100℃.The fabricated SiAlBCN temperature sensor possesses excellent stability,repeatability,and ***,SiAlBCN ceramics exhibit distinguished oxidation/corrosion resistance after 100 h treatment at 1200℃in a water/oxygen environment,which is attributed to their low corrosive rate constant(0.57 mg/(cm^(2)·h))and oxidative rate constant(3.43 mg^(2)/(cm^(4)·h)).Therefore,polymer-derived SiAlBCN ceramics as sensing materials,which possess outstanding stability and oxidation/corrosion resistance,have great potential for in-situ monitoring of extreme environmental temperatures in the future.

The ubiquitous implementation of integrated microelectronics requires the on-chip power sources featured with the lightweight configuration design,high areal-capacity-loadings as well as facile reaction kinetics that beyond the current available microbattery ***,this study constructs a mechanically flexible,nanocellulose fiber(NCF)reinforced microbattery configuration,which consists of metal-organic frameworks(ZIF-8)modified NCF as the separator(MOF@NCF),the carbonized MOF@NCF as the metallic deposition substrate(c-MOF@NCF)as well as gradient-structured LiFePO4 particles infiltrated in the NCF matrix(LFP@NCF)as the *** film-stacked,integrated NCF-based microbattery prototype not only achieves the facile reaction kinetics with homogenized,dendrite-free Li metal deposition at high-capacity-loadings(2 mAh·cm^(-2)),but also eliminates the necessary use of metallic current collector to maximize the electroactive mass ratio,which therefore enables the high energy density of 6.8 mWh·cm^(-2)at the power output of 1.36 mW·cm^(-2)as well as the robust cyclability upon various geometric flexing *** study presents a quantum leap towards the facile reaction kinetics and multi-scale interfacial stability for the flexible microbattery construction that based on the sustainable utilization of bio-scaffolds.

Comparison between sepsis-induced coagulopathy and sepsis-associated coagulopathy criteria in identifying sepsis-associated disseminated intravascular coagulation

BACKGROUND:Disseminated intravascular coagulation(DIC)is associated with increased mortality in sepsis *** this study,we aimed to assess the clinical ability of sepsis-induced coagulopathy(SIC)and sepsis-associated coagulopathy(SAC)criteria in identifying overt-DIC and preDIC status in sepsis ***:Data from 419 sepsis patients were retrospectively collected from July 2018 to December *** performances of the SIC and SAC were assessed to identify overt-DIC on days 1,3,7,or *** SIC status or SIC score on day 1,the SAC status or SAC score on day 1,and the sum of the SIC or SAC scores on days 1 and 3 were compared in terms of their ability to identify *** SIC or SAC status on day 1 was evaluated as a pre-DIC indicator for anticoagulant ***:On day 1,the incidences of coagulopathy according to overt-DIC,SIC and SAC criteria were 11.7%,22.0%and 31.5%,*** specificity of SIC for identifying overt-DIC was significantly higher than that of the SAC criteria from day 1 to day 14(P3 had a significantly higher sensitivity(72.00%)and area under the curve(AUC)(0.69)in identifying pre-DIC than did the SIC or SAC status(sensitivity:SIC status 44.00%,SAC status 52.00%;AUC:SIC status 0.62,SAC status 0.61).The sum of the SIC scores on days 1 and 3 had a higher AUC value for identifying the pre-DIC state than that of SAC(0.79 vs.0.69,P<0.001).Favorable effects of anticoagulant therapy were observed in SIC(adjusted hazard ratio[HR]=0.216,95%confidence interval[95%CI]:0.060–0.783,P=0.018)and SAC(adjusted HR=0.146,95%CI:0.041–0.513,P=0.003).CONCLUSION:The SIC and SAC seem to be valuable for predicting *** sum of SIC scores on days 1 and 3 has the potential to help identify pre-DIC.
