Investigation of adsorption/desorption behavior of Cr(Ⅵ) at the presence of inorganic and organic substance in membrane capacitive deionization(MCDI)

The adsorption and desorption behavior of Cr(Ⅵ) in membrane capacitive deionization(MCDI) was investigated systematically in the presence of bovine serum albumin(BSA) and KCl with different concentrations, respectively. Results revealed that Cr(Ⅵ) absorption was enhanced and the adsorption amount for Cr(Ⅵ) increased from 155.7 to 190.8 mg/g when KCl concentration increased from 100 to 200 mg/L in the adsorption process, which was attributed to the stronger driving force. However, the adsorption amount sharply decreased to 90.2 mg/g when KCl concentration reached up to 1000 mg/L suggesting the negative effect for Cr(Ⅵ) removal that high KCl concentration had. As for the effect of BSA on ion adsorption, the amount for Cr(Ⅵ) significantly declined to 78.3 mg/g and p H was found to be an important factor contributing to this significant reduction. Then, the desorption performance was also conducted and it was obtained that the presence of KCl had negligible effect on Cr(Ⅵ) desorption, while promoted by the addition of BSA. The incomplete desorption was obtained and the residual chromium ions onto the electrode after desorption was detected via energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy(EDS). Based on above analysis, the enhanced removal mechanism for Cr(Ⅵ) in MCDI was found to be consisted of ion adsorption onto electrode surface, the redox reaction of Cr(Ⅵ) into Cr(III)and precipitation, which was demonstrated by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS) and scanning electron microscope(SEM).

Methylenecyclopropanes are among the most robust building blocks in synthetic chemistry,but the study on(difluoromethylene)-cyclopropanes is rather limited,because of the difficulty in the synthesis of these ***,we report the invention of a novel carbene precursor,(1-diazo-2,2,2-trifluoroethyl)dimethyl(phenyl)silane(1a)and its application in the synthesis of(difluoromethylene)*** reaction proceeds through photocatalyzed[2+1]cyclization of readily available alkenes and diazo compound 1a followed by the work-up of the reaction through the elimination of silyl *** aromatic and aliphatic alkenes are tolerated by the mild reaction conditions,affording various(difluoromethylene)cyclopropanes in 44%–82%yield(>30 examples).Gram scale reaction and diversified downstream transformations highlight the synthetic potential of this *** experimental and DFT calculations suggest the involvement of triplet carbene intermediate.

The cyp19ala gene encodes an aromatase that plays a key role in sex differentiation of the gonad. The first bacterial artificial chromosome （BAC） sequence of half-smooth tongue sole （Cynoglossus sernilaeuis） containing the intact cyp19ala gene was reported and the conservation and synteny of the cyp19ala gene among teleosts were analyzed in the study. The BAC is 107 367 bp in size, with an overall guanine-cytosine （GC） content of 43.44%, and contains 4.38% transposable elements. Nine genes were predicted, including seven functional genes and two hypothetical genes. The cyp19ala gene of all tested teleosts has nine exons and eight introns, and potential binding sites flanking the transcriptional start site are conserved. The ex- pression pattern among teleosts is also similar during ovarian differentiation. Synteny analysis revealed a conserved gene cluster PKH4B-SL9A5-FHOD3-CEBPG-CEBPA among teleosts. These findings suggest that, among teleosts, cyp19ala genes not only have similar genomic structures, but also have conserved function- s. The genomic environment of cyp19ala in tongue sole is not universal in teleosts, reflecting the particular evolution of tongue sole cyp19ala after it diverged from the other teleosts.

Influence Factors on Photochemical Production of Methyl Iodide in Seawater

Methyl iodide(CH3I)is an important trace greenhouse gas in the atmosphere and an ozone-depleting *** influence of different environmental factors,such as the duration of illumination;the strength of illumination;the concentrations of humic acid,ferric ion(Fe^3+),and iodide ion(I−);and pH,on the photochemical production of CH3I in artificial seawater(ASW)were tested by simulated solar *** addition,Yangtze River Estuary waters from inshore to offshore were used to explore the relationship between the photochemical production of CH3I and different sources of dissolved organic matter(DOM)in natural seawater(NSW).The results revealed that higher concentrations of humic acid and I−,as well as higher strengths of illumination and longer illumination durations,promoted the photochemical formation of CH3I in *** addition of Fe^3+accelerated the photochemical production of CH3I,but high concentrations of Fe^3+inhibited the formation of *** on NSW obtained from the Yangtze River estuary spiked when concentrations of DOM were high,confirming that DOM plays an important role in facilitating the photochemical production of CH3I within the Yangtze River *** photochemical production of CH3I in the seawater was significantly higher under light conditions relative to dark conditions,indicating that illumination accelerated the production of CH3I.

The aim of this paper is to investigate and optimize the preparation of scutellarin(SCU)-loaded HP-β-CD/chitosan(CS) nanoparticles(CD/CS-SCU-NPs). CD/CS-SCU-NPs were prepared by ionic cross-linking method and the process and formulation variables were optimized using response surface methodology(RSM) with a three-level, three factor Box–Behnken design(BBD).The independent variables were the added amounts of CS, sodium tripolyphosphate(TPP)and Pluronic F-68 during the preparation. Dependent variables(responses) were particle size and entrapment efficiency. Mathematical equations and respond surface plots were used to correlate independent and dependent *** preparation process and formulation variables were optimized to achieve minimum particle size and maximum entrapment efficiency by calculating the overall desirability value(OD). The optimized NP formulation was characterized for particle size, PDI, zeta potential, entrapment efficiency and in vitro drug *** to the results, an optimized CD/CS-SCU-NP formulation was prepared. Results for particle size, PDI, zeta potential and entrapment efficiency were found to be around 200 nm,0.5, 25 mV, and 70% respectively. For in vitro study, the release of SCU from the NPs exhibited a biphasic release and was in accordance with Higuchi equation. The optimized preparation was simple with the probability for industrialization. The combination use of RSM, BBD and overall desirability values could provide a promising application for incorporating CD into CS nanoparticles as drug delivery carrier and help develop lab-scale procedures.
