Urban remnant natural area (URNA), located in the urban or suburb area, less disturbed by dwellers in the process of urbanization, is an important part of complex urban ecosystem and provides significant opportunity for urban sustainable development. Despite that there is a considerable amount of scientific researches on the urban nature in urban and suburb area, the comprehensive research of URNA is still rare. After analyzing the concept and value of URNA, this paper presented a methodology for comprehensive evaluation of URNA by adopting methods of document analysis, prior-selection process, analytic hierarchy process and vector resemblance-degree. As a result, the comprehensive evaluation index of URNA includes target level A, rule level B(ecological environment value, ecological recreation value, social culture value, scientific research value), index level C( diversity,singularity,nature,area,stability,recreation,landscape element,aesthetics,history,scientific), and index level D(20 items). Each index weight of comprehensive evaluation system of URNA of shanghai was confirmed finally.

Some farmland soils in shanghai had high salinity levels, suggesting secondary salinization of the soils. The soil problems in shanghai were studied, including the salinity and nitrate nitrogen (NO -3 -N) concentrations, heavy metal pollution characteristics, and organochlorine pesticide (OCP) residual levels and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH) contents. Accumulation of NO -3 -N in vegetable soils was the most significant among different functional soils. Heavy metal pollution was significant in the samples collected from the sewage-irrigated land and roadside. The identification of the metal sources through multivariate statistical analysis indicated that Pb, Zn, Cu and Cr in urban soils were from the traffic pollutants; excessive application of fertilizer and irrigation were the main reasons for the metal pollution in agricultural soils; Ni in the observed soils was controlled by parent soils. OCPs could still be detected in farmland soils but degraded greatly in last 20 years after prohibition of their usage. PAHs with 2-3 rings were the main components in industrial soils. The concentrated PAHs in the investigated soils were likely from petroleum and coal combustion.

In order to study the resistance of Neisseria （N.） gonorrhoeae to the fluoroquinolone and detect mutation patterns of quinolone resistance-determining regions （QRDRs） of clinical isolates in shanghai, china, a total of 80 clinical isolates of N. gonorrhoeae were consecutively collected from shanghai. The MIC of fluoroquinolone for the isolates was examined by using the agar dilution method and the mutation profiles of the QRDRs of gyrA and parC were analyzed by sequencing and restriction fragment length polymorphism （RFLP）. Chi-square test was used for comparison of the t：nutation patterns. The results showed that：（1） High percentages of the 8 isolates were resistant to ciprofloxacin （95.0%）, ofloxacin （95.0%） and lomefloxacin （97.5%）, only one strain was susceptible to the ciprofloxacin. （2） Sensitive strains had a substitute of Asp95→Ala in the gyrA, and all isolates that were resistant or intermediated to the ciprofloxacin, had a double mutation in the gyrA （Ser91, Ala 92 and Asp95）. Some strains also had a mutation in the parC. （3） The MICs of these isolates were significantly associated with the mutation patterns in the gyrA and parC. A double mutation of gyrA combined with parC87 mutation was a predominant pattern in shanghai and could mediate high level resistance to ciprofloxacin. It suggests that mutations in the QRDRs of gyrA and parC may be responsible for the fluoroquinolone resistance. And fluoroquinolone could not be used as the first line antibiotics for gonorrhea treatment any more in shanghai, china.

Objective To assess the HIV/STDs knowledge and risk behaviors related factors among female sex workers(FSWs)in shanghai,*** A cross-sectional study was conducted in 5 districts(including 3 suburbs and 2 urban districts).A total of 324 FSWs from 88 massage parlors and hair-beauty salons participated in the *** interviewer-administrated questionnaire was used to collect *** The average score of HIV/STDs knowledge was 15.2±*** analyses indicated that limited education [odds ratio(OR):8.6,95% confidence interval(CI):2.9-25.6],coming from suburbs [odds ratio(OR):3.7,95% confidence interval(CI):2.0-6.8],monthly income less than 1500 RMB(220 US$)[odds ratio(OR):3.9,95% confidence interval(CI):1.9-8.1],without HIV/STDs-related education experience(OR:5.2,95% CI:2.8-9.5),and coming from provinces of low epidemic(OR:2.7,95% CI:1.1-6.6)were significant predictors of lower HIV/STDs *** 29.5% FSWs had sex without a condom when clients paid much more money,and 46.3% had the experience of condom broke or slipped during commercial sexual *** Health promotion should be conducted to enhance HIV/STDs knowledge and reduce risk behaviors among FSWs from suburbs with limited education in shanghai especially.

Objective To evaluate the impact of life skills training that uses participatory teaching method on improving reproductive health cognition of vocational school students of metropolitan, china.Methods Three vocational schools of an urban district in shanghai were selected as the research sites, with two schools as the intervention groups（group A and group B） and the other as the control（group C）. Group A was provided life skills training with core of reproductive health plus peer education, while group B only provided life skills training. All the second grade students were recruited as the subjects. Baseline surveys were conducted in three schools before the implementation of the intervention, and similar surveys were conducted after two terms of the intervention to test the effectiveness of the intervention. In total, 1 612 subjects, including 810 males and 802 females, were recruited. The effects of the intervention on subjects＇ cognitions on sexual behavior and condom/contraceptive use were analyzed using mixed model with repeated measures.Results From pretest to posttest, there were significant increase of the proportions of perceiving risks in getting pregnant, infecting STDs and HIV, benefits by learning and using condom, and self-efficacy in contraceptive use, and decrease of the proportions of perceiving barriers for condom use in two intervention groups; while few similar changes in the control group. In mixed modeling analysis, interaction effects of group A × time and group B × time were found on the scores of perceived risks （P〈0.000 1）, perceived benefits （P〈0.000 1）, perceived barriers （P=0.001 2for group A and P=0.003 4 for group B）,and perceived self-efficacy （P〈0.000 1）. The prevalence of coccidial infection in dairy cattle was examined in suburban districts of shanghai between October 2010 and April 2011.A total of 626 fecal samples from 24 dairy cattle farms were examined and oocysts were identified to species level on the basis of the morphological features of the sporulated *** herds were found to be infected with Eimeria *** overall prevalence of coccidial infection was 47%(295/626),with the highest infection rate of 52%(161/311) in calves12-month-old *** number of oocysts per gram of feces was significantly higher in young calves than in weaners and *** species of Eimeria were identified,among which Eimeria ellipsoidalis,***,*** and *** were the predominant *** infection with two to eight species was *** results of the present investigation have implications for the control of coccidial infections in cattle in shanghai.
