Shop floor control （SFC） is responsible for the coordination and control of the manufacturing physical and information flow within the shop floor in the manufacturing system. Weaknesses of the production activity control （PAC） architecture of the shop floor are addressed by the Maglica＇s new system architecture. This architecture gives rise to unlimited number of movers and producers thus evolving more complex but decentralized architecture. Beijing Institute of Technology - production activity control （BIT-PAC） architecture introduces an idea of sub-producars and sub-movers thus reducing the complexity of the architecture. All the equipments including sub-producars and sub-movers are considered to be passive in the proposed shop floor information system. The dissemination of information from sub-producers and sub-movers is done manually through a PC. Proposed BIT-PAC SFC architecture facilitates the information flow from shop floor to the other area of the organization. Effective use of interact information services （IIS） and SQL2000 is done along with the *** technology to implement the application logic. Applicability of the software based on BIT-PAC architecture is checked by running application software on a network PC that supports the dynamic flow of information from sub-producers and sub-movers to the other parts of the organization. Use of software is also shown at the end for BIT training workshop thus supporting the use of SFC architecture for similar kind of environments.

Aim of this research is to minimize makespan in the flexible job shop environment by the use of genetic algorithms and scheduling rules. Software is developed using genetic algorithms and scheduling rules based on certain constraints such as non-preemption of jobs, recirculation, set up times, non-breakdown of machines etc. Purpose of the software is to develop a schedule for flexible job shop environment, which is a special case of job shop scheduling problem. Scheduling algorithm used in the software is verified and tested by using MT10 as benchmark problem, presented in the flexible job shop environment at the end. LEKIN software results are also compared with results of the developed software by the use of MT10 benchmark problem to show that the latter is a practical software and can be used successfully at BIT Training Workshop.

In order to overcome the weakness of the former production activity control （PAC） architecture, this paper presents an improved PAC architecture. The BIT-PAC architecture has been applied with the use of information technology. It facilitates the information flow from Shop Floor to other areas of the organization and makes the organizations more integrated and productive. This architecture also facilitates the expansion of the Shop Floor functions without disturbing the basic infrastructure. Effectiveness of the BIT-PAC architecture was checked by developing and running application software on a network PC which has supported the dynamic flow of information from Sub-Producers and Sub-Movers to other areas of organization.

Different techniques including Quality Control Circles, Business Process Reengineering and Statistical Process Control （SPC）, Total Quality Management have been in use to reduce waste in the industry. Waste is considered as necessary evil and there are many types of waste in the industry. There are many ways and means to reduce waste but the less costly is to use Quality Control Circles technique effectively and efficiently. In quality control circles human resources that consist of small groups of employees are selected, who voluntarily meet at regular intervals to identify, analyze and solve quality and other problems in their work areas. In the Quality Control Circles different techniques of the quality improvement and total quality management are utilized which could be numeric or nonnumeric such as statistical quality control techniques and fish bone diagram or brain storming respectively. This article discusses that how reduction of waste in Pakistan industry is possible by using Quality Control Circles implementation.

工时定额数据获取的快速基于动态参数的工时定额计算方法。对影响工时定额计算结果的诸多参数进行分析,根据参数的性和准确性影响着制造成本和作业计划。传统计算方法效率低、准确性差,为解决这一问题提出了信息表达方式进行分类,建立动态参数计算模型。利用VRML技术构造可视化加工特征模型,将动态参数映射到加工特征模型上,实现工时定额计算参数的图形化拾取。该技术已应用于企业生产过程中,取得良好的效果。

Radio frequency identification (RFID) is a contactless form of automatic identification and data capture (AIDC) technology. This paper explores the use of RFID in the new field of manufacturing automation and quality control. This paper consists of five parts. The first part gives a brief background and introduction of technology. The proposed use of RFID technology in the field of manufacturing automation and quality control is discussed in second part. The third part covers its use in the field of warehouse management system. Part four is a local review and analysis of RFID technology in manufacturing and warehousing which would support the potential use of this technology locally at China. The last part of paper gives concluding remarks about the RFID technology with recommendations of RFID use in these areas.

This paper presents a further improved Production Activity Control Architecture to deal with the complexity of information by creating Sub-Producers and Sub-Movers which will not only give a better control at workstation level but also reduce load on the Dispatcher. It also makes an analysis of the basic and improved PAC (Production Activity Control) Architecture in the Control System for Integrated Manufacturing. The PAC Architecture and the improvement will further enhance the flexibility and adaptability of the architecture in the ever changing environment of the Shop Floor Control (SFC) Systems.

The controlled and homogeneous flow of dry granular powders through hoppers is essential for applications,namely,packaging of food grains,fertilizers and additive manufacturing processes such as directed energy deposition for better product *** of the major issues encountered in the granular flows through hoppers is flow stagnation due to the well-known arching ***-assisted granular flow through hoppers is one of the mechanisms used for better mass flow *** this work,the influence of external mechanical vibration on the powder flow is investigated experimentally and using discrete element ***,the mass flow rate through the hopper increases with an increase in vibration amplitude and then decreases,signifying the existence of an optimal amplitude of *** DEM simulations explained the underlying mechanisms for the existence of an optimal amplitude of vibration corresponding to the maximum mass flow rate.A range of vibration amplitudes from 0 mm to 3.5 mm is used to study the flow behaviour;the maximum flow of around 33 g/s to 35 g/s is observed for 0.75 mm to 1.25 mm vibration amplitude for the hopper-particle combination studied in this *** work also reports the influence of vibration frequency,hopper,and particle dimension on the flow *** research facilitates the effective use of mechanical vibration to enhance powder flow that can further be extended to non-spherical and multi-material particles.

The thermodynamics of black holes(BHs)has had a profound impact on theoretical physics,providing insight into the nature of gravity,the quantum structure of spacetime and the fundamental laws governing the *** this study,we investigate thermal geometries and Hawking evaporation of the recently proposed topological dyonic dilaton BH in anti-de Sitter(Ad S)*** consider Rényi entropy and obtain the relations for pressure,heat capacity and Gibbs free energy and observe that the Rényi parameter and dilaton field play a vital role in the phase transition and stability of the ***,we use Weinhold,Ruppeiner and Hendi Panahiyah Eslam Momennia models to evaluate the scalar curvature of the BH and find out that the divergence points of the scalar curvature coincides with the zero of specific ***,using Stefan–Boltzmann law,we determine that the BH without a dilaton field evaporates far more quickly compared to the dilaton BH in Ad S space.
