The activity concentration of natural and fallout radionuclides in the soil at som. selected Thanas around the TRIGA m.rk-II Research Reactor at Atom.c Energy Research Establishm.nt (AERE), Savar, Dhaka were m.asured by using a high purity germ.nium.detector (HPGe). The study revealed that only natural radionuclides were present in the sam.les and no trace of any artificial radionuclide was found. The average activity concentration of 238U, 232Th and 40K were found to be 37.8 ± 5.6 ***-1, 58.2 ± 11.0 ***-1 and 790.8 ± 153.4 ***-1 respectively. The radium.equivalent activity (Req), absorbed dose rate (D), external radiation hazard index (Hex) and internal radiation hazard index (Hin) were also calculated to find out the probable radiological hazard of the natural radioactivity.

To im.rove the phosphorus(P)recovery efficiency from.livestock wastewater,a novel m.O doped m.ldewed corn biochar with therm.l pre-puffing treatm.nt(m.-PBC)and without pre-puffing(m.-BC)was synthesized and *** therm.l-puffing pretreatm.nt im.roved the effectiveness of m.tal soaking and m.O dispersion.P recovery tim. with m.-PBC(7 h)was significantly shorter than that with m.-BC(12 h).m.reover,m.-PBC showed significantly higher P recovery capacity(241 m. g^(−1))than m.-BC(96.6 m. g^(−1)).P recovery capacity of the m.-PBC fitted to the Thom.s m.del was 90.7 m. g^(−1),which was 4 tim.s higher than that of m.-BC(22.9 m. g^(−1))under colum. test *** m.chanism. involved in P recovery included precipitation,surface com.lexation,and electrostatic *** adsorption,both m.-BC and m.-PBC showed relatively low regeneration *** P loaded m.-BC(m.-BC-P)and m.-PBC(m.-PBC-P),the later particularly,obviously increased the available P content and prom.ted plant *** release of P increased with tim. in the m.-PBC-P treated soil,while it decreased with tim. in the P fertilizer treated soil.A cost-benefit analysis revealed that therm.l-puffing pretreatm.nt greatly increased the profit of m.O doped biochar from.0.66 to 5.90 US$kg^(−1).These findings highlight that biom.ss pre-puffing is a feasible treatm.nt to produce m.O m.dified biochar and to recover P from.livestock wastewater,and that the m.-PBC-P can be used as a slow-release P fertilizer.

Using atom.stic com.uter sim.lation m.thods we have derived a new set of interatom.c potential param.ters for som. binary oxides, com.rising divalent transition elem.nts (rock-salt structured) and tetravalent m.tals. Com.utational techniques based on the m.nim.zation of the crystal energy with respect to atom.c coordinates have been em.loyed. Crystal properties were calculated and com.ared with the experim.ntal data to check the reliability of our potential m.dels. Intrinsic (Schottky and Frenkel) defect energies were also calculated and com.ared with previous studies. There is a good agreem.nt between these calculations, which shows that the new potential param.ters are reliable and can be used with confidence for future investigations.

An effective and sim.le screening technique for identification of salt tolerant and salt sensitive radish genotypes was observed. Sand is used as potting m.dia. Six genotypes of radish were used for screening against four salinity levels (0, 1, 3, 5 and 7 dS/m.sup>-1). Twenty days old seedlings of radish were salinized with salt solution (NaCl). m.rphological, physiological and ionic param.ters were studied. Radish genotypes Laal-Pari and 40 Days executed the best perform.nce in all the m.asured attributes and categorized as salt tolerant genotype while Green Neck was the poorest in retaining norm.l functioning at higher salinity levels thus grouped under salt sensitive cultivar.

Salicylic acid (SA) is a vital plant growth regulator providing prom.sing role in plant developm.nt and adopts defense m.chanism.to abiotic stresses. Salinity is the m.st lim.ting abiotic factor for plant developm.nt and growth changes in waterm.lon by producing reactive oxygen species and ultim.tely oxidative stress. The present study was aim.d to investigate the m.chanism.involved in salt stress alleviation in waterm.lon (Citrullus lanatus Thanb. m.vs.) through the foliar application of salicylic acid. Waterm.lon cv. Charleston Gray was grown under m.derate saline regim. of 3 ds·m.1 NaCl and sprayed with salicylic acid with four level (0.5, 1.0, 2.5 and 5.0 m.ol/L) com.ared along with control. SA @ 5.0 m.ol/L was found to be very effective in m.tigation of salt stress. SA was found to be very effective in alleviation of salinity stress by produced antioxidants and acted as osm.-regulator.

Crystal m.rphology of m.tal oxides in engineered m.tal-biochar com.osites governs the rem.val of phosphorus(P)from.aqueous *** to our best knowledge,preparation of bio-assem.led m.O-coated biochar and its application for the rem.val of P from.solutions and kitchen waste ferm.ntation liquids have not yet been ***,in this study,a needle-like m.O particle coated tea waste biochar com.osite(m.C)was prepared through a novel biological assem.ly and tem.late elim.nation *** produced m.C was used as an adsorbent for rem.ving P from.a synthetic solution and real kitchen waste ferm.ntation *** m.xim.m.P sorption capacities of the m.C,deduced from.the Langm.ir m.del,were 58.80 m. g^(−1) from.the solution at pH 7 and 192.8 m. g^(−1) from.the ferm.ntation liquid at pH *** increase of ionic strength(0-0.1 m.l L^(−1) NaNO_(3))reduced P rem.val efficiency from.98.53%to 93.01%in the synthetic solution but had no significant im.act on P rem.val from.the ferm.ntation *** of m.HPO4 and m.(H_(2)PO_(4))_(2)(76.5%),ligand exchange(18.0%),and electrostatic attraction(5.5%)were the potential m.chanism. for P sorption from.the synthetic solution,while struvite form.tion(57.6%)and ligand exchange(42.2%)governed the sorption of P from.the kitchen waste ferm.ntation *** to previously reported m.O-biochar com.osites,m.C had a lower P sorption capacity in phosphate solution but a higher P sorption capacity in ferm.ntation ***,the studied m.C could be used as an effective candidate for the rem.val of P from.aqueous environm.nts,and especially from.the ferm.ntation *** the future,it will be necessary to system.tically com.are the perform.nce of m.tal-biochar com.osites with different m.tal oxide crystal m.rphology for P rem.val from.different types of wastewater.

神经源性吞咽障碍是一种常见的神经系统疾病的并发症,预后差且治疗方法有限。因此,将神经刺激的基础研究转化为临床应用成为当务之急。本文重点介绍咽腔电刺激(pharyngeal electrical stim.lation,PES)技术在人类吞咽运动系统中的治疗应用,阐明咽腔电刺激调控吞咽功能的机制,通过大量研究结果证明该刺激能够增加咽部运动皮质的兴奋性,该技术在神经源性吞咽障碍已经完成和正在进行的临床研究也可窥见一斑。尽管目前的研究结果提示咽腔电刺激技术是一种具有广阔临床应用前景的神经调控干预手段,但仍需要进行更多的临床研究,以便充分地探索其潜在用途。

为探讨添加新型陶瓷对改善椎弓根螺钉稳定性的影响 ,将椎弓根螺钉分别植入 2 8个 L3～ L5椎体两侧椎弓根 ,随机在一侧加 α- BSm.m.16个椎体做螺钉轴向拔出试验 ,测试最大轴向拔出力 (Fm.x)和拔出过程中的能量吸收值E- Fm.x和 E- 2 m.。另外 12个椎体做梯增负荷的螺钉周期抗屈试验。两组相比较发现 ,加入 α- BSm.m. ,Fm.x增加了6 6 .8% ,E- Fm.x和 E- 2 m.分别增加了 16 9.5 %和 6 0 .6 % ,差别有统计学意义 (Wilcoxon's检验 ,Pm.m.使螺钉耐受更大的负荷或在同等负荷下仅产生较小的位移。结果表明 :在椎弓根螺钉植入时添加α-

In wetland ecosystem. nitrogen along with other elem.nts and its m.nagem.nt is m.st im.erative for the production of so m.ny aquatic food, non-food and beneficial m.dicinal plants and for the im.rovem.nt of soil and water characteristics. With great significant im.ortance of INm.(integrated nutrient m.nagem.nt) as sources, em.hasizing on m.nagem.nt on nitrogen as a key elem.nt and its divergence, a case study was undertaken on such aquatic food crops (starch and protein-rich, m.st popular and rem.nerative) in the farm.rs' field of low-lying 'Tal' situation of New Alluvial Zone of Indian subtropics. The study was designed in factorial random.zed block design, where, three im.ortant aquatic food crops (water chestnut (Trapa bispinosa Roxb.), m.khana (Euryale ferox Salisb.) and water lily (Nym.haea spp.) as m.jor factor and eleven com.inations of organic and inorganic sources of nutrients as sub-factor was considered in the experim.nt. It revealed from.the results that the production of fresh kernels or nuts of water chestnut (8.571 ha-1), m.tured nut yield of m.khana (3.06 t ha-1) and flower stalks of water-lily as vegetables (6.38 t ha-1) including its nutritional quality (starch, protein, sugar and m.nerals) was rem.rkably influenced with the application of both organic (neem.oilcake @ 0.2 t ha-1) and inorganic sources (NPK @ 30:20:20 kg ha-1 along with spraying of NPK @ 0.5% each over crop canopy at 20 days interval after transplanting) than the other INm.com.inations applied to the crops. Am.ng the crops, highest WCYE (water chestnut yield equivalence) exhibited in m.khana due to its high price of popped-form.in the country, which is being exported to other countries at now. Sole application of both (organic and inorganic sources) with lower range did not produce any significant outcom. from.the study and exhibited lower value for all the crops.
