Adsorption of methane onto mudstones under supercritical conditions: Mechanisms, physical properties and thermodynamic parameters

Since the mechanisms of methane-mudstone interactions are important for estimating shale gas reserves,methane adsorption under supercritical conditions of 30 MPa pressure and 303.15,333.15,363.15 K temperatures was studied to measure the excess methane adsorption in two mudstone samples from Yanchang Formation,Ordos *** adsorption features inflection points where the amount of adsorbed gas changes from increasing to decreasing *** methods(fixed,slope,and freely fitted density)were applied to calculate the adsorbed-phase density(rad),which was then used to fit the measured excess *** criteria,the goodness-of-fit and whether the fitting can obtain reasonable absolute adsorption,were applied to determine the most accurate *** indicated that the supercritical Dubinin-Radushkevich(SDR)model with freely fitted rad was the most reasonable *** volume of adsorbed methane at 363.15 K is close to the micropore(d<2 nm)volume of the corresponding *** the actual geological conditions,the adsorbed gas should be predominantly stored in *** parameters reveal that the methane adsorption on mudstone is a physisorption process that is jointly controlled by the heterogeneity of,and interaction forces between the methane molecule and,the rock surface.

Coal matrix deformation characteristics in the process of carbon dioxide displacing different gas saturation coal-bed methane

It is fundamental that changes in coal reservoir permeability are researched, in particular, the accurate determination of variations in the coal matrix caused by CO2 replacing CH4 at different gas saturation conditions. Based on the surface free energy, the extended Langmuir isothermal adsorption model, combined with CO2 replacing CH4 in experimental trials, and calling on the more general principles and characteristics of the field, mathematical models describing the coal matrix as it undergoes different processes such as CO2 injection and desorption were established. Combined with laboratory data about CO2 replacement under different methane saturation conditions, a law governing the variations in coal matrix CO2 replacement under different methane gas saturation conditions was obtained. The results showed that： in the injection process, the coal matrix expansion rate caused by CO2 or CH4 was exponentially increased with the CO2 pressure increase, the expansion caused by CO2 was far greater than the expansion caused by CH4 in the desorption process, the coal matrix shrinkage caused by CO2 or CH4 was exponentially increased with the pressure decrease, the shrinkage caused by CO2 was larger than the shrinkage caused by CH4 under the same pressure and different gas saturation, the total shrinkage in the desorption process in the coal matrix was greater than the total expansion in the injection process. At higher gas saturations, the total coal matrix shrinkage volume exceeded the total expansion corresponding to pressure points higher in the desorption process.

PbGIF1 promoting cell-proliferation in pear fruit is transcriptionally activated by Pb RR1

Synergetic pathways of water-energy-carbon in ecologically vulnerable regions aiming for carbon neutrality:a case study of shaanxi,China

Synergetic energy-water-carbon pathways are key issues to be tackled under carbon-neutral target and high-quality development worldwide,especially in ecologically vulnerable regions(EVRs).In this study,to explore the synergistic pathways in an EVR,a water-energy-carbon assessment(WECA)model was built,and the synergistic effects of water-energy-carbon were comprehensively and quantitatively analyzed under various scenarios of regional *** Province was chosen as the representative EVR,and Lower challenge(LEC)and Greater challenge(GER)scenarios of zerocarbon transition were set considering the technological maturity and regional energy *** results showed that there were limited effects under the zero-carbon transition of the entire region on reducing water withdrawals and improving the water *** the LEC scenario,the energy demand and CO2 emissions of shaanxi in 2060 will decrease by 70.9%and 99.4%,respectively,whereas the water withdrawal and freshwater aquatic ecotoxicity potential(FAETP)will only decrease by 8.9%and 1.6%,*** could be attributed to the stronger demand for electricity in the energy demand sector caused by industrial transition *** GER scenario showed significant growth in water withdrawals(16.0%)and FAETP(36.0%)because of additional biomass *** promote the synergetic development of regional transition,EVRs should urgently promote zero-carbon technologies(especially solar and wind power technologies)between 2020 and 2060 and dry cooling technology for power generation before *** particular,a cautious attitude toward the biomass energy with carbon capture and storage technology in EVRs is strongly recommended.

Detection and analysis of landslide geomorphology based on UAV vertical photogrammetry

High-resolution landslide images are required for detailed geomorphological analysis in complex topographic environment with steep and vertical landslide *** study proposed a vertical route planning method for unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs),which could achieve rapid image collection based on strictly calculated route *** effectiveness of this method was verified using a DJI Mavic 2 Pro,obtaining high-resolution landslide images within the Dongchuan debris flow gully,in the Xiaojiang River Basin,Dongchuan District,Yunnan,China.A three-dimensional(3D)model was constructed by the structure-from-motion and multi-view stereo(SfM-MVS).Micro-geomorphic features were analyzed through visual interpretation,geographic information system(GIS),spatial analysis,and mathematical statistics *** results demonstrated that the proposed method could obtain comprehensive vertical information on landslides while improving measurement *** 3D model was constructed using the vertically oriented flight route to achieve centimeter-level accuracy(horizontal accuracy better than 6 cm,elevation accuracy better than 3 cm,and relative accuracy better than 3.5 cm).The UAV technology could further help understand the micro internal spatial and structural characteristics of landslides,facilitating intuitive acquisition of surface *** slope of landslide clusters ranged from 36°to 72°,with the majority of the slope facing east and *** elevation levels were relatively consistent while middle to lower elevation levels gradually decreased from left to right with significant variations in lower elevation *** the rainy season,surface runoff was abundant,and steep topography exacerbated changes in surface *** route method is suitable for unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV)landslide surveys in complex mountainous *** geomorphological analysis methods used will provide references for identifying and describing topographic

Jamming Assisted Covert Wireless Communication in Multi-Channel Systems

This paper investigates the jammerassisted multi-channel covert wireless communication(CWC)by exploiting the randomness of sub-channel selection to confuse the *** particular,we propose two sub-channel selection transmission schemes,named random sub-channel selection(RSS)scheme and maximum sub-channel selection(MSS)scheme,to enhance communication *** each proposed scheme,we first derive closed-form expressions of the transmission outage probability(TOP),the average effective rate,and the minimum average detection error probability(DEP).Then,the average effective covert rate(ECR)is maximized by jointly optimizing the transmit power at the transmitter and the number of *** results show that there is an optimal value of the number of sub-channels that maximizes the average *** also find that to achieve the maximum average ECR,a larger number of subchannels are needed facing a stricter covertness constraint.

Perspective of Calcium Imaging Technology Applied to Acupuncture Research

Acupuncture, a therapeutic treatment defined as the insertion of needles into the body at specific points(ie, acupoints), has growing in popularity world-wide to treat various diseases effectively, especially acute and chronic pain. In parallel, interest in the physiological mechanisms underlying acupuncture analgesia, particularly the neural mechanisms have been increasing. Over the past decades, our understanding of how the central nervous system and peripheral nervous system process signals induced by acupuncture has developed rapidly by using electrophysiological methods. However, with the development of neuroscience, electrophysiology is being challenged by calcium imaging in view field, neuron population and visualization in vivo. Owing to the outstanding spatial resolution, the novel imaging approaches provide opportunities to enrich our knowledge about the neurophysiological mechanisms of acupuncture analgesia at subcellular, cellular, and circuit levels in combination with new labeling, genetic and circuit tracing techniques. Therefore, this review will introduce the principle and the method of calcium imaging applied to acupuncture research. We will also review the current findings in pain research using calcium imaging from in vitro to in vivo experiments and discuss the potential methodological considerations in studying acupuncture analgesia.
