Two-dimensional MOF-based materials:Preparations and applications as electrodes in Li-ion batteries

Two-dimensional(2D) metal-organic frameworks(MOFs) are rapidly emerging as a unique class of mushrooming family of 2D materials offering distinctive features,such as hierarchical porosity,extensive surface area,easily available active sites,and versatile,adaptable *** promising characteristics have positioned them as highly appealing alternatives for a wide range of applications in energy storage technologies,including lithium ***,the poor conductivity and limited stability of 2D MOFs have limited their real applications in electrochemical energy *** limitations have therefore warranted ongoing research to enhance the performance of 2D *** the significance of 2D MOF-based materials as an emerging class of advanced materials,a multitude of strategy has been devised to address these challenges such as synthesizing 2D conductive MOFs and derivatives along with 2D MOF *** promising approach involves the use of 2D MOF derivatives,including transition metal oxides,which due to their abundant unsatu rated active metal sites and shorter diffusion paths,offer superior electrochemical ***,by combining pristine 2D MOFs with other materials,hybrid 2D MOF materials can be *** hybrids,with their enhanced stability and conductivity,can be directly utilized as active materials in lithium *** the present review,we categorize 2D MOF-based materials into three distinct groups:pristine 2D MOFs,2D MOFderived materials,and 2D MOF hybrid *** synthesis methods for each group,along with their specific applications as electrode materials in lithium-ion batteries,are discussed in *** comprehensive review provides insights into the potential of 2D MOFs while highlighting the opportunities and challenges that are present in this evolving field.

Data-driven Distributionally Adjustable Robust Chance-constrained DG Capacity Assessment

Moving away from fossil fuels towards renewable sources requires system operators to determine the capacity of distribution systems to safely accommodate green and distributed generation(DG).However,the DG capacity of a distribution system is often underestimated due to either overly conservative electrical demand and DG output uncertainty modelling or neglecting the recourse capability of the available *** improve the accuracy of DG capacity assessment,this paper proposes a distributionally adjustable robust chance-constrained approach that utilises uncertainty information to reduce the conservativeness of conventional robust *** proposed approach also enables fast-acting devices such as inverters to adjust to the real-time realisation of uncertainty using the adjustable robust counterpart *** achieve a tractable formulation,we first define uncertain chance constraints through distributionally robust conditional value-at-risk(CVaR),which is then reformulated into convex quadratic *** subsequently solve the resulting large-scale,yet convex,model in a distributed fashion using the alternating direction method of multipliers(ADMM).Through numerical simulations,we demonstrate that the proposed approach outperforms the adjustable robust and conventional distributionally robust approaches by up to 15%and 40%,respectively,in terms of total installed DG capacity.

Effect of metal oxide arrester on the chaotic oscillations in the voltage transformer with nonlinear core loss model using chaos theory

In this paper, controlling chaos when chaotic ferroresonant oscillations occur in a voltage transformer with nonlin- ear core loss model is performed. The effect of a parallel metal oxide surge arrester on the ferroresonance oscillations of voltage transformers is studied. The metal oxide arrester （MOA） is found to be effective in reducing ferroresonance chaotic oscillations. Also the multiple scales method is used to analyze the chaotic behavior and different types of fixed points in ferroresonance of voltage transformers considering core loss. This phenomenon has nonlinear chaotic dynamics and includes sub-harmonic, quasi-periodic, and also chaotic oscillations. In this paper, the chaotic behavior and various ferroresonant oscillation modes of the voltage transformer is studied. This phenomenon consists of different types of bifur- cations such as period doubling bifurcation （PDB）, saddle node bifurcation （SNB）, Hopf bifurcation （HB）, and chaos. The dynamic analysis of ferroresonant circuit is based on bifurcation theory. The bifurcation and phase plane diagrams are il- lustrated using a continuous method and linear and nonlinear models of core loss. To analyze ferroresonance phenomenon, the Lyapunov exponents are calculated via the multiple scales method to obtain Feigenbaum numbers. The bifurcation diagrams illustrate the variation of the control parameter. Therefore, the chaos is created and increased in the system.

Modeling of fluid-induced vibrations and identification of hydrodynamic forces on flow control valves

Dynamics and vibration of control valves under flow-induced vibration are analyzed. Hydrodynamic load characteristics and structural response under flow-induced vibration are mainly influenced by inertia, damping, elastic, geometric characteristics and hydraulic parameters. The purpose of this work is to investigate the dynamic behavior of control valves in the response to self-excited fluid flow. An analytical and numerical method is developed to simulate the dynamic and vibrational behavior of sliding dam valves, in response to flow excitation. In order to demonstrate the effectiveness of proposed model, the simulation results are validated with experimental ones. Finally, to achieve the optimal valve geometry, numerical results for various shapes of valves are compared. Rounded valve with the least amount of flow turbulence obtains lower fluctuations and vibration amplitude compared with the flat and steep valves. Simulation results demonstrate that with the optimal design requirements of valves, vibration amplitude can be reduced by an average to 30%.

TSC2 Deletions and Duplications: A Descriptive Study in Iranian Patients Affected with Tuberous Sclerosis

Tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC) is an autosomal dominant disorder characterized by formation of benign tumors called hamartomas. Although the TSC is diagnosed based on clinical findings but approximately 85% of individuals who meet diagnostic criteria for TSC a mutation can be identified in TSC2 (69%) and TSC1 (31%). A review of mutation type in TSC1 & TSC2 genes reveals that deletion/duplication assay could be a good screening strategy as a first step in TSC molecular diagnosis. All 41 exons and 5’ untranslated region of TSC2 gene in addition to adjacent PKD1 gene were screened for deletion/duplication in 81 patients DNA samples using multiplex ligation dependent probe amplification (MLPA) method. Deletion/duplication was found in 29 (35.8%) patients, including deletions in 26 (32.0%) patients and duplication in 3 (3.8%). Genotype/phenotype analysis, showed five patients with renal function impairment who have large deletions including PKD gene area. Approximately 65% of cases were sporadic, while the remaining have familial positive history. Deletions/duplications of TSC2 gene were seen in 35.8% of patients with TSC. So it could be concluded that MLPA is a useful testing strategy for molecular screening in sporadic forms of TSC patients. MLPA increased the detection of TSC mutations. MLPA is less expensive, quicker and more precise than direct sequencing and southern blot in the characterization of TSC deletions. This technique is recommended as a standard part of TSC clinical molecular diagnosis.
