The present study deals with analytical investigation of temperature of a single burning iron *** mathematical methods including AGM(Akbari-Ganji’s method),CM(Collocation method)and GM(Galerkin Method)are applied to solving non-linear differential governing equation and effectiveness of these methods is examined as *** further investigation,forth order Runge-Kutta approach,a numerical method,is used to validate the obtained analytical *** the present study,the developed mathematical model takes into account the effects of thermal radiation,convective heat transfer and particle density variations during combustion *** to particles’small size and high thermal conductivity,the system is assumed to be lumped in which the particle temperature does not change within the body and all of its regions are at the same *** temperature distributions obtained by analytical methods have satisfactory agreement with numerical ***,the results indicate that AGM is a more appropriate method than GM and CM due to its lower mean relative error and less run time.

In this paper,a novel cooling control strategy as part of the smart energy system that can balance thermal comfort against building energy consumption by using the sensing and machine programming technology was *** this goal,a general form of a building was coupled by the smart cooling system(SCS)and the consumption of energy with thermal comfort cooling of persons simulated by using the EnergyPlus software and compared with similar buildings without *** the beginning of the research,using the data from a survey in a randomly selected group of hundreds and by analyzing and verifying the results of the specific relationship between the different groups of people in the statistical society,the body mass index(BMI)and their thermal comfort temperature were obtained,and the sample building was modeled using the EnergyPlus *** result show that if an intelligent ventilation system that can calculate the thermal comfort temperature was used in accordance with the BMI of persons,it can save up to 35%of the cooling load of the building yearly.

Thorium as a suitable fertile with higher natural resources in comparison with uranium resources has been remarkably considered by different nuclear energy user countries in the last decades. Its prominent features such as suitable possibility for power flattening of a nuclear reactor, applicable breeder blanket to produce^(233)U fissile as well as neutron leakage prevention from a nuclear core has caused its application as power flatter, breeder material or other aimed utilizations be evaluated by the researches. In the present study, neutronics of a modeled CANDU 6loaded with Th O_2 and UO_2fuel rods have been computationally studied. The study aimed at reprocessing of burned Th O_2 seeds at CANDU 6 reactor to recover the total produced uranium, which is to be going under another compound fuel cycle. The obtained results showed all the core reactivity coefficients are sufficiently negative. The modeled core 949 GWd burn-up concluding in 99.99 %depletion of^(235)U initial loads. 18.38 kg of^(233) U was produced in the burnt Th O_2 fuel after 1-year burn-up time. In addition, 31.84 kg of^(239) Pu was produced in the UO_2 spent fuel rods after the burn-up time. After a proposed cooling time, about 50.01 kg of^(233)U will be available in the spent Th O_2 fuel.

One important step in binary modeling of environmental problems is the generation of absence-datasets that are traditionally generated by random sampling and can undermine the quality of *** solve this problem,this study develops the Absence Point Generation(APG)toolbox which is a Python-based ArcGIS toolbox for automated construction of absence-datasets for geospatial *** APG employs a frequency ratio analysis of four commonly used and important driving factors such as altitude,slope degree,topographic wetness index,and distance from rivers,and considers the presence locations buffer and density layers to define the low potential or susceptibility zones where absence-datasets are *** test the APG toolbox,we applied two benchmark algorithms of random forest(RF)and boosted regression trees(BRT)in a case study to investigate groundwater potential using three absence datasets i.e.,the APG,random,and selection of absence samples(SAS)*** BRT-APG and RF-APG had the area under receiver operating curve(AUC)values of 0.947 and 0.942,while BRT and RF had weaker performances with the SAS and Random *** effect resulted in AUC improvements for BRT and RF by 7.2,and 9.7%from the Random dataset,and AUC improvements for BRT and RF by 6.1,and 5.4%from the SAS dataset,*** APG also impacted the importance of the input factors and the pattern of the groundwater potential maps,which proves the importance of absence points in environmental binary *** proposed APG toolbox could be easily applied in other environmental hazards such as landslides,floods,and gully erosion,and land subsidence.

In this study,we initially performed interfacial tension(IFT)tests to investigate the potential of using the Persian Gulf seawater(PGSW)as smart water with diferent concentrations of NaCl,KCl,MgCl_(2),CaCl_(2),and Na_(2)SO_(4).Next,for each salt,at the concentration where IFT was minimum,we conducted contact angle,zeta potential,and micromodel fooding *** results showed that IFT is minimized if NaCl or KCl is removed from PGSW;thus,for solutions lacking NaCl and KCl,the IFT values were obtained at 26.29 and 26.56 mN/m,***,in the case of divalent ions,minimum IFT occurred when the concentration of MgCl_(2),CaCl_(2),and Na_(2)SO_(4) in PGSW ***,a threefold rise in the concentration of Na_(2)SO_(4) further reduced IFT as compared to optimal concentrations of MgCl_(2) or CaCl_(2).It should be mentioned that eliminating NaCl from PGSW resulted in the lowest IFT value compared to adding or removing other *** the removal of NaCl caused the contact angle to decrease from 91.0°to 67.8°relative to PGSW and changed surface wettability to weakly water-wet,eliminating KCl did not considerably change the contact angle,such that it only led to a nine-degree reduction in this angle relative to PGSW and left wettability in the same neutral-wet *** optimal concentrations of MgCl_(2),CaCl_(2),and Na_(2)SO_(4),only an increase in Na_(2)SO_(4) concentration in PGSW could change wettability from neutral-wet to weakly *** solutions with optimal concentrations,the removal of NaCl or KCl caused the rock surface to have slightly higher negative charges,and increasing the concentration of divalent ions led to a small reduction in the negative charge of the *** results of micromodel fooding indicated that NaCl-free PGSW could raise oil recovery by 10.12%relative to ***,when the Na_(2)SO_(4) concentration in PGSW was tripled,the oil recovery increased by 7.34%compared to ***,depending on th

Colloidal gas aphron(CGA)based fluid has become very popular in drilling in the last two decades,as it reduces formation damages *** this study,sugarcane molasses(Mls)was used for the first time as a polymer in CGA-based to investigate its ability to improve the role of aphronized fluid as a drilling *** results showed that increasing the concentration of Mls to 12%(v/v)in CGA-based fluid reduces the drainage rate and increases half-life to 10.6 min,resulting in enhanced stability of the aphronized ***,because of increasing Mls concentration from 1%to 12%(v/v),the yield and the initial gas hold-up decrease to 74%and 299.4 mL,respectively,indicating that the presence of Mls allows less air into the aphron *** the rheological properties were improved in this study,the gel strength did not change ***,the results showed that by increasing the concentration of Mls,the average size of the bubbles decreases,and the particle-size distribution becomes more ***,the API filtration test revealed that the higher the Mls concentration in the aphronized fluid,the lower the fluid loss,and at the Mls concentration of 12%(v/v),the fluid loss was estimated at 19.54 mL.A natural polysaccharide with high molecular weight,Mls can be used as a polymer in CGAbased fluid and,thus,improve its performance.

This research investigates the behavior of a 2×2 pile group under two-directional lateral loads in addition to the vertical *** three-dimensional numerical modeling based on Flac 3D software,the study examines the total bearing capacity and efficiency coefficient of the pile group,considering factors such as the angle of lateral load,relative pile spacing,and relative stiffness of the pile-soil *** findings highlight the significance of these factors in understanding and predicting the response of pile groups to changing lateral load *** results reveal that increasing the angle of the lateral load from 0°to 45°enhances both the maximum total lateral load and the efficiency coefficient of the pile *** the relative stiffness of the pile-soil system significantly increases,soil stiffening occurs and reducing the relative spacing of the piles from 7 to 3 times the diameter of the piles diminishes the influence of the pile ***,the response of the pile group to lateral loads becomes more linear,with only a slight alteration in the maximum total lateral load and the efficiency coefficient when the lateral load is angled from 0°to 45°.Conversely,increasing the relative distance between the piles,specifically from 3 to 7 times the diameter of the piles,amplifies the influence of the pile *** the maximum total lateral load and the efficiency coefficient of the pile group exhibit an observed *** provide insights for designing pile groups and optimizing their performance under lateral loading conditions.

Power swing is an undesirable variation in power flow. This can be caused by large disturbances in demand load, switching, disconnection or reclosing lines. This phenomenon may enter the zones of distance relays and cause relay malfunction leading to the disconnection of healthy lines and undermining network reliability. Accordingly, this paper presents a new power swing detection method based on the prediction of current signal with a GMDH (Group Method of Data Handling) artificial neural network. The main advantage of the proposed method over its counterparts is the immunity to noise effect in signals. In addition, the proposed method can detect stable, unstable, and multi-mode power swings and is capable of distinguishing them from the variety of permanent faults occurring simultaneously. The method is tested for different types of power swings and simultaneous faults using DIgSILENT and MATLAB, and compared with some latest power swing detection methods. The results demonstrate the superiority of the proposed method in terms of response time, the ability to detect power swings of different varieties, and the ability to detect different faults that may occur simultaneously with power swings.

A new extension of the conventional adaptive fuzzy sliding mode control（AFSMC） scheme, for the case of under-actuated and uncertain affine multiple-input multiple-output（MIMO） systems, is presented. In particular, the assumption for non-zero diagonal entries of the input gain matrix of the plant is relaxed. In other words, the control effect of one actuator can propagate from a subgroup of canonical state equations to the rest of equations in an indirect sense. The asymptotic stability of the proposed AFSM control method is proved using a Lyapunov-based methodology. The effectiveness of the proposed method for the case of under-actuated systems is investigated in the presence of plant uncertainties and disturbances, through simulation studies.
