BACKGROUND The Limb Lengthening and Reconstruction Society(LLRS)is a premier orthopedic specialty organization that promotes limb reconstruction for all *** membership characteristics,however,are poorly *** study delineates orthopedic surgeon LLRS members’demographic traits,academic achievement,leadership attainment,and geographical distribution across the United *** To inform aspiring orthopedic professionals,as well as to promote growth and diversity in both the LLRS organization and overarching *** This cross-sectional study examined United States LLRS members’academic,leadership,demographic,and geographical *** reviewing the 2023 LLRS member directory,Google search results were matched to the listings and appended to the compiled *** and ethnicity were evaluated visually utilizing retrieved *** Hirsch index(H-index)of academic activity,residency and fellowship training,other graduate degrees,leadership positions,practice type(academic or non-academic),and spoken languages were *** members per state and capita determined geographic *** Mann Whitney U test was applied to compare H-index between males and females,as well as to assess member differences pertaining to affiliation with academic vs non-academic practice *** The study included 101 orthopedic surgeons,78(77.23%)Caucasian and 23(22.77%)non-Caucasian,79(78.22%)male and 22(21.78%)*** with DO degrees comprised only 3.96%(4)of the cohort,while the vast majority held MDs[96.04%(97)].Mean H-index was 10.55,with male surgeons having a significantly higher score(P=0.002).Most orthopedic surgeons(88.12%,)practiced in academic *** those professionals who occupied leadership positions,14%were women,while 86%were ***,19(37.25%)United States regions and the District of Columbia lacked an LLRS-member orthopedic *** per capita rate across the United States was 0.30 LLRS orthopedic

In this study,we successfully synthesized Er_(2)TiO_(5)@Ag nanocomposites(NCPs) using the ultrasonicmediated sol-gel technique to create a multifunctional material with enhanced photocatalytic and antibacterial *** visible light photocatalytic activities of Er_(2)TiO_(5) nanoparticles(NPs) and Er_(2)TiO_(5)@Ag NCPs were systematically evaluated under various conditions,including different concentrations of Basic Blue 41(BB 41) dye and *** results reveal a remarkable improvement in the photocatalytic degradation efficiency of Er_(2)TiO_(5)@Ag NCPs(95%) compared to Er_(2)TiO_(5) NPs(80%).Furthermore,the antibacterial efficacy of Er_(2)TiO_(5) NPs and Er2TiO_5@Ag NCPs were extensively examined against Gram-positive and Gram-negative ***,Er_(2)TiO_(5)@Ag NCPs exhibit significantly higher minimum bactericidal concentration(MBC) values compared to Er_(2)TiO_(5) *** antibacterial effect of Er_(2)TiO_(5)@Ag NCPs is particularly pronounced against *** and Pseudomonas aeruginosa,while demonstrating moderate effects on Escherichia coli and Enterococcus *** assess the biocompatibility of the synthesized materials,we investigated their internalization by MCF-7 ***,both Er_(2)TiO_(5) NPs and Er_(2)TiO_(5)@Ag NCPs are found to be effectively internalized by the cells,suggesting their potential application in biomedical ***,our study unveils the exceptional potential of Er_(2)TiO_(5)@Ag NCPs as a dual-action solution,simultaneously possessing enhanced photocatalytic efficiency and potent antibacterial *** multifunctional nanocomposite not only outperforms Er_(2)TiO_(5) and Ag but also paves the way for innovative applications in sustainable environmental remediation and advanced biomedical technologies,promising a brighter and cleaner future.

Metal-organic frameworks(MOFs)have been extensively considered as one of the most promising types of porous and crystalline organic-inorganic materials,thanks to their large specific surface area,high porosity,tailorable structures and compositions,diverse functionalities,and well-controlled pore/size ***,most developed MOFs are in powder forms,which still have some technical challenges,including abrasion,dustiness,low packing densities,clogging,mass/heat transfer limitation,environmental pollution,and mechanical instability during the packing process,that restrict their applicability in industrial ***,in recent years,attention has focused on techniques to convert MOF powders into macroscopic materials like beads,membranes,monoliths,gel/sponges,and nanofibers to overcome these ***-dimensional(3D)printing technology has achieved much interest because it can produce many high-resolution macroscopic frameworks with complex shapes and geometries from digital ***,this review summarizes the combination of different 3D printing strategies with MOFs and MOF-based materials for fabricating 3D-printed MOF monoliths and their environmental applications,emphasizing water treatment and gas adsorption/separation ***,the various strategies for the fabrication of 3D-printed MOF monoliths,such as direct ink writing,seed-assisted in-situ growth,coordination replication from solid precursors,matrix incorporation,selective laser sintering,and digital light processing,are described with the relevant ***,future directions and challenges of 3D-printed MOF monoliths are also presented to better plan future trajectories in the shaping of MOF materials with improved control over the structure,composition,and textural properties of 3D-printed MOF monoliths.

AIM:To review recent innovations,challenges,and applications of small incision lenticule extraction(SMILE)extracted lenticule for treating ocular ***:A literature review was performed in the PubMed database,which was last updated on 30 December *** was no limit regarding *** authors evaluated the reference lists of the collected papers to find any relevant ***:Due to the simplicity and accuracy of modern femtosecond lasers and the extensive development of SMILE surgery,many healthy human corneal stromal lenticules were extracted during surgery,motivating some professionals to investigate the SMILE lenticule reusability in different ocular *** addition,new approaches had been developed to preserve,modify,and bioengineer the corneal stroma,leading to the optimal use of discarded byproducts such as lenticules from SMILE *** lenticules can be effectively re-implanted into the autologous or allogenic corneas of human subjects to treat refractive errors,corneal ectasia,and corneal perforation and serve as a patch graft for glaucoma drainage devices with better cosmetic ***:SMILE-extracted lenticules could be a viable alternative to human donor corneal tissue.

Assessment of rehabilitation strategies for lakes affected by anthropogenic and climatic changes: A case study of the Urmia Lake, Iran

Enhanced microstructural and mechanical properties of Stellite/WC nanocomposite on Inconel 718 deposited through vibration-assisted laser cladding

This paper investigated the uniaxial mechanical properties of a new type of hollow sphere structures. For this new type, the sphere shell was perforated by several holes in order to open the inner sphere volume and surface. The mechanical properties, i.e. elastic properties and initial yield stress of perforated hollow sphere structures （PHSS） in a primitive cubic arrangement were numerically evaluated for different hole diameters and different joining techniques of the hollow spheres. The results are compared to classical configurations without perforation.
