General conditions are given in order to perform a perfect teleportation process in the case where theHilbert spaces involved have different dimensions. An explicit expression is obtained for the quantum channel associatedwith the standard teleportation protocol To with an arbitrary mixed state resource. The transmission fidelity of thecorresponding quantum channel is given.

In recent years,mesenchymal stem cells(MSC)have been considered the most effective source for regenerative medicine,especially due to released soluble paracrine bioactive components and extracellular *** factors,collectively called the secretome,play crucial roles in immunomodulation and in improving survival and regeneration capabilities of injured ***,there has been a growing interest in the secretome released by retinal cytotypes,especially retinal pigment epithelium and Müller glia *** latter trophic factors represent the key to preserving morphofunctional integrity of the retina,regulating biological pathways involved in survival,function and responding to ***,these factors can play a pivotal role in onset and progression of retinal diseases after damage of cell secretory *** this review,we delineated the importance of cross-talk between MSCs and retinal cells,focusing on common/induced secreted factors,during experimental therapy for retinal *** cross-link between the MSC and retinal cell secretomes suggests that the MSC secretome can modulate the retinal cell secretome and vice *** example,the MSC secretome can protect retinal cells from degeneration by reducing oxidative stress,autophagy and programmed cell ***,the retinal cell secretome can influence the MSC secretome by inducing changes in MSC gene expression and phenotype.

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a fatal motor neuron disease typically leading to death within 5 years from symptom onset. ALS familial forms are associated with mutations in several genes, including Superoxide dismutase 1 (SOd1) and Fused in Sarcoma (FUS). Although genes linked to ALS participate in disparate biological processes, ALS genetic variants largely trigger shared pathogenic events such as oxidative stress, protein aggregation and defects in RNA processing. Moreover, ALS patients show systemic hypermetabolism that leads to increased energy expenditure at rest and thus weight loss during the disease course.1 ALS hypermetabolic phenotype and weight loss have been extensively characterized in mice bearing the G93A substitution in SOd1 protein (SOd1-G93A), which exhibit skeletal-muscle metabolic reprogramming before disease onset.

Robotic surgery for rectal cancer: Current immediate clinical and oncological outcomes

Laparoscopic rectal surgery continues to be a challenging operation associated to a steep learning curve. Robotic surgical systems have dramatically changed minimally invasive surgery. Three-dimensional, magnified and stable view, articulated instruments, and reduction of physiologic tremors leading to superior dexterity and ergonomics. Therefore, robotic platforms could potentially address limitations of laparoscopic rectal surgery. It was aimed at reviewing current literature on short-term clinical and oncological(pathological) outcomes after robotic rectal cancer surgery in comparison with laparoscopic surgery. A systematic review was performed for the period 2002 to 2014. A total of 1776 patients with rectal cancer underwent minimally invasive robotic treatment in 32 studies. After robotic and laparoscopic approach to oncologic rectal surgery, respectively, mean operating time varied from 192-385 min, and from 158-297 min; mean estimated blood loss was between 33 and 283 mL, and between 127 and 300 mL; mean length of stay varied from 4-10 d; and from 6-15 d. Conversion after robotic rectal surgery varied from 0% to 9.4%, and from 0 to 22% after laparoscopy. There was no difference between robotic(0%-41.3%) and laparoscopic(5.5%-29.3%) surgery regarding morbidity and anastomotic complications(respectively, 0%-13.5%, and 0%-11.1%). Regarding immediate oncologic outcomes, respectively among robotic and laparoscopic cases, positive circumferential margins varied from 0% to 7.5%, and from 0% to 8.8%; the mean number of retrieved lymph nodes was between 10 and 20, and between 11 and 21; and the mean distal resection margin was from 0.8 to 4.7 cm, and from 1.9 to 4.5 cm. Robotic rectal cancer surgery is being undertaken by experienced surgeons. However, the quality of the assembled evidence does not support definite conclusions about most studies variables. In an abstract set up, we get strong type inequalities in L^p＋1 by assuming weak or extra-weak inequalities in Orlicz spaces. For some classes of functions, the number p is related to Simonenko indices. We apply the results to get strong inequal- ities for maximal functions associated to best Ф-approximation operators in an Orlicz space L^Ф.

This paper shows that the stiffness ofstyrene-butadiene solid rubber with added kaolin powder is related to the yield stress of kaolin dispersion in liquid polybutadiene rubber up to the percolation threshold. For five kinds of kaolin powder, the value of τ° spans the range of 100-430 Pa, while the corresponding compressive elastic constant of SBR varies from 12 to 21 MPa. A relationship between τ° and △E^i^＊/ER^＊ is proposed. Critical examination of these data infers that kaolin powder dispersed in solid rubber matrix acts as an additive which decreases the random movement of the polybutadiene chains. Consequently, dispersions of nano-particles in liquid and in solid SBR are considered to be related, thus leading to a theological method for selecting nano-particles as fillers in solid SBR.
