Soil salinity reduces the biodiversity of natural ecosystems and severely limits sustainability and profitability of agricultural pro-duction *** the increasing reliance of modern agricul-ture on irrigation(Liu et al.,2020a),the extent of the soil salinity is only going to increase under current climate trends *** this context,achieving global food security in the 21 st century will be not feasible without developing a salt-tolerant crop ***,the physiological and genetic complexity of this trait has significantly handicapped progress in the field.

Problematic social media use(PSMU)is a behavioral addiction,a specific form of problematic Internet use associated with the uncontrolled use of social *** is typical mostly for modern adolescents and young adults,which are the first generations fully grown up in the era of total digitalization of *** modern biopsychosocial model of the formation of behavioral addictions,postulating the impact of a large number of biological,psychological,and social factors on addictive behavior formation,may be quite applicable to *** this narrative review,we discussed neurobiological risk factors for Internet addiction with a focus on current evidence on the association between PSMU and structural/functional characteristics of the brain and autonomic nervous system,neurochemical correlations,and genetic features.A review of the literature shows that the vast majority of the mentioned neurobiological studies were focused on computer games addiction and generalized Internet addiction(without taking into account the consumed content).Even though a certain number of neuroimaging studies have been conducted for PSMU,there is practically no research on neuropeptide and genetic associations for PSMU to *** fact points to the extremely high relevance of such studies.

We study various weaker forms of the inverse shadowing property for discrete dynamical systems on a smooth compact ***,we introduce the so-called ergodic inverse shadowing property(Birkhoff averages of continuous functions along an exact trajectory and the approximating one are close).We demonstrate that this property implies the continuity of the set of invariant measures in the Hausdorff *** show that the class of systems with ergodic inverse shadowing is quite broad;it includes all diffeomorphisms with hyperbolic nonwandering ***,we study the so-called individual inverse shadowing(any exact trajectory can be traced by approximate ones,but this shadowing is not uniform with respect to the initial point of the trajectory).We demonstrate that this property is closely related to structural stability andΩ-stability of diffeomorphisms.

The results of a theoretical study on the influence of strength of interphase boundaries in metal-ceramic composite on macroscopical characteristics of composite response such as strength, deformation capacity, fracture energy and fracture pattern are presented. The study was conducted by means of computer-aided simulation by means of movable cellular automaton method taking account of a developed ＂mesoscopical＂ structural model of particle-reinforced composite. The strength of interphase boundaries is found to be a key structural factor determining not only the strength properties of metal-ceramic composite, but also the pattern and rate of fracture. The principles for achievement of the high-strength values of particle/binder interfaces in the metal-ceramic composition due to the formation of the wide transition zones （areas of variable chemical composition） at the interphase boundaries are discussed. Simulation results confirm that such transition zones provide a change in fracture mechanism and make the achievement of a high-strength and a high deformation capacity of metal-ceramic composite possible.

It is known that injection of carbon dioxide into the petroleum reservoir(CO_(2) flooding) is one of the effective methods for enhanced oil recovery. CO_(2) flooding may be complicated by formation of CO_(2) hydrate plugs. It makes topical investigation of CO_(2) hydrate formation in the system gaseous CO_(2)-oil-water. In this work, the growth rates of carbon dioxide hydrate films at the water-oil as well as the water-gas interface are studied in the pressure range of 2.30-3.04 MPa and at temperatures between -5.4 and 5.0℃. It is found that the growth rate for the water-oil interface is 3.5 times lower than that for the water-gas interface with carbon dioxide. It is hypothesised that the observed decrease in the growth rate is related to the mechanical resistance of the oil components adsorbed on the interface to the growth of the hydrate film. The growth rate of the film has been shown to depend on the experimental procedure,most likely due to the different initial concentrations of carbon dioxide in the aqueous solutions.

We compute the characteristic parameters of the magneto-dipole radiation of a neutron star undergoing torsional seismic vibrations under the action of Lorentz restoring force about an axis of a dipolar magnetic field experiencing decay. After a brief outline of the general theoretical background of the model of a vibration-powered neutron star, we present numerical estimates of basic vibration and radiation characteristics, such as frequency, lifetime and luminosity, and investigate their time dependence on magnetic field decay. The presented analysis suggests that a gradual decrease in frequencies of pulsating high-energy emission detected from a handful of currently monitored AXP/SGR-like X-ray sources can be explained as being produced by the vibration-powered magneto-dipole radiation of quaking magnetars.

Efficient nonlinear conversion requires that interacting optical waves maintain a consistent phase relationship when traveling in a medium despite its *** phase-matching,which is often used to compensate for the dispersion,is not applicable to optically isotropic nonlinear ***,we present a one-dimensional photonic crystal structure that allows the propagation of optical surface waves,both at the fundamental and third-harmonic frequencies,as an efficient medium for phasematched third-harmonic generation.A unique advantage of this structure is that the effective refractive indices for the surface waves are similar to the refractive index of air at both *** allows phase-matching between the first and third harmonics,and a visible collinear beam of the third harmonic is produced at the prism-coupled ***,these optical surface waves propagate over long distances even if a lossy nonlinear nanofilm is deposited onto the photonic crystal *** provide experimental results for third-harmonic generation at a wavelength of 410 nm for a bare dielectric Ta2O5/SiO2 multilayer structure and for the same structure coated with a 15-nm GaAs film.

Analysis of molecular mechanisms that lead to the development of various types of tumors is essential for biology and medicine,because it may help to find new therapeutic opportunities for cancer treatment and cure including personalized treatment *** of the pathways known to be important for the development of neoplastic diseases and pathological processes is the Hedgehog signaling pathway that normally controls human embryonic *** accumulation of various types of biological data,including interactions between proteins,regulation of genes transcription,proteomics,and metabolomics experiments results,allows the application of computational analysis of these big data for identification of key molecular mechanisms of certain diseases and pathologies and promising therapeutic *** aim of this study is to develop a computational approach for revealing associations between human proteins and genes interacting with the Hedgehog pathway components,as well as for identifying their roles in the development of various types of *** automatically collect sets of abstract texts from the NCBI PubMed bibliographic *** recognition of the Hedgehog pathway proteins and genes and neoplastic diseases we use a dictionary-based named entity recognition approach,while for all other proteins and genes machine learning method is *** association extraction,we develop a set of semantic *** complete the results of the text analysis with the gene set enrichment *** identified key pathways that may influence the Hedgehog pathway and their roles in tumor development are then verified using the information in the literature.

Potential role of peripheral blood mononuclear cell' s mitochondrial respiratory dysfunction in heart failure severity prediction in patients with cardioverter-defibrillator implantation indications

Background It has been reported that the mitochondrial respiratory dysfunction (MRD) is important mechanisms affecting the heart failure (HF) *** sought to evaluate the potential role of MRD of peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) in HF severity prediction in patients with cardioverter-defibrillator implantation *** In this single-center study patients with HF of New York Heart Association (NYHA) Ⅰ-Ⅲ functional class (FC) and cardioverter-defibrillator implantation indications underwent transthoracic echocardiography (TTE) and MRD assessment using *** respiration rate (MRR) indicators (pyruvate+malate+adenosine diphosphate;succinate+adenosine diphosphate;pyruvate+malate–adenosine diphosphate[V4.1];succinate–adenosine diphosphate) were *** between HF NYHA FC,TTE and MRR indicators were *** on our data,we developed a risk model regarding HF *** Of 53 (100.0%) HF patients,33 (62.3%) had mild exercise intolerance (1stgroup) and 20 (37.7%) had moderate-to-severe exercise intolerance (2ndgroup).Patients with mild exercise intolerance were likely to have a higher V4.1(P<0.001) values.V4.1was independently associated with moderate-to-severe exercise intolerance in univariate and multivariate logistic regression (OR=0.932,95%CI:0.891–0.975,P<0.001).Conclusions The severity of HF is associated with PBMC mitochondrial respiratory dysfunction in patients with cardioverter-defibrillator implantation *** HF severity risk model including V4.1parameters is able to distinguish patients with mild and moderate-to-severe exercise *** investigations of their predictive significance are warranted.
