This study prov.des new insights into the nature of seasonal v.riations in coordinate time series of GPS sites located near activ. faults and methods of their modeling. Monthly av.raged coordinate time series were analyzed for sev.ral pairs of collocated GPS sites situated near the activ. fault intersection area, in close proximity to the central part of the northern boundary of the Amurian plate and the v.cinity of the San Andreas Fault zone. It is concluded that the observ.d seasonal v.riations are best described by a breather function which is one of the solutions of the well-known sine-Gordon equation. The obtained results suggest that, in this case, the source of seasonal v.riations may be caused by the appearance of solitary strain wav.s in the fault intersection system, which may be qualitativ.ly treated as standing wav.s of compression-extension of the geological medium. Based on statistical testing, the limits of applicability of the suggested model hav. been established.

For the first time, a highly crystalline porous shish-kebab structure with a high degree of crystallinity was obtained by using a combination of two methods for the formation of porous polymeric materials. A treatment procedure using supercritical carbon dioxide(sc CO_(2))was carried out for oriented ultrahigh molecular weight polyethylene(UHMWPE) films, which prov.ded special conditions for the crystallization of dissolv.d UHMWPE macromolecules on the surface of oriented UHMWPE crystals. The prepared porous materials were inv.stigated by scanning electron microscopy(SEM) and differential scanning calorimetry(DSC). The particularity of the obtained porous shish-kebab is the absence of the amorphous phase between lamellar crystals(kebabs). The obtained pores had an ov.l shape, and they were oriented in the orientation direction of the UHMWPE macromolecules. The pore size ranged from 0.05 μm to 4 μm. Controlling the conditions for the crystallization of the UHMWPE macromolecules using supercritical CO_(2) giv.s the possibility to control the size of both lamellar disks and pores formed.

In this study,we present an inv.stigation of the newly discov.red dwarf nov. ASASSN-19oc during its superoutburst on 2019 June *** carried out detailed UBv.cIc-photometric observ.tions and also obtained a spectrum on day 7 of the outburst,which shows the presence of hydrogen absorption lines commonly found in dwarf nov. *** of photometric data rev.als the occurrence of early superhumps in the initial days of observ.tions,followed by ordinary and late *** hav. accurately calculated the period of the ordinary superhumps as Pord=0.05681（10） days and determined the periods at different stages,as well as the rate of change of the superhump period (Pdot=（5）P/P=8.1×10-5).Additionally,we hav. deriv.d the mass ratio of the components （q=0.09）,and estimated the color temperature during the outburst as～11,000 K,the distance to the system （d=560 pc） and absolute magnitude of the system in outburst （Mv.5.3）.We hav. shown that outbursts of this star are v.ry rare:based on brightness measurements on 600 archiv.l photographic plates,we found only one outburst that occurred in *** fact,as well as the properties listed abov.,conv.ncingly shows that the v.riable ASASSN-19oc is a dwarf nov. of WZ Sge type.

The emergence of v.n der Waals(v.W)materials resulted in the discov.ry of their high optical,mechanical,and electronic anisotropic properties,immediately enabling countless nov.l phenomena and *** success inspired an intensiv. search for the highest possible anisotropic properties among v.W ***,the identification of the most promising among the huge family of v.W materials is a challenging quest requiring innov.tiv. ***,we suggest an easy-to-use method for such a surv.y based on the crystallographic geometrical perspectiv. of v.W materials followed by their optical *** our approach,we found As2S3 as a highly anisotropic v.W *** demonstrates high in-plane optical anisotropy that is~20%larger than for rutile and ov.r two times as large as calcite,high refractiv. index,and transparency in the v.sible range,ov.rcoming the century-long record set by *** these benefits,As2S3 opens a pathway towards nextgeneration nanophotonics as demonstrated by an ultrathin true zero-order quarter-wav. plate that combines classical and the Fabry–Pérot optical phase ***,our approach prov.des an effectiv. and easy-to-use method to find v.W materials with the utmost anisotropic properties.

Background: COv.D-19 limitations hav. hindered the implementation of new technologies by prev.nting proctors from coming to the *** share our first experience of magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)-guided focused ultrasound(MRgFUS)treatment with an international remote online proctorship,and dev.lop and ev.luate the methodology of remote MRgFUS ***: This single-center,nonrandomized controlled prospectiv. study included 94 patients:27 with essential tremor(ET)and 67 with tremor-dominant Parkinson's disease(PD).The coming of proctors was impossible,so we arranged for the remote participation of proctors from the United Kingdom,Spain,and Israel.A total of 38 patients(40.4%)receiv.d telemedicine-proctored treatment(proctor group)and 56 receiv.d their treatment independently(solo group).We used the Clinical Rating Scale for Tremor(CRST)for ET patients and the Unified Parkinson's Disease Rating Scale(UPDRS)Part III for PD ***: In patients with ET,success rates were 81.8%(proctor group)and 100%(solo group)(p=0.22).CRST reduction on the treated side was 71.43%[65.83%;80.56%](proctor group)v.rsus 60.87%[53.99;79.58](solo group)(p=0.19).None of the patients showed worsening of tremors within 1 *** patients with PD,the success rates were 92.6%(proctor group)and 100%(solo group)(p=0.08).The UPDRS Part III improv.ment was 30.1%(proctor group)v.rsus 39.9%(solo group)(p=0.003).The 1-year recurrence rate was 40%(proctor group)and 17.5%(solo group)(p=0.04).No complications were observ.d at 6 ***: We dev.loped a feasible and safe methodology for telemedicine remote online-proctored MRgFUS *** significant difference was observ.d between the solo and dev.loped remote proctor protocols in terms of complication rate,effect,and long-term results;howev.r,UPDRS Part III improv.ment was better in the PD solo *** study demonstrated that the MRgFUS international proctorship can be performed successfully remotely.

Background:There are substantial regional differences in drinking alcohol in Russia,both at the population and indiv.dual ***,the causes of these differences hav. not been studied ***:The goal of our study was to examine the effect of regional liv.ng conditions on indiv.dual alcohol consumption by the population of ***:For the analysis,we used data from a cross-sectional epidemiological study conducted in *** final analytical sample included 18,130 people aged 25-64 *** conducted the interv.ews face to face,based on which any drinking in the last year,as well as alcohol abuse,were considered as a *** abuse was recorded when the respondent consumed 5.75 or more grams of pure ethanol per day(75th percentile of av.rage daily alcohol consumption among alcohol drinkers).The assessment of the regional liv.ng conditions was accomplished v.a integral indexing,which was prev.ously performed based on publicly av.ilable data for *** were assessed using generalized scoring equations with unchanging standard *** associations were expressed by odds ratios(OR)and 95%confidence interv.ls(C).Results:Deterioration of social conditions and increase in demographic depression in the region of residence increased the odds of any drinking(OR 1.51,95%CI:1.33 to 1.72,Pv.ly).The odds of alcohol abuse increased with the deterioration of social liv.ng conditions and the growth of the industrial dev.lopment in the region:OR 1.35,95%CI:1.14 to 1.59,Pv.ng conditions on indiv.dual drinking alcohol in the population of Russia.
