Phylogeny of Brucella abortus strains isolated in the Russian Federation

Objective: To study Brucella(B.) abortus strains isolated in the Russian Federation, in order to identify their detailed position in the phylogenetic structure of the species global population as well as to determine genetic relationships for isolates from different geographical ***: Based on Bayesian method, the whole genome singlenucleotide polymorphism(sNP) analysis of 258 B. abortus strains from different geographical areas of the world including 20 B. abortus strains isolated in Russia was carried out. Results: The core genome sNP analysis of the B. abortus isolates allowed describing the main genetic lineages. The Russian strains entered two separate clades, including the basal branch and the C1 branch that is widely spread in Eurasia. The data on the isolation time was used for the dating of phylogenetic tree, and also the estimated time frame for the B. abortus genotype diversification was determined. There were sets of specific sNPs identified, which defined each of the genotypes and ***: A significant genetic diversity of the brucellosis pathogen strains from Russia has been proven. The sets of unique specific sNPs described in our study may become one of the elements within a bio-informational analysis algorithm to be used for epidemiological study of brucellosis outbreaks, including those caused by new(atypical) genetic variants of B. abortus.

Diclofenac sodium(Ds) is a widely used nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug(NsAIDs).NsAIDs are poorly removed during standard wastewater *** consequences of the presence of NsAIDs in rivers and lakes at 10-11–10-8 mol/L are not yet established;therefore, ecotoxicologists have focused their efforts on studying the effect of lowconcentration NsAIDs on fish and hydrobionts, and also on predicting the potential risks to *** provides some information about the bioeffects of some NsAID solutions in low concentrations but there is no physicochemical explanation for these *** the physicochemical patterns of Ds solutions in the low range of concentrations and establishing an interconnection between the solutions’ physicochemical properties and bioeffects can provide a conceptually new and important source of information regarding the unknown effects of *** physicochemical properties and action of Ds solutions on Ceriodaphnia affinis cladocerans,Paramecium caudatum infusoria, Chlorella vulgaris unicellular green algae, as well as on the growth of the roots of Triticum vulgare wheat seeds, were studied in the calculated concentration range of 1 × 10-3–1 × 10-18 mol/*** relationship between these phenomena was established using the certified procedures for monitoring the toxicity of natural water and *** was shown for the first time that water solutions of Ds are dispersed systems in which the dispersed phase undergoes a rearrangement with dilution, accompanied by changes in its size and properties, which affects the nonmonotonic dependences of the system’s physicochemical properties and could cause nonmonotonic changes in action on hydrobionts in the low concentration range.

Lake Baikal is the biggest reservoir of fresh water with unique flora and fauna;presently it is negatively affected by climate change, water warming, industrial emissions, shipping,touristic activities, and siberian forest *** assessment of air pollution-related Baikal’s ecosystem damage is an unsolved ***, based expedition exploring the Baikal atmospheric aerosol loading, was performed over the lake area in July *** combine the aerosol near-water and vertical distributions over the Lake Baikal basin with meteorological observations and air mass transportation *** sounding of aerosol fields in the troposphere assesses the atmospheric background in the pristine areas and the pollution during fire-affected *** optical properties(scattering and spectral absorption) converted to the particle number size, black carbon(BC) mass, and Absorption Angstrom Exponent(AAE) provide the inside into aerosol *** of industrial emissions from Krasnoyarsk and Irkutsk regions, and wildfire plumes from Republic of Yakutia relates the pollution sources to the increased concentrations of fine particle numbers, PM_(10) and BC mass over southern and Northern/Central Baikal, *** highest PM10 and BC are associated to the harbor and touristic areas of intensive shipping and residential biomass *** estimates applied to aerosol data exhibit the pollution fluxes to water surface over the whole Baikal *** marks the impact of coal combustion, residential biomass burning, and wildfires indicating the high pollution level of the Lake Baikal ecological system.

Amiodarone Modulation of Intracellular Transport of Calcium Ions in Cardiomyocites

The influence of amiodarone on intracellular transport of calcium ion in cardiomyocytes of rat was investigated. The experiments were performed on isolated papillary muscles of Wistar rats. Force-frequency dependence (0.7, 1, 2, 3, 4 Hz), extrasystolic and postextrasystolic contractions and post-rest (4-60 s) reactions of rat myocardium after amiodarone treatment (1 μM) were investigated. Decay potentiation coefficient of contraction force was estimated. Results. The analyses of force-frequency dependence has shown that amiodarone prevent the decreasing of the force contraction at increasing of the stimulation frequency. Amiodarone promotes increase of the time constant t1(T50), that indicate the drug promotes acceleration of Са2+ transport inside the sR resulting increase of Са2+ in the places of its release from the sarcoplasmic reticulum (sR). Treatment of papillary muscle with amiodarone decreased amplitude of extrasystolic contractions. As known, postextrasystolic and post-rest reactions of myocardium characterize the sR function. We have found amiodarone increased potentiation of postextrasystolic and post-rest contractions. Preliminary caffeine perfusion of muscles preparations cancelled the amiodarone-induced increasing postextrasystolic and post-rest potentiation. However, potentiation decay coefficient before and after treatment with amiodarone didn’t have difference. Conclusions, amiodarone influences on intracellular calcium ions homeostasis by modulation sR functions related with most likely are stipulated either by activation of Са2+ transport from uptake sites to release sites or by prevent of Са2+ leakage from the sR.
