This paper describes our work on developing a human-machine dialogue-based English computer assisted language learning(CALL) *** system aims at eliciting more speech production from Japanese E2L(English as a second language) learners in order to improve their speaking skills,by involving them in man-machine *** contents include the following three parts:the first one introduces the system interface which provides prompt text in Japanese,in order to help learners construct utterances which are easy to be recognized;The second one presents the speech recognizer that uses a reduced phoneme set to develop acoustic *** set was developed by a phonetic decision tree based data-driven *** ASR performance achieved 93% word accuracy on the collected dialogue speech at a real time speed,based on a tri-gram with a perplexity of *** third one is about the collection of simulated E2L dialogue databases for future studies on dialogue management and system optimization.

＜正＞ This paper proposes a method tbr designing a sentence set for utterances taking account of prosody. This method is based on a measure of coverage which incorporates two factors: （1） the distribution of voice fundamental frequency and phoneme duration predicted by the prosody generation module of a TTS;（2） perceptual damage to naturalness due to prosody modification. A set of 500 sentences with a predicted coverage of 82.6% was designed by this method, and used to collect a speech corpus. The obtained speech corpus yielded 88% of the predicted coverage. The data size was reduced to 49% in terms of number of sentences （89% in terms of number of phonemes） compared to a general-purpose corpus designed without taking prosody into account.

Effect of Catch Cup Geometry on 3D Boundary Layer Flow over the Wafer Surface in a Spin Coating

Recently, development of high technology has been required for the formation of thin uniform film in manufacturing processes of semiconductor as the semiconductor instruments become more sophisticated. Spin coating is usually used for spreading photoresist on a wafer surface. However, since rotating speed of the disk is very high in spin coating, the dropped photoresist scarers outward and reattaches on the film surface. A catch cup is set up outside the wafer in spin coating, and scattered photoresist mist is removed from the wafer edge by the exhaust flow generated at the gap between the wafer edge and the catch cup. In the dry process of a spin coating, it is a serious concern that the film thickness increases near the wafer edge in the case of low rotating speed. The purpose of this study is to make clear the effect of the catch cup geometry on the 3D boundary layer flow over the wafer surface and the drying rate of liquid film.

Transient receptor potential vanilloid 1-immunoreactive signals in murine enteric glial cells

AIM To investigate the possible involvement of transient receptor potential vanilloid 1(TRPV1) in maturation of enteric glial cells(EGCs).METHODS Immunohistochemical and immunocytochemical techniques were used to analyze EGC markers in myenteric plexus(MP) as well as cultured MP cells and EGCs using TRPV1 knockout(KO) *** We detected TRPV1-immunoreactive signals in EGC in the MP of wild-type(WT) but not KO mice. Expression of glial fibrillary acidic protein(GFAP) immunoreactive signals was lower at postnatal day(PD) 6 in KO mice, though the difference was not clear at PD 13 and PD 21. When MP cells were isolated and cultured from isolated longitudinal muscle-MP preparation from WT and KO mice, the yield of KO EGC was lower than that of WT EGC, while the yield of KO and WT smooth muscle cells showed no difference. Addition of BCTC, a TRPV1 antagonist, to enriched EGC culture resulted in a decrease in the protein ratio of GFAP to S100 B, another EGC/astrocyte-specific marker. CONCLUSION These results address the possibility that TRPV1 may be involved in the maturation of EGC, though further studies are necessary to validate this possibility.

Although gastrointestinal stromal tumor(GIST) occurs generally in the digestive tract,omental GIST is very *** report the first case of an adult greater omental GIST with a new platelet-derived growth factor receptor α gene(PDGFRA)-mutation with hemoperitoneum.A 43-year-old man was admitted to our hospital complaining of acute abdominal *** contrast-enhanced computed tomography revealed a huge mass in the right abdominal cavity,and a large accumulation of fluid in the pelvic cavity,suggesting *** diagnosed the rupture as an intra-abdominal tumor,and an emergency tumorectomy was performed with resection of the greater *** tumor was located in the distal right side ofthe greater omentum,and showed no continuity with the gastric *** tumor occurred primarily in the greater *** resected tumor was about 19 cm × 12 cm × 14 cm in diameter,and weighed 1529 ***,the tumor was composed of epithelioidshaped cells with high cellularity,and was positive for CD117 and CD34,and negative for S-100,α-smooth muscle *** mitosis was 6/50 under high power *** case showed exon 18 mutation of PDGFRA with 846(Asp to Glu) substitution,848(Asn to Lys) *** is the first report of this PDGFRA mutation in omental GIST,and this might play an important role in the tumorigenesis of this *** on these findings,the tumor was diagnosed as high risk GIST primarily occurring in the greater *** patient was treated with imatinib at a dose of 400 mg/d as adjuvant chemotherapy,and has been followed up for 24 mo with no evidence of recurrence.

This paper describes an application of a geographical information system with visualized and signification lunar remote sensing data provided by Japan s lunar explorer (SELENE KAGUYA ). Web based GIS is a very powerful tool which lunar scientists can use to visualize and access remote sensing data with other geospatial information. We discuss enhancement of the pseudo-colored visual map presentation of lunar topographical altimetry data derived from LALT and the map of the data to several sound parameters (Interval, harmony, and tempo). This paper describes an overview of this GIS with a sonification system, called Moonbell .
