The title compound, methyl 2-（diphenylamino）-4-phenyl-1,3-thiazole-5-carboxylate, was synthesized and studied by single-crystal X-ray diffraction method. The structure of the product was confirmed by IR, 1H- and 13C-NMR spectroscopy and elemental analysis. These experimental studies were supported by quantum mechanical calculations. The structure was solved in monoclinic, space group P21/c with a = 9.573（3）, b = 19.533（7）, c = 9.876（3）, β = 92.35（4）°, V = 1845.2（10）3, T = 85（2） K, Z = 4, R = 0.040 and wR = 0.089 for 6424 observed reflections with I2σ（I）.

This study focused on the comparison of the Pechini and sugar-based combustion synthesis methods to produce nano-zirconia. Zirconium hydroxide was utilized as metal precursor and citric acid, sucrose, and fructose were used as chelating agents, followed by calcination at 500, 600, and 700°C in air, respectively. Characterization was conducted by thermal analysis, specific surface area measurement, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, and scanning and transmission electron microscopy. When sucrose and citric acid were used as chelating agents during synthesis, mixtures of monoclinic and tetragonal phases were formed after calcination at 600 and 700°C. In the fructose samples, the tetragonal structure was the unique characterized phase. The tetragonal parameters in the fructose samples were determined using the diffraction data and the lattice parameter ratio was proven to increase with the temperature increase. Compared with the citrate and sucrose samples, the largest specific surface area(27 m2·g-1) and smallest particle size(39.1 nm) were obtained for the fructose sample after calcination at 700°C. The study revealed the formation of single-phase stabilized tetragonal zirconia using fructose as chelating agent after calcination at 500°C, and the presence and formation mechanism of stabilized tetragonal phase were also discussed on the basis of the X-ray and electron diffraction studies.

Zinc chloride is an efficient and safe catalyst in the [3 ＋ 2] cycloaddition reaction of organic nitriles with sodium azide in solventless condition. The corresponding 5-substituted ^1H tetrazoles were obtained under mild conditions. This method can overcome disadvantages such as： the use of toxic metals and expensive reagents, drastic reaction conditions, water sensitivity and the presence of dangerous hydrazoic acid.

We studied the effects of nanoparticles of organo-silane（NOS） compounds in the size range of20–80 nm on physical and mechanical properties in medium density fiberboard,and used NOS at four consumption levels of 0,50,100,and 150 g kg-1dry wood *** of all treatments was kept constant at 0.67 g *** water-repellent property of organo-silane significantly reduced water absorption（WA） and thickness swelling but mechanical properties declined due to the reduced proportion of wood-fiber as organo-silane was added to the matrix：the compression ratio of MDF panels and the integrity among wood-fibers both declined,resulting in reduced mechanical *** recommend use of 50 g of NOS/kg wood-fiber to improve WA and thickness swelling while retaining acceptable mechanical properties.

Synthesis of iron oxide nanoparticles via sonochemical method and their characterization

Preparation of iron oxide （α-Fe2O3） nanoparticles was carried out via a sonochemical process. The process parameters sucb as temperature, sonication time and power of ultrasonication play important roles in the size and morphology of the final products. The iron oxide nanoparticles were characterized by trans- mission electron microscopy, X-ray powder diffraction, and thermogravimetric and differential thermal analyses. From transmission electron microscopy observations, the size of the iron oxide nanoparticles is estimated to be significantly smaller than 19 nm. X-ray diffraction data of the powder after annealing provide direct evidence that the iron oxide was formed during the sonochemical process.
