The use of topology optimization in structural design under dynamic excitation is becoming more prevalent in the *** many such applications utilize frequency or time domain formulations,relatively few consider stochastic dynamic *** paper presents an efficient and compact code called TopSTO for structural topology optimization considering stationary stochastic dynamic loading using a method derived from random vibration *** theory,described in conjunction with the implementation in the provided code,is illustrated for a seismically excited *** work demonstrates the efficiency of the approach in terms of both the computational resources and minimal amount of code *** code is intended to serve as a baseline for understanding the theory and implementation of this topology optimization approach and as a foundation for additional applications and developments.

In the present paper the edge stabilization technique is applied to a convection-diffusion problem with exponential boundary layers on the unit square, using a Shishkin mesh with bilinear finite elements in the layer regions and linear elements on the coarse part of the mesh. An error bound is proved for ‖πu-u^h‖Е, where πu is some interpolant of the solution u and uh the discrete solution. This supercloseness result implies an optimal error estimate with respect to the L2 norm and opens the door to the application of postprocessing for improving the discrete solution.

A new recovery operator P ：Qn^disc（T）→Qn＋1^disc（M） for discontinuous Galerkin is derived. It is based on the idea of projecting a discontinuous, piecewise polynomial solution on a given mesh T into a higher order polynomial space on a macro mesh M. In order to do so, we define local degrees of freedom using polynomial moments and provide global degrees of freedom on the macro mesh. We prove consistency with respect to the local L2-projection, stability results in several norms and optimal anisotropic error estimates. As an example, we apply this new recovery technique to a stabilized solution of a singularly perturbed convection-diffusion problem using bilinear elements.

AIM： To evaluate a newly developed hand-held confocal probe for in vivo microscopic imaging of the complete gastrointestinal tract in rodents. METHODS： A novel rigid confocal probe （diameter 7 mm） was designed with optical features similar to the flexible endomicroscopy system for use in humans using a 488 nm single line laser for fluorophore excitation, Light emission was detected at 505 to 750 nm. The field of view was 475 μm × 475 μm. Optical slice thickness was 7 μm with a lateral resolution of 0.7 μm. Subsurface serial images at different depths （surface to 250 μm） were generated in real time at 1024 × 1024 pixels （0.8 frames/s） by placing the probe onto the tissue in gentle, stable contact. Tissue specimens were sampled for histopathological correlation.RESULTS： The esophagus, stomach, small and large intestine and meso, liver, pancreas and gall bladder were visualised in vivo at high resolution in n = 48 mice. Real time microscopic imaging with the confocal minimicroscopy probe was easy to achieve. The different staining protocols （fluorescein, acriflavine, fITC-labelled dextran and L. esculentum lectin） each highlighted specific aspects of the tissue, and in vivo imaging correlated excellently with conventional histology. In vivo blood flow monitoring added a functional quality to morphologic imaging.CONCLUSION： Confocal microscopy is feasible in vivo allowing the visualisation of the complete GI tract at high resolution even of subsurface tissue structures. The new confocal probe design evaluated in this study is compatible with laparoscopy and significantly expands the field of possible applications to intra-abdominal organs. It allows immediate testing of new in vivo staining and application options and therefore permits rapid transfer from animal studies to clinical use in patients.

The article approaches Wong Kar-wai＇s cinematic work using the notion of ＂minor literature＂ as coined by Gilles Deleuze and f61ix Guattari. Minor literature--or, in other words, minor language signifies oppositional/resistant uses of a major/hegemonic language. It appropriates hegemonic language and deterritorialises it by re-signifying its original meanings. By transferring this concept from literature to cinema, we can describe Hong Kong cinema, which deterritorialises Hollywood cinema, as a minor cinema in relation to Hollywood. following this interpretation, Wong Kar-wai＇s movies appear as a ＂minor language of a minor cinema＂ because they are significantly different from Hong Kong＇s mainstream action cinema. Consequently, Wong＇s movies possess a high level of deterritorialising power, which opens up new spaces of meaning and gives voice to positions usually oppressed by mainstream cinema. finally, a close reading of Wong＇s movie Happy Together shows how ＂minor movies＂ challenge the mainstream＇s unison and give space to a resistant and transforming polyphony.

Alcoholic liver disease(ALD) and hepatitis C virus(HCV) infection represent, either alone or in combination, more than two thirds of all patients with liver disease in the Western *** review discusses the epidemiology and combined impact of ALD and HCV on the progres sion of liver *** and HCV affect the progres sion of liver disease to liver cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) in a synergistic ***, the risk for HCC increases f ive times with a daily alcohol con sumption of 80 g;in the presence of HCV it is increased 20fold, and a combination of both risk factors leads to a more than 100fold risk for HCC *** consumption also decreases the response to interferon treatment which is probably due to a lack of compliance than a direct effect on HCV *** molecu lar mechanisms are discussed that could explain the synergistic interaction of alcohol and HCV on disease *** include modulation of the immune response and apoptosis, increased oxidative stress via induction of CYP2E1 and the hepatic accumulation of ***, both HCV and alcohol independently cause hepatic iron accumulation in > 50% of patients probably due to suppression of the liversecreted systemic iron hormone hepcidin.A better understanding of hepcidin regulation could help in developing novel therapeutic approaches to treat the chronic disease in the *** now, it can be generally concluded that HCVinfect ed patients should abstain from alcohol and alcoholicsshould be encouraged to participate in detoxification programs.

Tension chylothorax following blunt thoracic trauma is an extremely rare *** we report such a case and review its management.A 31-year-old man was involved in a road traffic *** car rolled over and the patient was ejected from the *** arrival at the Emergency Department the patient was conscious and haemodynamically *** examination of the chest and abdomen was *** patient had sustained fractures of the sixth cervical vertebra and the tenth thoracic vertebra,left pleural effusion,haematoma around the descending aorta and fracture of the right *** left pleural effusion continued to increase in size and caused displacement of the trachea and mediastinum to the opposite *** intercostal chest tube was inserted on the left side on the second *** drained 1500 mL of milky,bloodstained *** confirmed the diagnosis of chylothorax by a histopathological examination of a cell block prepared from the left pleural effusion using Oil red O *** patient was managed conservatively with chest tube drainage and fat free *** chylothorax completely resolved on the eighth day after the *** patient was discharged home on day 16.
