Physically active primary care physicians consult more on physical activity and exercise for patients: A public teaching-hospital study

Physical activity and exercise(PAE)improve quality of life and reduce the effects of chronic *** care physicians(PCPs)play an important role to encourage PAE in *** aim to assess PCPs'current PAE consultation practices and their enablers/barriers in daily clinical *** had 64 PCPs(age[35.3±4.7]y,47 women)that completed self-administered questionnaires on PAE consultation practices,training,and confidence ***(n=42)also completed the International Physical Activity Questionnaire-Short Form to assess their physical activity(PA)*** conducted correlation,one-way analysis of variance and a linear regression to assess the associations between enablers,barriers and PA levels to PAE consultation *** average,PCPs consulted on PAE in 49.7%of their daily clinical *** of PCPs(70%)strongly agreed that more PAE knowledge were needed to increase consultation *** three barriers related(practices were lack of PAE education(r=0.47),patients’preference of pharmaceutical interventions(r=0.45)and lack of continuing education in PAE for PCPs(r=0.37).Physically active PCPs(health-enhancing PA levels,n=6)gave significantly more daily consultations in PAE,73.2%±21.9%,compared to inactive PCPs(n=13),37.4%22.8%(p=0.013).In our regression output,PCPs who had higher PA levels consulted more on PAE daily(r^(2)=0.38,prolling for ***,PCPs require more knowledge on PAE and need be physically active themselves to increase PAE consultation for patients in their daily *** education should consider including more PA and exercise topics that may benefit both physicians and their patients.

The progression of ulcerative colitis(UC)is associated with immunologic derangement,intestinal hemorrhage,and microbiota *** traditional medications mainly focus on mitigating inflammation,it remains challenging to address multiple ***,a versatile gas-propelled nanomotor was constructed by mild fusion of post-ultrasonic CaO_(2) nanospheres with Cu_(2)O *** resulting CaO_(2)–Cu_(2)O possessed a desirable diameter(291.3 nm)and a uniform size *** could be efficiently internalized by colonic epithelial cells and macrophages,scavenge intracellular reactive oxygen/nitrogen species,and alleviate immune reactions by pro-polarizing macrophages to the anti-inflammatory M2 *** nanomotor was found to penetrate through the mucus barrier and accumulate in the colitis mucosa due to the driving force of the generated oxygen *** administration of CaO_(2)–Cu_(2)O could stanch the bleeding,repair the disrupted colonic epithelial layer,and reduce the inflammatory responses through its interaction with the genes relevant to blood coagulation,anti-oxidation,wound healing,and ***,it restored intestinal microbiota balance by elevating the proportions of beneficial bacteria(e.g.,Odoribacter and Bifidobacterium)and decreasing the abundances of harmful bacteria(e.g.,Prevotellaceae and Helicobacter).Our gas-driven CaO_(2)–Cu_(2)O offers a promising therapeutic platform for robust treatment of UC via the rectal route.

Narrowband photodetectors conventionally rely on optical structure design orbandpass filters to achieve the narrowband regime. recently, a strategy forfilterless narrowband photoresponse based on the charge collection narrowing(CCN) mechanism was reported. However, the CCN strategy requires an electrically and optically “thick” photoactive layer, which poses challenges in controlling the narrowband photoresponse. Here we propose a novel strategy forconstructing narrowband photodetectors by leveraging the inherent ion migration in perovskites, which we term “band modulation narrowing” (BMN). Bymanipulating the ion migration with external stimuli such as illumination,temperature, and bias voltage, we can regulate in situ the energy-band structure of perovskite photodetectors (PPDs) and hence their spectral *** the Fermi energy levels obtained by the Kelvin probe force microscopy, the internal potential profiles from solar cell capacitance simulator simulation, and the anion accumulation revealed by the transient ion-drifttechnique, we discover two critical mechanisms behind our BMN strategy: theextension of an optically active but electronically dead region proximal to the top electrode and the down-bending energy bands near the electron transportlayer. Our findings offer a case for harnessing the often-annoying ionmigration for developing advanced narrowband PPDs.

Atherosclerosis remains a great threat to human health *** studies found that tetramethylpyrazine(TMP)and paeonifl orin(PF)combination(TMP-PF)exerts anti-atherosclerotic effects in ***,whether TMP-PF improves atherosclerosis in vivo needs further *** present study aims to assess the anti-atherosclerotic properties of TMP-PF in ApoE^(-/-)mice and explore the related molecule *** showed that TMP and high-dose TMP-PF decreased serum triglyceride and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol levels,suppressed vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 2(VEGFr2)and nuclear receptor subfamily 4 group A member 1(Nr4A1)expression in aortic tissues,inhibited plaque angiogenesis,reduced plaque areas,and alleviated atherosclerosis in ApoE^(-/-)***,TMP-PF exhibited a better modulation effect than TMP or PF ***,Nr4A1 agonist abolished the anti-atherosclerotic effects of *** conclusion,TMP-PF was first found to alleviate atherosclerosis progression by reducing hyperlipemia and inhibiting plaque angiogenesis via the Nr4A1/VEGFr2 pathway,indicating that TMP-PF had a positive effect on reducing hyperlipemia and attenuating atherosclerosis development.
