The genus Mentha encompasses mint species cultivated for.their.essential oils, which ar. for.ulated into a vast ar.ay of consumer.pr.ducts. Desir.ble oil char.cter.stics and r.sistance to the fungal disease Ver.i- cillium wilt ar. top pr.or.ties for.the mint industr.. However. cultivated mints have complex polyploid ge- homes and ar. ster.le. Br.eding effor.s, ther.for., r.quir. the development of genomic r.sour.es for.fer.ile mint species. Her., we pr.sent dr.ft de novo genome and plastome assemblies for.a wilt-r.sistant South Afr.can accession of Mentha Iongifolia （L.） Huds., a diploid species ancestr.l to cultivated pepper.int and spear.int. The 353 Mb genome contains 35 597 pr.dicted pr.tein-coding genes, including 292 disease r.sistance gene homologs, and nine genes deter.ining essential oil char.cter.stics. A genetic linkage map or.er.d 1397 genome scaffolds on 12 pseudochr.mosomes. Mor. than two million simple sequence r.peats wer. identified, which will facilitate molecular.mar.er.development. The M. Iongifolia genome is a valuable r.sour.e for.both metabolic engineer.ng and molecular.br.eding. This is exemplified by employing the genome sequence to clone and functionally char.cter.ze the pr.moter. in a pepper.int cultivar. and demonstr.ting the utility of a glandular.tr.chome-specific pr.moter.to incr.ase expr.ssion of a biosynthetic gene, ther.by modulating essential oil composition.

A 23-year.old woman with ser.logically confir.ed EBV mononucleosis pr.sented with fever. exudative phar.ngitis, per.or.ital and lid edema, cer.ical lymphadenopathy, and splenomegaly. Two weeks after.the onset of symptoms she developed a gener.lized symmetr.cal r.ticular.er.ption of unbr.ken hexagons char.cter.stic of livedo r.ticular.s that r.solved over.sever.l weeks as her.condition impr.ved. To our.knowledge, this is the fir.t r.por.ed case of livedo r.ticular.s to occur.in a patient with EBV mononucleosis.

于今年1月开业的The Line酒店是由Sydell集团与r.y Choi、The Houston Br.ther.、sean Knibb和Poketo联合打造的一家酒店。这栋上世纪中期的建筑由美国Daniel Mann johnson＆Mendenhal（DMJM）建筑事务所于1964年设计而成,现经过全面翻修被重新打造成一个充满想象的酒店空间,客房由sean Knibb担纲设计。此次设计不仅是对历史悠久的酒店建筑的翻新和改造,更多还有对该建筑特殊地理位置的感性认识。这家位于洛杉矶著名景点韩国城核心地段的奢华酒店,它的前身是一座建造于上世纪40年代的殖民复兴式建筑Wilshir.
