Lactic acid is an important organic acid that is widely used in the food,pharmaceutical,and cosmetic *** acid was produced from coffee ground waste which contains fermentable sugars and is increasingly generated from our daily dietary *** 114 strains of Lactobacillus species,Lactobacillus rhamnosus ATCC 10863 was selected for the production of lactic acid from coffee ground *** alkali pretreatment and saccharification,cellulose and hemicellulose in coffee ground waste were converted into fermentable *** experiments were conducted at various alkali solution,concentrations,and *** pretreatment with 35 g/L of KOH at 121oC for 60 min,the highest concentration of fermentable sugars was *** optimum concentration of Viscozyme L was 2%when saccharification was proceeded at 55oC for 7 *** productivity of lactic acid fermentation was the highest(0.59 g/L/h)at 100 g of coffee ground waste(1x concentration),whereas the lactic acid concentration was the highest at 600 g of coffee ground waste(6x concentration).As the concentration of coffee ground increased,the lactic acid concentration was also increased,however,the amount was not proportional to the coffee ground waste *** this study,it was found that coffee ground waste could be used as a culture medium for Lactobacillus rhamnosus ATCC 10863 through pretreatment and saccharification for the production of lactic acid.

The intermediate phase formation and surface protection effects between SKD61 die mold alloys and aluminum alloys were investigated during a simulated die-casting *** surface coatings of SKD61 alloy were carried out via Si pack cementation coatings at 900 ℃ for 10 h and the ε-FeSi phase *** the coated SKD61 alloy was dipped in the liquid aluminum alloy(ALDC12),the surface coated SKD61 alloys showed better surface properties compared with uncoated SKD61 alloys,i.e.,the intermediate phases(FeSiAl compound) were not produced for the coated SKD61 *** coating layer of ε-FeSi served as a diffusion barrier for the formation of FeSiAl compounds.

We construct holographic Janus solutions,which describe a conformal interface in the theory of M2-branes,in four-dimensional gauged supergravities using a perturbative *** particular,we study three Einsteinscalar systems and their BPS equations,which are derived by Bobev,Pilch,and Warner(2014).The actions of our interest are all consistent truncations of D=11 supergravity,chosen to be invariant under SO(4)×SO(4),SU(3)×U(1)×U(1),and G2 symmetry subgroups of SO(8).The utility of our semi-analytic result is illustrated by the calculation of minimal area surface and the associated holographic entanglement entropy.

In spite of the high potential economic feasibility of the tandem solar cells consisting of the halide perovskite and the kesterite Cu2ZnSn(S,se)4(CZTSse),they have rarely been demonstrated due to the difficulty in implementing solution-processed perovskite top cell on the rough surface of the bottom ***,we firstly demonstrate an efficient monolithic two-terminal perovskite/CZTSse tandem solar cell by significantly reducing the surface roughness of the electrochemically deposited CZTSse bottom *** surface roughness(R_(rms))of the CZTSse thin film could be reduced from 424 to 86 nm by using the potentiostatic mode rather than using the conventional galvanostatic mode,which can be further reduced to 22 nm after the subsequent ion-milling *** perovskite top cell with a bandgap of 1.65 eV could be prepared using a solution process on the flattened CZTSse bottom cell,resulting in the efficient perovskite/CZTSse tandem solar *** the current matching between two subcells involving the thickness control of the perovskite layer,the best performing tandem device exhibited a high conversion efficiency of 17.5%without the hysteresis effect.

Transmesenteric hernias have bimodal distribution and occur in both pediatric and adult patients. In the adult population, the cause is iatrogenic, traumatic, or inflammatory. We report a case of transmesocolic hernia in an elderly person without any preoperative history. An 84-year-old Korean female was admitted with midabdominal pain and distension for 1 d. On abdominal computed tomography, we diagnosed transmesocolic hernia with strangulated small bowel obstruction, and performed emergency surgery. The postoperative period was uneventful and she was discharged 11 d after surgery. Hence, it is important to consider the possibility of transmesocolic hernia in elderly patients with signs and symptoms of intestinal obstruction, even in cases with no previous surgery. 2013 Baishideng. Doped two-dimensional(2D)materials hold significant promise for advancing many technologies,such as microelectronics,optoelectronics,and energy ***,n-type 2D oxidized Si nanosheets,namely n-type siloxene(n-SX),are employed as Li-ion battery *** thermal evaporation of sodium hypophosphite at 275℃,P atoms are effectively incorporated into siloxene(SX)without compromising its 2D layered morphology and unique Kautsky-type crystal ***,selective nucleophilic substitution occurs,with only Si atoms being replaced by P atoms in the O_(3)≡Si-H *** resulting n-SX possesses two delocalized electrons arising from the presence of two electron donor types:(i)P atoms residing in Si sites and(ii)H *** doping concentrations are varied by controlling the amount of precursors or their mean free *** at 2000 mA g^(-1),the n-SX electrode with the optimized doping concentration(6.7×10^(19) atoms cm^(-3))delivers a capacity of 594 mAh g^(-1) with a 73%capacity retention after 500 *** improvements originate from the enhanced kinetics of charge transport processes,including electronic conduction,charge transfer,and solid-state *** approach proposed herein offers an unprecedented route for engineering SX anodes to boost Li-ion storage.

AIM： To investigate the usefulness of tumor markers and adenosine deaminase in differentiating between tuberculous peritonitis （TBP） and peritoneal carcinoma- tosis （PC）. METHODS： A retrospective analysis of data was per- formed on consecutive patients who underwent perito- neoscopic and abdominal computed tomography （CT） evaluations. Among 75 patients at the seoul National University Hospital from January 2000 to June 2010 who underwent both tests, 27 patients （36.0%） and 25 patients （33.3%） were diagnosed with TBP and PC, re- spectively. Diagnosis was confirmed by peritoneoscopic biopsy. RESULTS： serum c-reactive protein （7.88：1：6.62 mg/ dL vs 3.12 ＋ 2.69 mg/dL, P = 0.01）, ascites adenos- ine deaminase （66.76：1：32.09 IU/L vs 13.89 ：l： 8.95 IU/L, P 〈 0.01）, ascites lymphocyte proportion （67.77 ：1： 23.41% vs 48.36 ＋ 18.78%, P 〈 0.01）, and serum- ascites albumin gradient （0.72 ＋ 0.49 g/dL vs 1.05 ＋ 0.50 g/dL, P = 0.03） were significantly different be- tween the two groups. Among tumor markers, serum and ascites carcinoembryonic antigen, serum carbohy- drate antigen 19-9 showed significant difference be- tween two groups. Abdominal CT examinations showed that smooth involvement of the parietal peritoneum was more common in the TBP group （77.8% vs 40.7%） whereas nodular involvement was more common in the PC group （14.8% vs 40.7%, P = 0.04）. From receiver operating characteristic （ROC） curves ascites adeno- sines deaminase （ADA） showed better discriminative capability than tumor markers. An ADA cut-off level of 21 IU/L was found to yield the best results of differ- ential diagnosis; sensitivity, specificity, positive predic- tive value, and negative predictive value were 92.0%, 85.0%, 88.5% and 89.5%, respectively. CONCLUSION： Besides clinical and radiologic findings, ascitic fluid ADA measurement is helpful in the differen- tial diagnosis of TBP and PC.

Background:Early detection and management of gastric adenoma are important for preventing gastric *** present study aimed to evaluate the predictors of missed gastric adenoma on screening endoscopy in Korea and identify the risk factors associated with interval precancerous gastric ***:All cases of gastric adenomas diagnosed via screening endoscopy between 2007 and 2019 were *** them,those who had undergone endoscopy within 3 years were included in the present *** gastric adenoma was defined as gastric adenoma diagnosed within 3 years after negative screening ***:In total,295 cases of gastric adenoma were *** these,95(32.2%)were missed gastric adenoma cases(mean age,60.6 years;average interval between final and index endoscopies,12.6months);the remaining 200(67.8%)were newly detected adenoma *** analysis revealed thatmale sex,endoscopist experience,observation time,and presence of gastric intestinalmetaplasia(pathologically proven)were associated with missed gastric *** analysis revealed that gastric intestinal metaplasia(odds ratio[OR],2.736;95%confidence interval[CI],1.320–5.667;P=0.007)and shorter observation time of the index screening endoscopy(B,0.011;OR,0.990;95%CI,0.986–0.993;Psed gastric *** optimal cut-off for the observation time for detecting gastric adenoma was 3.53minutes(area under curve,0.738;95%CI,0.677–0.799;Psed gastric ***,careful inspection of gastric mucosa with gastric intestinal metaplasia and proper observation time can lower the possibility of missing the gastric adenoma during screening.
