In this study, porous titanium-10 wt% bioglass(BG) composites were fabricated by the process of combining mechanical alloying with space holder sintering. The pore morphology and phase constituents of the milled powders and porous compacts were characterized by scanning electron microscopy(SEM), X-ray diffractometry(XRD), and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR). The mechanical properties were determined by running compression test. The porosity of the sintered samples shows a downward trend with the increase of milling time. As the porosity increases, both the compressive strength and elastic modulus decrease. The results illustrate that the fabricated porous compacts with high porosity and suitable mechanical properties have the potential application in bone tissue engineering.

The purpose of the present research is to determine the tensile strength and elongation of the A390 alloy processed by ECAP and to reveal the relationship between the microstructure and tensile properties. Optical microscopy (OM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) were used for microstructural analysis of the samples. The results of the mechanical testing showed that the ultimate tensile strength (UTS) increased from 142 MPa for the as-cast sample to 275 MPa for the sample after the third ECAP pass. Increasing the ECAP passes up to 4 led to a remarkable enhancement of elongation compared with the as-cast sample. It was found that the improvement of strength and ductility of A390 alloy with increasing the number of ECAP passes was attributed to the homogenous distribution of particles, reduction of particle size, and elimination of voids especially adjacent to the primary silicon particles. The results of fractography demonstrated that when the number of ECAP passes increased to 4, the uniform round dimples formed and the relatively brittle as-cast sample transformed to a ductile alloy.

Cancer is a frightful disease and represents one of the biggest health-care issues for the human race and demands a proactive strategy for cure. Plants are reservoirs for novel chemical entities and provide a promising line for research on cancer. Hitherto, being effective, chemotherapy is accompanied by certain unbearable side effects. Nevertheless,plants and plant derived products is a revolutionizing field as these are Simple, safer, ecofriendly, low-cost, fast, and less toxic as compared with conventional treatment *** are selective in their functions and acts specifically on tumor cells without affecting normal cells. Carcinogenesis is complex phenomena that involves many signaling cascades. Phytochemicals are considered suitable candidates for anticancer drug development due to their pleiotropic actions on target events with multiple manners. The research is in progress for developing potential candidates(those can block or slow down the growth of cancer cells without any side effects) from these phytochemicals. Many phytochemicals and their derived analogs have been identified as potential candidates for anticancer therapy. Effort has been made through this comprehensive review to highlight the recent developments and milestones achieved in cancer therapies using phytomolecules with their mechanism of action on nuclear and cellular factors. Furthermore, drugs for cancer treatment and their limitations have also been discussed.

The National Cancer Institute had projected breast cancer(BC) as one of the topmost prevalent malignancies around the *** many cases,BC becomes resistant to chemotherapy,radiation and hormonal *** BC therapies are associated with adverse side effects,drug resistance and *** research work has shown that these dietary phytochemicals(DPs) may exert therapeutic effects by regulating the miRNA expression.A large number of DPs have been researched as miRNA regulatory agents against BC and some other DPs have not yet been tested against *** have discussed the effects of curcumin,diallyl disulphide,3,3′ diindolylmethane,ellagic acid,genistein,indole-3-carbinol,quercetin,resveratrol,and sulforaphane on regulation of expression of BC miRNAs in a wide range of in vitro and in vivo *** have also shown some of the possible DPs(Oleanolic acid,capsaicin,benzyl isothiocyanate,epigallocatechin gallate,phenethyl isothiocyanate and ursolic acid) that have shown miRNA regulatory activities and have not yet been tested against BC ***,current limitations,challenges,future perspectives of DPs and BC research are also critically discussed.

Breast cancer is a frightful disease and serious concern in women around the world causing significant health care burden in both developed and developing countries. Extensive research work has shown that breast cancer provides strong resistance to chemical agents, U V radiation,and hormonal treatments. It is generally accepted that cell genetics is not the only main reason for breast cancer and genetic risk factors, for example, mutations in RRCAI and BRCA2 genes constitute 5%-10% of all breast cancer rates. Other related factors include age, gender,race, ethnicity, weight, reproductive factors, exo-and endogenous hormonal exposures, oral contraceptives use, ultraviolet radiation, diet, and night work(circadian disruption). Many studies have revealed that dietary isoflavones regulate breast cancer occurrence, recurrence and prognosis. Dietary isoflavones have long been part of Asian population diet and there is a significant increase as compared to dietary isoflavones intake among other populations. Dietary isoflavones are natural phytoestrogens having both estrogenic and anti-estrogenic potentials on breast cancer cells in culture, animal models and in experimental trials. This literature survey provides a comprehensive overview on the tumor preventive and tumor promoting potentials of dietary isoflavones on breast cancer. In addition, this paper provides a literature review of dietary isoflavones and their effects on up-regulation and down-regulation of different signaling pathways, genes and proteins. Finally, future perspectives of dietary isoflavones and breast cancer researchers are also critically discussed, which will provide a deeper insight regarding the inner molecular mechanisms of action.

Most important problems arising from industrial and technological developments are abundance and harmful effects of post-productive wastes. In most of the developed countries, these effects are avoided by orderly storing methods. Storing the wastes in random stacks in the site, and their effect on wide areas gives a rise to the risk of ground, air and under water pollution e.g., pollution of the surrounding environments. Therefore, in most engineering branches, effects and nature of harmful wastes are investigated and solution methods are developed. When structures made of concrete are to be demolished. Concrete recycling is an increasingly common method of disposing of the rubble. Concrete debris was once routinely shipped to landfills for disposal, but recycling has a number of benefits that have been made it a more attractive option in this age of greater environmental awareness, more environmental lows, and the desire to keep constant costs down. The purpose of this research is to study the effect of using demolished concrete as a reproducible coarse aggregate in fabricating normal and high strength concrete mixes. The effect of constituent materials in general and the recycled coarse aggregate in particular on the mechanical performance of the produced concrete mixes is investigated. The characteristics of using the by-pass product of cement industry as cementitious material in recycled concrete mixes with a percentage of 50% as a replacement of cement content is investigated too. Test results presented in this research leads to the promising use of crushed demolished concrete along with the by-pass product of cement as waste materials in producing concrete mixes as well as the optimistic results in enhancing the strength properties of plain concrete beside their benefits of the cost savings and reducing environmental impact.

Self-compacting concrete （SCC） is defined so that no vibration is necessary for the compaction. The main criteria of producing SCC have to satisfy the following characteristics [1, 2, 3]：（1） Ability to flow into and completely fill complex forms under its own weight; （2） Ability to pass through and bond to congested reinforcements; （3） High resistance to aggregate segregation. Self-compacting concrete presents a significant sign in improving the product quality and efficiency of the building industry. It also enhances the working conditions and the quality and appearance of concrete. Japan has been used self-compacting concrete in bridge, building and tunnel construction since the early 1990s. In the last decade, SCC has been produced a high potential for greater acceptance and wider applications in highway bridge construction in the Europe and U.S.. However, till now, there is no application of SCC in the construction industry in Egypt. Therefore, the main objective of this research is to produce SCC by using the locally available materials in our region such as basalt, gravel, sand, limestone powder and silica fume. Experimental programme was designed to characterize the properties of fresh and hardened SCC. It comprises different concrete mixes thbricated with different types and percentages of constituent materials. Three full-scale reinforced concrete beams were fabricated from the SCC mixes and tested under flexure. For the purpose of comparison, an extra RC beam was made of conventional normal concrete to serve as a reference beam. This study, in general, demonstrated that the applications of SCC in construction industry oiler products with enhanced characteristics as well as could be economical.

Validation of AOGCMs Capabilities for Simulation Length of Dry Spells under the Climate Change in Southwestern Area of Iran

Identification and extraction length of dry spells in arid and semi-arid regions is very important. Thus, the use of climate change prediction models for study the behavior of the climatic parameters in the future time is inevitable. With recognition of the spatial and temporal behavior variables such as precipitation, we can prevent from destructive effects. In this research, the performance of Atmosphere-Ocean General Circulation Models (AOGCMs) was evaluated for simulation length of dry spells in the south-western area of Iran. The results show that the length of dry spell is relatively decreased in cold seasons (autumn and winter) and increased in the warm season (spring and summer) in both A2 and B2 Scenarios. The length of the dry spell on monthly scale for scenario A2 is 6% (equivalent to 2 days) and for scenario B2 is 9 percent (approximately 2.4 day) increased compared to the baseline period. For assess the uncertainty, AOGCMs were weighting. The results show that the best model for simulation of dry spells is HADCM3 and GFCM2.1, because the results have a less error. On the other hand, NCCCSM have the lowest weight for simulation dry spells in both scenarios.
