Ayurvedic concept of Shatkriyakala:a traditional knowledge of cancer pathogenesis and therapy

The term Kriyakala refers to the recognition of the stage of a disease＇s progress, which helps to determine appropriate measure to correct the imbalance in Doshas （biological factors）. It is a compound expression, comprised of Kriya and Kala, where Kriya means the choice to treatment （medicine, food and daily-routine） used to improve the disturbance in Doshas, and Kala refers to the stage of progress of a disease. Sushruta, an ancient Indian surgeon, has described the concept of Kriyakala in Vamaprashnadhyaya, an ancient Vedic Sanskrit text, which seeks to explain the incidence of Vamas in terms of Doshic disturbances. Vama, in modern parlance, may be described as an inflammatory process that may lead ulceration and chronic inflammation, promoting all stages of carcinogenesis. Abnormal interactions between Prakriti （genotype） and environmental factors vitiate the Doshas and impair immunity, which can lead to aberrant cell growth and cancer. Moreover, the interaction between vitiated Doshas and weak Dhatus （body tissues） manifests as cancers of a specific organ. Shatkriyakala （six stages of progress of a disease）, on the other hand, provides a framework to assess the cancer and its pathogenesis in different stages. According to Ayurvedic concepts, all cancer therapies treat the affected tissues indirectly by eliminating vitiated Doshas, rejuvenating Dhatus and restoring immunity in cancer patients. The present review describes the six stages of Shatkriyakala in detail, with an emphasis on research areas to validate the concept of Shatkriyakala. This traditional knowledge can be utilized with modern technologies to detect predisposition for cancer or diagnose cancer in its early stages.

Positive solutions and stability of fuzzy Atangana–Baleanu variable fractional differential equation model for a novel coronavirus (COVID-19)

This work provides a new fuzzy variable fractional COVID-19 model and uses a variablefractional operator, namely, the fuzzy variable Atangana–Baleanu fractional derivativesin the Caputo sense. Next, we explore the proposed fuzzy variable fractional COVID-19 model using the fixed point theory approach and determine the solution’s existenceand uniqueness conditions. We choose an appropriate mapping and with the help ofthe upper/lower solutions method. We prove the existence of a positive solution for theproposed fuzzy variable fractional COVID-19 model and also obtain the result on theexistence of a unique positive solution. Moreover, we discuss the generalized Hyers–Ulam stability and generalized Hyers–Ulam–Rassias stability. Further, we investigate theresults on maximum and minimum solutions for the fuzzy variable fractional COVID-19model.

An analytical solution of multi-dimensional space fractional diffusion equations with variable coefficients

In this paper,we have considered the multi-dimensional space fractional diffusion equations with variable *** fractional operators(derivative/integral)are used based on the Caputo *** study provides an analytical approach to determine the analytical solution of the considered problems with the help of the two-step Adomian decomposition method(TSADM).Moreover,new results have been obtained for the existence and uniqueness of a solution by using the Banach contraction principle and a fixed point *** have extended the dimension of the space fractional diffusion equations with variable coefficients into ***,the generalized problems with two different types of the forcing term have been included demonstrating the applicability and high efficiency of the TSADM in comparison to other existing numerical *** diffusion coefficients do not require to satisfy any certain conditions/restrictions for using the *** are no restrictions imposed on the problems for diffusion coefficients,and a similar procedures of the TSADM has followed to the obtained analytical solution for the multi-dimensional space fractional diffusion equations with variable coefficients.

An analytical solution with existence and uniqueness conditions for fractional integro-differential equations

This study aims to apply the two-step Adomian decomposition method(TSADM)to find an analytical solution of integro-differential equations for fractional order without discretization/approximation with less number of iterations and reduce the computational ***,we have established the results for the existence and uniqueness of a solution with the help of some fixed point theorems and the Banach contraction ***,the method is demonstrated on different test examples arising in real life *** is concluded that the TSADM provides exact solution of the fractional integro-differential equations in one *** the same time,the other existing methods furnish an approximate solution and require lots of computation to solve the problem applying discretization/approximation on fractional operators.

Proximate Composition,Mineral Content and Fatty Acids Analyses of Aromatic and Non-Aromatic Indian Rice

Awareness on nutritive value and health benefits of rice is of vital importance in order to increase the consumption of rice in daily diet of the human beings. In this study, a total of six aromatic and two non-aromatic rice accessions grown in India were analysed for their nutritional quality attributes including proximate composition, mineral contents and fatty acids. Data with three replications were used to measure Pearson＇s simple correlation co-efficient in order to establish the relationship among various nutritional quality attributes. The result on proximate composition showed that Govind Bhog had the highest moisture（13.57%） and fat（0.92%） content, which signifies its tasty attribute. Badshah Bhog exhibited the highest fibre content（0.85%）, carbohydrate content（82.70%） and food energy（365.23 k Cal per 100 g）. Among the minerals, the higher Ca（98.75 mg/kg）, Zn（17.00 mg/kg） and Fe（31.50 mg/kg） were in Gopal Bhog, whereas the highest Na（68.85 mg/kg） was in Badshah Bhog, the highest K（500.00 mg/kg） was in Swetganga, Khushboo and Sarbati. The highest contents of unsaturated fatty acids viz. oleic acid（49.14%）, linoleic acid（46.99%） and linolenic acid（1.27%） were found in Sarbati, whereas the highest content of saturated fatty acids viz. myristic acid（4.60%） and palmitic acid（31.91%） were found in Govind Bhog and stearic acid（6.47%） in Todal. The identified aromatic rice accessions Gopal Bhog, Govind Bhog and Badshah Bhog and non-aromatic rice accession Sarbati were found nutritionally superior among all eight tested accessions. The nutritional quality oriented attributes in this study were competent with recognized prominent aromatic and non-aromatic rice accessions as an index of their nutritional worth and recommend to farmers and consumers which may be graded as export quality rice with good unique nutritional values in international market.

Antidiabetic activity of alcoholic leaves extract of Alangium lamarckii Thwaites on streptozotocin-nicotinamide induced type 2 diabetic rats

Objective:To investigate antidiabetic potential of alcoholic leaves extract of Alangium lamarekii (***) on streptozotocin-nicotinamide induced type 2 diabetic ***:Oral glucose tolerance test was done by inducing hyperglycemic state via administration of glucose in water(2 g/kg).Single dose of alcoholic leaves extract ***(250 and 500 mg/kg,p.o.) were administered to normoglycemic,hyperglycemic *** 2 diabetes was induced by single intraperitoneal injection of nicotinamide(110 mg/kg) followed by streptozotocin(65 mg/kg).The study also included estimations of blood plasma glucose,lipid profile,liver glycogen,body weight and antioxidant status in normal and diabetic ***:Admistration of alcoholic extract of *** at two dosage 250 and 500 rag/kg,*** not showed any significant change in blood glucose level of normoglycemic rats(P>0.05).whereas,oral glucose tolerance test depicted reduction in blood glucose level(P<0.05).The streptozotocin-nicotinamide induced diabetic rats, significantly decreased the blood plasma glucose level(P<0.001) comparable to glibenclamide (10 mg/kg),restored the lipid profile and showed improvement in liver glycogen,body weight and antioxidant status in diabetic ***:Present finding demonstrated the significant antidiabetic activity of alcoholic leaves extract ***.

Optimal variable structure control with sliding modes for unstable processes

In this work,a variable structure control(VSC)technique is proposed to achieve satisfactory robustness for unstable *** values of unknown parameters of VSC are obtained using Whale optimization algorithm which was recently reported in *** analysis has been done to verify the suitability of the proposed structure for industrial *** proposed control strategy is applied to three different types of unstable processes including non-minimum phase and nonlinear systems.A comparative study ensures that the proposed scheme gives superior performance over the recently reported VSC ***,the proposed method gives satisfactory results for a cart inverted pendulum system in the presence of external disturbance and noise.

Continuous Mixed p-norm Control Scheme with Reweighted L_(0) norm Variable Step Size for Mitigating Power Quality Problems of Grid Coupled Solar PV Systems

In this paper,the performance of a two-stage three-phase grid coupled solar photovoltaic generating system(SPVGS)is analyzed by using a novel reweighted Lo norm variable step size continuous mixed p-norm(RLo-VSSCMPN)of a voltage source inverter(VSI)control *** efficacy of the system is determined by considering unbalanced grid voltage,DC offset,voltage sag and swell,unbalanced load and variations in solar ***-VSSCMPN is used for inverter control and it ex-tracts fundamental components of load current for generating the reference grid current with a faster convergence rate and lesser steady state *** the proposed control,harmonics in the grid current follows the IEEE-519 norm and the performance is also satisfactory under varying environmental/load *** power generated from SPvGS is transferred optimally using a DC-DC boost converter utilizing the incremental conductance(INC)maximum power point *** proposed system is simulated using MATLAB/Simulink 2018a and test results are verified experimentally using dSPACE1202 in the laboratory to ensure the validity of a novel proposed robust *** Terms-INC maximum power point tracker,power quality,reweighted LoVSSCMPN algorithm,solar PV generating system,total harmonic distortion,voltage source inverter.

Pediatric hepatocellular carcinoma

Pediatric hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is the second common malignant liver tumor in children after hepato-blastoma. It differs from the adult HCC in the etiological predisposition, biological behavior and lower frequency of cirrhosis. Perinatally acquired hepatitis-B virus, hepa-torenal tyrosinemia, progressive familial intrahepatic cho-lestasis, glycogen storage disease, Alagille's syndrome and congenital portosystemic shunts are important predis-posing factors. Majority of children (87%) are older than 5 years of age. Following mass immunization against hepatitis-B, there has been a drastic fall in the incidence of new cases of pediatric HCC in the Asia-Pacific region. Management is targeted on complete surgical removal either by resection or liver transplantation. There is a trend towards improving survival of children transplanted for HCC beyond Milan criteria. Chemotherapeutic regi-mens do not offer good results but may be helpful for down-staging of advanced HCC. Surveillance of children with chronic liver diseases with ultrasound and alpha-fetoprotein may be helpful in timely detection, intervention and overall improvement in outcome of HCC.
