Microalgae cultivation using organic wastewater like kitchen wastewater(KWW)and sewage wastewater(SWW)are recommended for wastewater treatment along with simultaneous biomass production which is a cost effective *** is rich in nutrients which might be an efficient wastewater feedstock for microalgae cultivation to achieve reasonably high biomass yield for energy *** has not been investigated extensively for microalgae cultivation till now because of high concentration of ammonia as it could inhibit algae *** order to make KWW suitable for microalgae growth,a common method is to dilute with ***,in the present study,KWW was diluted with water at dilution ration 1:1 and compared with SWW for microalgae biomass growth,biomass yields and nutrient removal efficiency specifically using *** KWW and SWW showed highest biomass productivity in mixotrophic cultivation *** average biomass productivity in SWW was 0.6 g/L which was higher when compared to *** infrared spectroscopy(FTIR)of algal biomass revealed the presence of certain organic compound groups such as eOH,eCOOH,NH_(2),and ■*** was concluded from the results that Chlorella was very effective in the treatment of KWW,SWW and industrial flue gas on the other hand the biomass obtained is a sustainable green energy source for biofuels.

Hybrid Formulation of the Multi-Item Capacitated Dynamic Lot Sizing Problem

It is shown that when backorders, setup times and dynamic demand are included in capacitated lot sizing problem, the resulting classical formulation and one of the transportation formulations of the problem (referred to as CLSP_BS) are equivalent. And it is shown that both the formulations are “weak” formulations (as opposed to “strong” formulation). The other transportation version is a strong formulation of CLSP_BS. Extensive computational studies are presented for medium and large sized problems. In case of medium-sized problems, strong formulation produces better LP bounds, and takes lesser number of branch-and-bound (B&B) nodes and less CPU time to solve the problem optimally. However for large-sized problems strong formulation takes more time to solve the problem optimally, defeating the benefit of strength of bounds. This essentially is because of excessive increase in the number of constraints for the large sized problems. Hybrid formulations are proposed where only few most promising strong constraints are added to the weak formulation. Hybrid formulation emerges as the best performer against the strong and weak formulations. This concept of hybrid formulation can efficiently solve a variety of complex real life large-sized problems.

We introduce a homology-based recombination approach for generating a cDNA construct. This method depends on amplifying several exon fragments and their fusions by the homology-based recombination. This method provides a way to generate the cDNA sequence of any gene without any need for its mRNA. The paper describes the strategy by assembling cDNA of the MYB1 and MYB2 genes of Arabidopsis thaliana.

In this article, we propose novel reformulations for capacitated lot sizing problem. These reformulations are the result of reducing the number of variables (by eliminating the backorder variable) or increasing the number of constraints (time capacity constraints) in the standard problem formulation. These reformulations are expected to reduce the computational time complexity of the problem. Their computational efficiency is evaluated later in this article through numerical analysis on randomly generated problems.

The wide distribution and color variation of grouper make it difficult not only to identify grouper species visually, but also to determine genetic structure of their populations, the latter being important implication for the design of adequate management program. One alternative for gathering information on these species is the use of molecular genetic markers. Here, we identified and characterized eight micmsatellite markers from yellow grouper Epinephelus awoara and bluelined hind grouper Cephalopholis formosa. All these produced consistent polymerase chain reaction product, and seven loci were found to be highly variable. These loci were all composed of dinucleotide repeats, with the number of alleles ranging from 2 to 6, with heterozygosities ranging from 33% to 95% in E. awoara and from 25% to 100% in C. formosa. The high levels of variability observed should make these markers useful for population genetic studies of this two species, and potentially other Epinephelus and Cephalopholis. Such analysis will offer insights to fine-tune conservation and fishery management in the future.

Conclusive Growth of CdTe Nanorods by Solvothermal Decomposition Using Single Source Precursors

CdTe nanorods are synthesized by solvothermal decomposition, using single source molecular precursors (SSMP) cadmium (II), complex of bis-(aminopropyl telluride) (SSMP-I) and cadmium (II) bis-(isopropyl telluro) propane (SSMP-II) and quinoline as solvent at relatively low temperature (210°C). As synthesized nanomaterials are structurally characterized by XRD and SEM, SEM micrographs revealed formation of rod shapes structures whose dimensions change with the source precursor molecule. The average crystallite size estimated from XRD data is 29.78 and 28.94 nm respectively using Precursors I and II. The average size of nanorods is 1.237 μm and 0.15μm respectively, estimated from SEM micrographs. These are much larger than the average crystallite size estimated from XRD data. This is attributed to the agglomeration of nanocrystallites as quinoline is not a good capping agent.
