In this study,we proposed a novel micro-scale additive manufacturing method based on the optical potential formed by a Bessel *** proposed technique is expected to show no deterioration in manufacturing resolution due to heat genera-tion,to be applicable to various materials,and to be able to be performed in an air *** basic principle of the proposed method involves accumulating and stacking particles dispersed in air by using optical radiation *** this paper,the trajectory of the accumulated particles was numerically estimated and experimentally *** numerical and experimental results agreed well;specfially,the back ground flow carried the particles to the optical axis of the Bessel beam,and then the particles were localized at the bottom of the optical potential valley on the ***,a pillar structure was fabricated with polystyrene particles having a diameter of 1 um,which indicated that the proposed technique was promising for practical applications.

In this paper,we propose an in-process measurement method of the diameter of micro-optical fiber such as a tapered optical *** proposed technique is based on analyzing optically scattered light generated by standing wave *** proposed method is significant in that it requires an only limited measurement range and does not require a high dynamic range *** properties are suitable for in-process *** experiment verified that the proposed method could measure a fiber diameter as stable as±0.01μm under an air turbulence *** a result of comparing the measured diameter distribution with those by scanning electron microscopy,it was confirmed that the proposed method has a measurement accuracy better than several hundred nanometers.

Surface microstructures impart various useful properties to objects,for example,improving optical characteristics,wettability,and sliding *** is well known that biomimicking relief structures are effective in making such properties arise and have been studied to be applied to various ***,they are expected to be utilized not only for improving a particular property but also for adding more complex functions on a device's urface by fabricating different multi-functional structures on a single surface in the ***,to begin with,artificially fabricating such biomimicking special functional relief is *** typical feature of biomimicking surfaces is the dual-scale structure,the smaller one of which is less than 200 ***,in the case of realizing the more complex devices,it is necessary to fabricate various forms as changing process conditions *** this study,we proposed and developed a flexible evanescent wave interference lithography system as a novel fabrication method,which allows us to realize the fabrication of sub-half-wavelength complex relief ***,we theoretically analyzed the fundamental behavior of the fabricated structure and found that the proposed concept has the potential to realize one of the target complex ***,we developed the proposed system with high process flexibility,in which the number of beams,the azimuth angles,and the polarization can be simply ***,we validated the concept of the designed system by some experiments,where we fabricated dual-scale structures with 840-nm and 190-nm fringe patterns simultaneously.

Endoscopic transpapillary brush cytology and forceps biopsy during endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatology are generally used to obtain pathological evidence of biliary strictures. Recently, the new endoscopic scraper Trefle~? has been reported and demonstrated high cancer detectability in malignant biliary strictures. This device is used to scrape the stricture over the guidewire, and, in the original method, the tissue and/or cell samples obtained are subjected to histological and/or cytological analysis separately. However, discrimination of chunks of tissue is hampered by the opacity of the surrounding fluid. We have developed a cell block technique for the Trefle~? device without dividing obtained specimens into tissue and cellular components, which is the simplest method and enables immunohistochemical analysis. We present a case of obstructive jaundice diagnosed immunohistochemically as pancreatic metastasis from colon cancer using cell block sections obtained with the Trefle~? device, which procedure is as easy as conventional brush cytology.

Factors Predicting Late Rectal Disorders after Radiation Therapy for Prostate Cancer

Background： Although various studies have been conducted on the effects of radiation therapy for prostate cancer, rectal toxicity after radiation therapy for prostate cancer, which is an important late adverse event associated with radiation therapy, has not been sufficiently examined. This study aimed to assess the associations of late rectal disorder （LRD） with dosimetric, anatomic, and clinical factors in patients with prostate cancer who underwent three-dimensional conformal radiation therapy （3D-CRT）. Methods： We retrospectively analyzed 104 patients undergoing 3D-CRT between January 2009 and October 2011. Thirty patients were administered anticoagulation/antiplatelet （AC/AP） agents. The standard dose was 74 Gy. Uni- and multi-va,iate analyses we,e performed to identify factors predictive of LRD after 3D-CRT. Results： The median follow-up period was 66 （range： 14 87） months. LRD occurred in 10.6% （11/104） of patients. The median time fi＇om RT to LRD was 15 months （range： 7MI months）. Sixty-four percent of those with LRD （7/11 patients） had been given AC/AP agents. Fitly-five （6/11 ） patients had severe internal iliac artery calcification. By univariate analysis, significant predictors of LRD were internal iliac artery calcification, administration of AC/AP agents, and age. Being very elderly was the significant predictor identified by multivariate analysis （P = 0.0276）. For patients receiving AC/AP agents and those with severe internal iliac artery calcification, the LRD incidences were 23.3% （7/30 patients） and 23.1% （6/26 patients）, respectively, and being 75 years of age or older was a significant predictor in these subsets. Conclusions： Our results suggest advanced age, administration of AC/AP agents, and severe internal iliac artery calcification to be risk factors tbr LRD in patients undergoing standard RT. We could observe the endoluminal stent graft (SG) following thoracic endovascular aneurysm repair (TEVAR) by a coronary artery angioscope and establish intravascular visualization of SG. The patient was a 70-year-old woman with the distal aortic arch aneurysm and the descending aortic aneurysm, and debranching TEVAR were performed. After 12 months follow up, urgent hospitalization was required for chest pain, and cardiac catheter examination with a coronary artery angioscope was performed. The endoluminal SG was observed. The observation in angioscope which is a video image is better than CT that is a still image, and observation in blood vessel or SG is possible. It may be possible to observe the endoluminal SG, allowing potential investigation of an endoleak, or the covering status of the SG with the native aortic vessel wall, or the state of intimal membrane formation in the endoluminal graft.

We have been developing new fabrication tools based on optical radiation pressur e and related phenomena to develop a flexible and accurate microfabrication tec hnology. In this paper, the laser trapping probe for the nano-CMM for assessment , in addition to micromachining technique using a small particle controlled by o p tical radiation pressure and laser aggregation technique are discussed. As the p o sitional detection probe for the nano-CMM, an optically trapped silica particle with 8 mm diameter in forced oscillation state is used. A probe sphere retains a stable position when applied with trapping force by Nd:YAG laser light formed an nu lar and is forced to oscillate by the driving force changed by modulating the in tensity of LD emission. Experintal results show that this vibrational microprobe h as the possibility to achieve positional sensing accuracy of less than 25 nm. As a new micromachining technique, nano-removal process using an optically trapped m icro-grain is proposed. The laser trapping force enables not only to stably trap the diamond grain with asymmetrical shape but also to freely control the positi on with spinning. Using this micro machining tool, the machining experiments of h ydrocarbon film are performed. AFM observation confirmed that the fine groove wi th depths of about 3～4 nm can be fabricated. As an additive process based on ra diation pressure, a laser microstructure fabrication using laser agglomeration p h enomena of colloidal particles aided by radiation pressure is investigated. By c ontrolling laser beam scanning in slurry containing KOH solution and SiO 2 par ticles with a diameter of 140 nm, colloidal particles are aggregated and adhered firmly to a silicon wafer substrate. Using this laser agglomerating process, two-dimensional grid microstructures at the pitch of 5 mm can be fabricated.

目的通过观察肌腱膜纤维肉瘤肿瘤基因同系物A（MafA）基因杂合子小鼠在胰岛素分泌、相关基因表达、血糖及血清胰岛素水平等方面的变化，探讨MafA基因在青少年起病的成人型糖尿病（MODY）发生中的作用。方法将动物分为MafA杂合子组及野生（C57BL／6J）对照组，采用腹腔葡萄糖耐量实验（IPGTT）观察杂合子小鼠血糖经时分布曲线及血清胰岛素的变化；胰岛素耐量实验了解两组动物对胰岛素的敏感性；半定量PCR法检测杂合子小鼠MafA、胰岛素以及PdXl和Beta2等基因的表达水平；组织免疫荧光法观察胰腺中胰岛的组织形态并进行ot、B细胞计数分析。结果（1）MafA杂合子小鼠在生后2周开始呈现血糖增高及体重减轻、胰岛素分泌明显下降（P〈0．05或P〈0．01），胰岛素敏感性未发生明显改变。（2）MafA杂合子小鼠胰岛体积较对照组明显增大，但胰腺细胞数量、p细胞的分布形态及比值无明显变化。（3）半定量PCR结果显示，与对照组相比，MafA杂合子小鼠MafA基因、胰岛素基因、Beta2基因表达水平均明显降低（均P〈0．05）．而胰高血糖素及Pdxl水平没有变化。结论MafA基因杂合子小鼠在出生早期即表现为血糖升高、体重减轻、胰岛素产生能力下降等。MafA基因的表达对糖尿病的发生起重要作用。该基因可能是一种新的MODY致病基因。

Prostate cancer is the most common male malignant *** and the androgen receptor(AR)play a key role in the onset and progression of prostate *** expression of the AR is still preserved in the majority of patients with castration-resistant prostate cancer(CRPC).CRPC is considered to be induced by the following mechanisms:(1)sustained AR activation by enhancing intracellular conversion of adrenal androgens to dehydrotestosterone via a de novo route;(2)AR hypersensitivity;(3)promiscuous activation of AR signaling;and(4)outlaw *** advances in the treatment of CRPC include novel medicinestargeting AR signaling *** addition,functional molecular studies have shown that some of the ARregulated genes and AR coregulators are prognostic markers and potential therapeutic targets for prostate cancer,particularly in the castration-resistant ***,identification of the AR signaling pathways responsible for establishment of CRPC is critical for developing new strategies for the treatment of CRPC.
