The.obje.tive. of this study we.e.to mode. and compare.the.e.fe.ts of four bioe.e.gy crops (corn—Ze. mays, soybe.n—Glycine.max (L.) Me.r., miscanthus—Miscanthus-gigante.s, and switchgrass—Panicum virgatum) in the.Town Cre.k wate.she. (TCW) in northe.st Mississippi using the.Soil and Wate. Asse.sme.t Tool (SWAT) mode.. The.calibrate. SWAT mode. for TCW was use. to quantify impacts to stre.mflow, crop yie.d, and se.ime.t yie.d. The.SWAT mode. re.sonably (e.icte. long-te.m (January, 1990 to Se.te.be., 2009) monthly stre.mflow (25.88 m3·s-1) from the.TCW whe. compare. with the.USGS obse.ve. stre.m flow (29.34 m3·s-1. In addition, mode. re.sonably pre.icte. (±6%) ave.age.annual corn yie.d (4.66 Mg·ha-1) and soybe.n yie.d (1.42 Mg·ha-1) as compare. to National Agricultural Statistics Se.vice.(NASS) re.orte. ave.age.annual corn (4.96 Mg·ha-1) and soybe.n yie.d (1.34 Mg·ha-1) from the.wate.she.. Furthe., the.mode. simulate. re.ults from this study de.e.mine. that long-te.m ave.age.annual fe.dstock yie.d from TCW is the.gre.te.t whe. growing miscanthus grass (817,732 Mg) followe. by switchgrass (477,317 Mg), corn (236,132 Mg), and soybe.ns (65,235 Mg). The.SWAT mode. pre.icte. the.gre.te.t annual ave.age.se.ime.t yie.d (6.62 Mg·ha-1) from continuous corn crop sce.ario while.the.pe.e.nial grasse. (switchgrass and miscanthus) had the.lowe.t se.ime.t yie.d (2.91 Mg·ha-1 and 3.20 Mg·ha-1 re.pe.tive.y). Ove.all, producing a pe.e.nial grass in the.TCW would provide.the.large.t biomass fe.dstock source.with the.le.st e.vironme.tal impact. The.re.ults of this study will he.p to e.-US" style."
