Correlates of long-term physical activity adherence in women

background: Little is known about the factors that may influence women's adherence to moderate-to-vigorous physical activity(MVPA) using longitudinal data. The purpose of this study was to examine the correlates of long-term physical activity(PA) participation among ***: Female data from Waves I, III, and IV(n = 5381) of the National Longitudinal study of Adolescent to Adult Health(Add Health) were used for the analysis. The outcome of PA adherence was operationalized as(1) consistently physically active(at least 5 instances during the week)in both Waves III and IV(during adulthood), and(2) consistently not physically active or only physically active in either Wave III or IV. Predictor variables from Wave I(during adolescence) included race/ethnicity, PA level, self-perception of being physically fit, general health status, attempt to change weight, parents' income level, parents' education, well-being, depression, access to PA resources, days of physical education(PE), and grade level. Crude and adjusted logistic regression models were utilized to estimate the adjusted odds ratio(a OR) and 95% confidence interval(95%CI) for the outcome ***: PA levels during adolescence significantly predicted PA adherence(a OR = 1.67, 95%CI: 1.35–2.05). Additionally, wanting to lose weight(a OR = 1.49, 95%CI: 1.20–1.85), using fitness center in the neighborhood(a OR = 1.29, 95%CI: 1.05–1.58), and having 5 days of PE a week(a OR = 1.48, 95%CI: 1.09–2.02) were significant predictors. Women who did not perceive being physically fit(a OR = 0.65, 95%CI: 0.44–0.95)and black, non-Hispanics(a OR = 0.60, 95%CI: 0.44–0.82) were less likely to adhere to ***: The findings suggested that physically active adolescents were more likely to become active adults. Future research should address interventions(e.g., PE program, community resources) that may promote lifetime PA in women, with the goal of decreasing morbidity and mortality.

One of the most controversial minerals in their origin and occurrence around the world is manganese *** Abu Zenima area is rated one of the most economically important places where manganese ore deposits(Mn ODs)are located in the southwest sinai microplate,*** deposits are confined with the Um bogma Formation(UbF)and the reserves of this region are relatively *** this study,optical and radar data are used in a new challenge as an attempt to reach the closest controls and setting of Mn ***,Frequency Ratio(FR)and Logistic Regression(LogR)predictive models are applied to integrate different geospatial thematic maps,to predict new potential resource zones for increasing the ranges of mining ***8 OLI,sentinel-2A Multi spectral Instrument and Radar(sentinel-1b)data are combined for mapping Mn ODs locations and their relationship with geological structures and the surrounding *** ratio,Principal and Independent Component Analysis techniques and four classification algorithms were implemented to the optical’VNIR and sWIR ***,the interferometric processing steps for sentinel-1 data were made for understanding the tectonic features in the *** FR and LogR models are validated during fieldwork with known Mn ODs *** indicate that processed images are capable of differentiation of UbF which broadly distributed in the central and southern parts of the *** ODs poss.b.y formed by thermal events that attributed to paleo-volcanic events.b.fore the rift *** high accuracy of LogR model(0.902)suggests that high Mn ODs potential zones are identified within the intersected fault zones near granitic *** integration is recommended for discriminating hydrothermally Mn ODs in other arid geographic regions.

Peristaltic motion induced by a surface acoustic wave of a viscous, compress.b.e and electrically conducting Maxwell fluid in a confined parallel-plane microchannel through a porous medium is investigated in the presence of a constant magnetic field. The slip velocity is considered and the problem is discussed only for the free pumping case. A perturbation technique is employed to analyze the problem in terms of a small amplitude ratio. The phenomenon of a “backward flow” is found to exist in the center and at the boundaries of the channel. In the second order approximation, the net axial velocity is calculated for various values of the fluid parameters. Finally, the effects of the parameters of interest on the mean axial velocity, the reversal flow, and the perturbation function are discussed and shown graphically. We find that in the non-Newtonian regime, there is a poss.b.lity of a fluid flow in the direction opposite to the propagation of the traveling wave. This work is the most general model of peristalsis created to date with wide-ranging applications in biological, geophysical and industrial fluid dynamics.

Couple stress fluid flow in a rotating channel with peristalsis

This article describes a new model for obtaining closed-form semi-analytical solutions of peristaltic flow induced by sinusoidal wave trains propagating with constant speed on the walls of a two-dimensional rotating infinite channel. The channel rotates with a constant angular speed about the z-axis and is filled with couple stress fluid. The governing equations of the channel deformation and the flow rate inside the channel are derived using the lubrication theory approach. The resulting equations are solved, using the homotopy perturbation method（HPM）, for exact solutions to the longitudinal velocity distribution, pressure gradient, flow rate due to secondary velocity, and pressure rise per wavelength. The effect of various values of physical parameters, such as, Taylor＇s number and couple stress parameter, together with some interesting features of peristaltic flow are discussed through graphs. The trapping phenomenon is investigated for different values of parameters under consideration. It is shown that Taylor＇s number and the couple stress parameter have an increasing effect on the longitudinal velocity distribution till half of the channel, on the flow rate due to secondary velocity, and on the number of closed streamlines circulating the bolus.

Enzymatic and chemo-enzymatic strategies to produce highly valuable chiral amines from biomass with ω-transaminases on 2D zeolites

Amino transaminases(ATAs) have been supported on a 2D ITQ-2 zeolite through electrostatic interactions, resulting in a highly stable active biocatalyst to obtain a variety of valuable chiral amines starting from prochiral ketones derived from biomass. We have extended the biocatalyst applications.b. designing a chemo-enzymatic process that allows, as the first step, prochiral ketones to be obtained from biomass-derived compounds through an aldol condensation–reduction step using a bifunctional metal/base catalyst. The prochiral ketone is s.b.equently converted into the chiral amine using the immobilized ATA. We show that it is feas.b.e to couple both steps in a semi-continuous process to produce industrially relevant chiral amines with yields of >95% and ～100% enantiomer excess.

Development and transferability of two multiplexes nssR in scots pine(Pinus sylvestris L.)

A comprehensive simulation-based assessment of office building performance adaptability to teleworking scenarios in different Canadian climate zones

Recent studies have shown that office building systems do not adapt well to partial occupancy(e.g.,from teleworking)and thus perform *** a result,this study aims to assess office building performance adaptability by investigating the impact of four different technologies,including occupancy-based lighting,smart plugs(occupancy-based plug load),demand-controlled ventilation(DCV),occupancy-based thermostat,and their cumulative effect in office buildings in six different Canadian climates.A three-story office building is simulated in EnergyPlus version 9.3.0 under five occupancy scenarios,including 0%occupancy,100%occupancy,50%uniformly distributed occupancy across the floor,50%consolidated occupancy scenario where occupants work in core zones,and 50%consolidated occupancy scenario where occupants work in perimeter *** results are compared using energy use intensity(EUI),energy use intensity per occupant(EUP),and the corresponding greenhouse gas(GHG)emissions.A total of 180 simulations demonstrate the occupancy-adaptive technologies are generally most beneficial for low occupancy scenarios and milder *** results also show the cumulative impact of all these technologies on the potential energy savings is significant in the climates under ***,the results show office buildings can improve their performance adaptability during partial occupancy by implementing the studied *** from filling in the current knowledge gap in the literature on partial occupancy,the for the first time results of this study systemically demonstrate how each technology performs under different partial occupancy scenarios and how they perform together at each climate.

Thiel-behnke Corneal Dystrophy in a Young Man in Denmark—A Case Report

background: This case report presents a case of bilateral Thiel-behnke corneal dystrophy in Denmark. Thiel-behnke is an autosomal dominant inherited epithelial-stromal TGFbI dystrophy causing visual impairment. Methods and Results: This case study presents a 24-year-old Lithuanian man, with no previous ocular history, who had experienced slowly progressive visual impairment since his childhood. He was examined at the Department of Ophthalmology at Vejle Hospital and Aarhus University Hospital, where he was diagnosed with bilateral Thiel-behnke corneal dystrophy. Histology confirmed the diagnosis. A lamellar corneal transplantation was performed in the right eye;however, due to epithelial growth under the corneal graft, it was later decided to redo the operation. Following the operations, the patient experienced a visual improvement in best corrected visual acuity (bCVA) from 0.1 (20/25 snellen equivalent) to 0.3 (20/40 snellen equivalent) in his right eye. Conclusions: This case of Thiel-behnke corneal dystrophy is to our knowledge the first reported case in Denmark.

AIM:To study of corneal biomechanical properties and intraocular pressure(IOP)measured with Corvis scheimpflug Technology(sT)in patients with childhood glaucoma(CG).METHODs:Cross-sectional study in which 89 eyes were included 56 of them with *** one eye per patient was *** following variables were obtained from the clinical history and the ophthalmological examination:age,sex,IOP,number of surgeries,and the cup/disc ratio(CDR).The following parameters were recorded using Corvis sT:corrected by biomechanics IOP(b IOP),not corrected IOP(nct IOP),central corneal thickness(CCT),maximum concavity[radius,peak distance(PD)and deformation amplitude],applanation 1 and 2(length and velocity).The mean age was 23±14.55 and 33±19.5 years old for the control group and CG group,*** 36 were males and 53 were *** the CG group,7 patients were controlled only with medical *** had at least one previous goniotomy,19 had at least one trabeculectomy,and 11 had an Ahmed ***:A significant and positive intraclass correlation coefficient was found between Goldman IOP and the IOP measured by Corvis in both *** differences were found between the IOP measured with Corvis and Goldman using a student *** biomechanical parameters,there were differences in the applanation length 2(A-L2),in the applanation velocity 2(A-V2)and in the *** sex,only the applanation length 1(A-L1)was found to be different in control group.A positive and significant Pearson correlation was found between CDR and the ***:Corneal biomechanical properties have shown differences.b.tween CG and healthy s.b.ects and also between men and women.
